The beat of "Come & Get It" by Selena Gomez pounds through my headphones. Did that really just happen? Patrick Kane? He seemed so friendly. Wait. Tessa. Stop. You're supposed to be mad at him. He did not call even once after he was drafted to the Chicago Blackhawks. I never called him because I didn't have his number but he knew mine. I was heartbroken those few months after he left.

After he left, I focused more on figure skating and achieving my goal of winning an Olympic medal. And here I am today. I look at the clock. 9:12. Crap. I was supposed to meet Soph and Mark 12 minutes ago.

"Sorry, guys. I got distracted." I apologized just like every competition.

"C'mon, Tess. Get ready, we need to be down in 30 minutes!" Mark replied.

One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Deep breaths. The music started and my legs moved effortlessly. I can hear the sound of my skates on the ice. It was so relaxing that I forgot that I was even performing. And just like that it was already over.

Walking back to my hotel room with my gold medal around my neck, I felt proud when yet again, for the second time that day, I run right into Patrick Kane's chest.

"Oof. Sorry."

"Oh hey! Congrats on winning!"

"Thanks. Did you win today?"

"Yup. 2-0 against Anaheim. So..you wanna grab dinner with me and the boys?"

"Uh..sure. I just need to drop my stuff off."

Stupid. Really? Dinner? Well, at least there will be other people and plus I've always wanted to meet the Blackhawks.

The restaurant was really nice and I liked to see so many hunky men in front of me so I shouldn't be complaining.

"So, Tessa, how do you know Kaner, here?" Jonathan Toews asked with his Captain Serious face on.

"Well, I met him at a subway station in New York when I was 15 and he likes to think that he was the hero that saved me from falling in the tracks."

"I totally saved your ass. Haha!" Pat cried.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night..."

What was I doing? Ok, Tessa, this is not the time to open up to him.

"I had a great time but I really need to head back now. I have an early flight to New York tomorrow but it was nice meeting you all!"

"We're headed to New York tomorrow too! Maybe we'll see you there!" Sharp replied.

"Yeah, maybe. Well, I'll see ya around!"

Pat gave me a hug. His strong arms around me made me feel like a teenager again. Of course, as a young girl, I always had a thing for Pat, I mean who wouldn't. We were best friends for a year and he knows me better than anyone else. He asked me out once a few weeks after we met and I agreed. After 2 weeks of dating, he said that he thought we would be better off friends. All the memories rushed back. I walked away, pushing away my tears.

"Hey, Tessa, I'll take you back to your hotel!"

I look back to see a very tall Jonathan Toews behind me. He was a giant at 6" 2" when I was only about 5" 3". "Oh, ok, thanks."

"No problem. I'm at the same hotel and I need some rest for tomorrow."

"Yeah, so how long have you been a Blackahawk?"

"Since 2007. And Kaner has told me that you're a figure skater. How's that?"

"It's my life. It feels so good on the ice, ya know? Not being on the ice makes me feel like I can't breathe. I guess you could say I'm pretty passionate about it."

"I know what you mean. I'm pretty passionate too. Others laugh at me when I talk about hockey so passionately but it's my career."

"Yeah, from what I've seen, you're amazing."

"And you're like the best figure skater in the world. Oh, we're here. It was really nice to get to know you Tessa. We should get together sometime. Come to our game tomorrow?"

"Sure, that would be fun and thanks again for walking me back."

We exchanged numbers after and said our goodbyes. Wow. Jonathan Toews. Boy was he some eye candy. Yawn. Well off to bed.
