I skated around on the ice with my stick trailing behind me in my right hand. I sighed and did a figure 8. "Can I skate here?"someone asked. I looked up. It was Sid. I smiled and said,"Of course." I stayed on one half of the rink and Sid stayed on the other. He minded his own business and stayed in his space. I shot pucks at the net and scored each one of them. I skated around my side of the rink. Sid didn't look at me at all. He was skating side to side. I took out my phone and checked the time. It was 8:43am. I've been here for 2 hours now. I skated around for about half an hour and then skated off the ice. I walked into the locker room and changed into my clothes. I bit my lip as Sid entered the room. He didn't even glance at me. Sid grabbed a stick and taped it. Then he left. I sighed and got up, slinging my bag onto my shoulder. I walked out of the arena and to my car. I saw Sid come out of the arena still in his equipment. He came over to me and handed me my lucky bracelet. "You dropped this on the ice,"Sid said. "Thanks,"I said as I slid it on. Sid started walking away. "Wait,"I blurted out. "What?"he asked, turning around and looking at me. "What's your problem?"I asked. Sid said,"Nothing." "You sure?"I questioned. He said,"Yeah." "Then why are you ignoring me?"I asked. Sid said,"I don't know. I'm sorry. I didn't really mean to." I smiled and asked,"So we're good?" Sid nodded. I ran up to him and hugged him. He hugged back. I smiled and pulled away. "Thanks,"I said. "Why don't you wait here while I get changed and we'll get breakfast?"Sid directed. I said,"Sure. I'd love that." Sid ran into the arena. He came back out 10 minutes later. We went to McDonald's and had breakfast together. It was fun. I was glad that we were able to talk and become friends again just like the olden days. I said,"I should go now." "Okay, but I have to ask you something,"Sid said. I said,"Go ahead." He asked,"Are you going out with Tanger?" I suddenly understood everything that's been going on for the past few days. I asked,"Why do you care?" "I was just wondering,"Sid said, looking down and shoving his hands into his pockets. I started walking away. I'm not telling him anything. "Is that a yes?"he asked, catching up to me. I sighed and shook my head. He smiled and said,"Good." "Why?"I asked, raising an eyebrow and crossing my arms. My face was an inch away from his. I was actually...enjoying it? I bit my lip as I stepped away from him. Sid's smile dropped a little bit. Nah. I must just be imagining things. I started walking away. I was in the parking lot next to my car when Sid ran out and grabbed my wrist. "There's something I've always wanted to do,"he said. Sid leaned in and kissed me passionately. I pulled away breathless. I got into my car and drove away as Sid did the same.
