Never Let Go.

'Kieran's POV'

Our big secret stays between Jamie and I for maybe 45 minutes before he gets a text from Tyler, *Did you do it??* Jamie had clearly spilled the beans about his plans to his, well actually our best friend that he was going to propose sometime soon. With Tyler's begging we decided to just let it out, after all me going to work tomorrow with a rock on my left hand was going to let the cat out of the bag anyway. So we spent the majority of the night both of us on the phone cuddled up together on our couch with Knox laying at our feet. Jamie and I called our parents both of which knew it was coming but were playing a waiting game. Our siblings who were all ecstatic for us and Jen was ready to start planning, Jamie also had to call his agent and give a warning call to the Stars PR guy. When it all came out to the public, which would most likely happen tomorrow morning it was bound to bring a lot of press to the Dallas Stars.

My last phone call was to Lauren, who nearly blew my eardrum with all of her screaming and crying. Before I hung up with her I had one last important question, "Hey Laur, LAUREN!" I yelled into the speaker. Getting her attention right now was hard as she was rattling off wedding ideas. "Yeah sorry, go on future Mrs. Benn." I giggled at the name, "Lo, I can't be Mrs. Benn without a maid of honor, will you do me the honors?" There were more screams, "YES YES YES!! OMG! Yeesssss!!!" I laughed her excitement, Jamie was currently on the phone asking Tyler to be his Best Man and I was sure he was probably doing the same thing or maybe just a milder, manlier version.

After all of the phone calls were made it was back to just Jamie and I sitting on the couch, my head in Jamie's lap as we "watched" TV. I was too busy looking at the ring on my finger and Jamie was too busy looking at me to really focus on the movie, "Should I just tweet this out before you go to work tomorrow and somebody spills the beans?" Jamie asks as I'm holding my hand up in the air letting the light from the TV bounce off of the beautiful diamond ring. "If you feel like that's the best way then sure babe, people would rather hear it from you anyway."

As soon as I am finished talking Jamie pulls out his phone, snapping a picture of my hand and composing a tweet. My phone vibrates on the table with a mention from Twitter,

"@jamiebenn14: you all deserve to hear it from me first, Kieran said yes! I can't wait to marry you @IrishKierBomb I love you! pic.twitter.com"

I smile as I read the tweet, favoriting it and retweeting out to my followers. "Cats out of the bag now" I say turning my phone on silent as responses pour in from fans, friends, and the Dallas media.

By the time I get to work the next morning my phone has a ton of texts and I have emails from companies all over Dallas, people wanting to plan the Captains wedding, and sell me a wedding dress. I haven't even been engaged for 24 hours and all of these people are knocking at our door! My co-workers all want to see the ring and they all ask how he did it, knowing the story will get out eventually I tell them after all they are my friends too they deserve to know the details! Throughout my entire day I am congratulated and asked a billion questions, most of which I don’t have answers too. So when 5 rolls around I am ready to get out of the office, only I don’t get to go home and relax tonight because it's game day.

After changing at home and making a quick dinner for myself I pickup Lauren and we head to the AAC. Hockey season is a lot more fun having my best friend by myside! With a couple seasons under our belts as WAGs (Lauren and Cody are still on an off again) we're used to sitting in the boxes now instead of down by the glass. The view is better down there but it's just easier to sit up top without being stared at and questioned throughout the whole game. When we arrive at the arena I am quickly approached by Jim the PR guy, he congratulates me with a big hug and asks me if it's okay if they talk about the engagement during the game. Apparently Jamie left the decision up to me. I agree to it, which now means I have to go down to the ice before the game begins. I'm thankful I wore a cute outfit to the game now!

Before the National Anthems are played the announcers begin to talk about the Star's captain's engagement while pictures of Jamie and I over the years play on the jumbotron. When Jamie skates over to talk with the interviewer it's my cue to walk out from the tunnels. The chill of the ice hits me and a smile pulls on my face as I get closer to Jamie. The arena erupts in cheers and awws as our faces are now on the jumbotron, the man asks Jamie about the proposal to which Jamie gestures to the Home bench and laughs "It was actually right over there, I wanted to do it somewhere special to the both of us."

The cameraman zooms in on my left hand and we are congratulated one last time by the entire arena. Both the Stars and the visiting Cannucks bang their sticks off the boards in celebration while Jamie's teammates yell for him to kiss me. We're both blushing but say what the hell, I grab Jamie's face and kiss him as everyone yells and applauds, through all the noise I can still hear Tyler yell "Get a room!" We both smile and laugh as we're pulling away, "Go get em baby!" I cheer walking away waving to the crowd one last time. And with that large announcement to 18,000+ people, the cat is definitely out of the bag.

Sorry it took so long everyone! As to not make college any more diffiuclt my laptop crashed this week and i'm still getting used to doing things on my iPad until it gets fixed! So bare with me! :/ Anywhooo.. How was chapter 2? Cats out of the bag now, will wedding planning push them together or tear the couple apart?! ;) xoxo -Ally
