A Second Chance at Love

I woke up with the worst hangover ever. I felt like my head was going to explode and I was going to throw up at any minute. Rainy had left water, aspirin and breakfast on the table letting me know she took the boys out with Danielle. I was laying in bed freshly showered, half naked when she came back in.

"Mhhhmm put on some clothes sexy." she protested..

"I couldn't even if I wanted to Raina Lee. I feel like I'm gonna puke."

She just laughed. "Well we shall see how skilled you guys are, you should see how many drunk guys there are floating around this hotel. Did you check on your teammates yet? Jeff and Pam's room was still quiet. Megan and Claude met us for breakfast and I haven't heard anything from Mike."

I picked up the phone and dialed Mike's room. "Come to my room. I'll share my breakfast" I said when he answered and Raina burst out laughing.

We laid around most of the day. I went back to the pool eventually with everyone. I noticed Pam seemed subdued and went over to her. "Whats the matter dear. You don't look good. Massive hangover?" I asked.

She look almost a light shade of green. "No clue Dan, I didn't even drink last night." I swam over to the bar and found Jeff. "Yo, you better check on Pam. She doesn't look good at all. And I would consider the fact that she may be pregnant. She looked the way Sylvie did with Cam." Jeff broke into a huge grin and started off towards her. I hoped I was right for his sake. He looked genuinely happy.

I took Caelan out shopping after swimming to get something for Raina. We went into downtown Ottawa. I wanted to get her something nice. She looked totally uncomfortable today. You could tell the pregnancy was really getting to her. I wasn't looking for anything in particular. We finally wandered into a small jewelry store and Calean decided she would like a watch. He picked out a modest Cartier with a diamond bezel. We took a cab back to the hotel and wandered around for a little before going back upstairs.

Raina and Cam were sound asleep when I got back. They were cuddled together and absolutely adorable. Mike was playing X box with Carson and Ryan. "So she is sleeping again huh." I asked.

"You know bro, she has perfected her whiny voice. But Mikey I am so tired, I can't keep my eyes open, blah blah blah. Dude, I cant say no to her." I just laughed at him. I knew the feeling.

I curled up beside her and placed the box next to her. "Wake up sleepyhead. We need to get ready to leave."

She opened the box and smiled. "You spoil me Daniel. I Love you."

We finally got dressed and headed towards the arena. Jeff came in grinning which I took as a good sign. He pulled the three of us aside. "So yeah in keeping with the trend Danny boy has set, Pam is knocked up." Mike hugged him and I swear they had a true bromance moment when there may have been a tear or two shed.

"Come on losers, let's kick some ass." Claude said, calling us towards the door.

The skills challenge was fun even though we lost. Most of my teammates were too hungover to perform but we got plenty of laughs in. We decided to stay in once it was over and headed up to the room.

I carried Ryan, who was sound asleep. "Goodnight Daddy" his small voice said as I lowered him into the bed. I just laid there for awhile with my arms around him. Raina stood at the door smiling. I finally got up and put my arms around her. "Don't think I was too drunk to remember what I said last night. I really do want you as my wife as soon as possible." I kissed her and pulled her towards our bedroom.
