Lifesaver

'Kieran's POV'

Standing in the lobby of some big office building of downtown Dallas I tap the toe of my black heel against the marble floor while my phone dials Jamie's number for the 5th time. He should have left practice 30 minutes ago and he has yet to answer me, "Jamie, I swear to God you better be in a ditch somewhere or I am going to kill you myself!" I leave yet another voice mail as I look at my watch, only 10 minutes until our appointment with our wedding planners.

I dial once again and instead of going to voice mail it clicks to a very out of breath Jamie Benn, "Glad to know you're alive babe, but not for long if your ass doesn't walk through this door in the next 2 minutes!" it comes out a lot more angry than I meant it but it go my point across. "I'm sorry, I just had a lot of interviews babe. I'm here I swear I'm walking in, where are-"

Seeing Jamie's tall frame come through the door I can finally breathe, I look him up and down thankful he isn't wearing Stars apparel. He walks over to me and kisses my cheek, "Sorry I'm late, you look beautiful." Taking his hand I lead him into the elevator to the suite of the AK Event Design. As the door closes I brush off the wrinkles on the shoulders of Jamie's navy blue plaid long sleeve shirt, "Don't mind the voice mails I left you, they're not very nice." He laughs lightly, "Sor-" I cut off the Canadian boy from saying sorry again by crashing my lips into his. "You're here now, that's all that matters."

Stepping off the elevator we're greeted by a blonde haired girl about my age dressed all in black, "Hello, ya'll must be Jamie and Kieran?" We both nod and the girl rises from her chair, "Follow me, they're ready for ya'll." Jamie's hand falls to the small of my back as we're lead into a sleek looking office overlooking the city. Another older woman all dressed in black is sitting behind a white desk with a stack of papers in front of her, just the sight of all of that makes me nervous. She stands as we enter extending her hand and introducing herself as Sarah, she asks us to sit and the process begins.

'Jamie's POV'

I know that as a guy I'm not supposed to know a whole lot about weddings, but what this lady is talking about is like a foreign language. There are abbreviations and weird terms, check lists, and traditions that she goes over with Kieran and I. Kieran's just as lost as I am as she hands the woman the book her mom got us, the only things filled out are the wedding date and wedding party. Everything else we needed a little, or maybe a lot of help with.

"So have you guys thought about where you want to actually get married? Kieran you're from the Dallas area correct?" Kieran nods along, "Yeah, I've been to a few weddings in the area but I'm not sure where I want, I mean we haven't talked about it really." I feel kind of bad for how little we've talked about the wedding, we're both really busy and would rather talk about other things when we do have time together.

"Okay, well let's start with the basics then," the woman states opening up a book of venues "I know it's hard for athletes to plan events, and well you actually have a job too so I completely understand, ya'll are busy. So indoor or outdoor?" Kieran looks at me then back at the woman, this question we actually have an answer to! "Outdoor wedding, indoor reception." Sarah smiles flipping through the thick book, "Excellent, I think I know the perfect place." She pushes the book towards us showing a place called The Milestone, it was gorgeous with rolling green grass, a spot on the water and a large mansion.

"Oh, wow." Kieran let out quietly, "Do you like it? You said less than 200 people and this is perfect for that, you can do inside and outside there's also a barn if you wanted to let out your Texas side." Kieran giggled, "Jame doesn't have much of a Texas side," her hand was on my arm as she joked. But she was right a barn wasn’t really my thing, even though it was gorgeous.

45 minutes later and a phone call to the Milestone we were all set, they held the date for us and scheduled a day for us to tour the facility before making our final decision. Out of all the venues in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area it was the one that stood out the most. Sarah congratulated us one last time and wished me luck on the rest of the season, I thanked her and promised her a few Stars tickets for our next home game. On the ride down to the lobby Kieran leaned her head on my shoulder, "See, that wasn't so bad!" I tell her wrapping an arm around her waist. "I feel like she's going to be our lifesaver during this whole thing, there's no way we could have done it alone."

Placing a kiss on her forehead the door slides open and I walk her out to her car, "Love you, I'll see you tonight. Don't forget to take Knox for a walk!" Kieran says climbing up into her Jeep making it look effortless even in heels. "Yes ma'am, I love you too." I grin closing her door as she heads back to her office. No doubt in my mind I’d marry that girl anywhere she wanted, hell I’d marry her tomorrow or right now if I could.

Wedding Planner

Kinda wish Jamie had a country side.. But I guess that would be more Jordie's style! Researching Dallas wedding venues is insane, they are all soo beautiful!! Next stop is a dress ;) xoxo - Ally
