‘Kieran’s POV’

After spending way too much time on Pinterest I found the cutest way to tell our family members that we are expecting. However, in order for me to to execute the plan we needed to have dinner at our house. Which meant I had to actually cook Thanksgiving dinner.

Now, I operate on animals for a living and by no means am a top chef, so this could go one of two ways. One: I have a mental breakdown over whether or not the turkey is done. Or two: I have to sneak around in my own house while my mom does the cooking in my kitchen. For the sake of everyone’s stomachs I decided on the latter, and my mom was excited to get to make a mess in someone else’s house for once.

This year Thanksgiving is an entire family affair, Jamie’s parents are here from Canada and Kilian, Morgan, and Finley are in town too.Not to mention our extended family will be joining us, Tyler, his girlfriend of almost a year Ari, Cody, and Lauren too. It’s been really hard keeping this from Lauren but I’m glad she’s finally finding out, after all she’s like my sister. Having everyone in the house is nice, but it’s making it hard to execute my master plan.

While the men are downstairs in the man cave and the women have stopped cooking and started gossiping I finally get a chance to sneak off. Grabbing the box of cards I slipped into the dining room, sliding an envelope under all of the plates already sat out around the dining room table. After dinner everyone would be getting a little surprise before dessert.

As we finish preparing dinner and the men finally come upstairs I can feel Jamie’s arms snaking around me his arms loose around my stomach. The green dress I’m wearing is thankfully loose and flows over my slowly expanding belly. “Did you do it?” he whispers his chin resting on my shoulder, I smile “Yep, it’s a go.” My mom announces that it’s time to eat and Jamie pecks my cheek before heading into the dining room.

‘Jamie’s POV’

While the rest of my family is concentrating on eating and enjoying the playful baby chatter between Josie and Finn I am focused on the little envelopes peaking out from beneath everyone’s plates. No one has seemed to notice them yet and I can tell Kieran is watching them like a hawk too. As everyone’s eating slows I begin to get anxious that someone will move their plate before Kieran announces the surprise. Getting her attention I use my eyes motioning to down towards my plate, she mouths the word “now” at me and I nod. It’s now or never.

As always when she’s nervous or scared Kieran pulls her lip between her teeth, “Umm, since everyone is finishing up Jamie and I have a little surprise for everyone!” Our moms look at each other from across the table and I think they know where we’re going. “So if ya’ll look under your plates there’s an envelope for everyone,” Plates are quickly moved and all of the adults are now holding an envelope in their hands, “Alright, uhh 1…2…3.” Papers are flying and immediately my mom and Renee are in tears, our dads are smiling ,and Lauren has jumped out of her chair and used her long legs to get to Kieran first.

The card reads, “Our Little Turkey is coming June 2019” and Kieran’s pretty proud of the dorky announcement she chose. We both stand taking in the embraces from our family, our parents are all ecstatic to be adding to their roster of grandkids. There is no shortage of happiness in our house at this point everyone is thrilled for another child.

Finley is very confused when he's told that Aunt KiKi has a baby in her belly but he’s excited because everyone else is, and well Josie is too focused on her bottle to even care. Lauren has joined our mothers in crying and talking to Kieran’s stomach while Tyler and Cody congratulate me.Tyler jokingly calls dibs on Godfather but I realize that’s something Kieran and I will have to discuss soon enough.

We ask them to all keep it to themselves until we’re ready to tell the team and fans, which will most likely happen around Christmas when Kieran starts to show more. For now the important people know and Kieran and I can finally breathe again knowing the secret is kind of out. Watching all of the girls gush around Kieran asking her questions as she shows them the one sonogram picture we have I fall even more in love with my wife and my child. Jordie stands beside me clapping a hand on my shoulder, “Welcome to the club, bro.”

So I threw my old character Ari into this as Tyler's girlfriend because it's about time he settles down like the rest of them! ;) How adorable was that announcement? A new little turkey is joining the Benn's! Who's excited?! xoxo -Ally
