You were always the One

"Hello?" Jonathan said on the line.
"Oh thank god. I couldn't hear him whine another minute about missing you" Kane yelled on the other line.
I sat down on the couch and let out a small laugh.
"Hi Kane"
"Hi Nina"
"Enough about Kaner. What are you up to beautiful?" Jon said while walking away.
"Nothing hanging out with the team"
"Oh look at you hanging out with the boys"
"Yup they are actually fun and probably better than you guys"
"Oh I'm hurt"
"Oh did I hurt little Taz's heart?"
"Baby you know you are the only one that has my heart"
"Oh Jon" I said while playing with my locket.
It's a completely strange situation that we are in. We always had this connection but never pursued it. Mainly cause we both work for the same company. I didn't want it to ruin our career. But when I announced I was leaving, our relationship started. We hooked up at my going away party and most of the summer until I left. We never really discussed what we are.
"I'm coming over there this weekend"
"Really? You don't have to"
"I insist, I really miss you"
"I miss you too" when I said that the sliding door open.
I looked up and saw Brassard coming into the house. He nodded his head and I did the same.
"Babe?"
"Oh sorry, listen I better get going" I said.
"Ok can we Skype later?"
"Of course"
"Be safe beautiful"
"I will handsome, bye"
"Bye love"
I sighed and quickly got up.
"Missing him ha?" Brassard said.
"I guess it's complicated"
" I know what you mean" he said while grabbing a beer.
I raised an eyebrow and looked at him.
He burst into laughter "what's with the face?"
"Sorry curiosity got to me. By the way were are you from?"
"I come from Hull, Canada"
"Canadian, eh?"
"Ha yup, I guess you know a lot about Canada. Especially Winnipeg eh?"
"You're pretty witty my friend" I said while grabbing the beer from his hand.
I quickly walked back outside and saw that everyone was eating. A few drinks later and a few games of beer pong. I was hanging out on the deck with my head on Zuc's shoulder. Even thou he almost took my nose off, he's actually a sweetheart.
"Nina come be my partner" Derick yelled.
Zuc's looked at me "he must really like you"
"I have that charm" I said while getting up.
We are up against J Moore and Glass. They were dam good too. We had two cups and they had one left. It was Derick's turn and I whispered into his ear.
"Come on Brassy, show them how Canadians do it"
He smiled at me and threw the ball. It kept spinning at the rim. We all held our breath and it went in. We all cheered and it was my turn.
"Alright New Yorker, you got this" I gave him a quick wink and laughed. I placed the small ball at finger tips and aimed it to cup. I stayed focused and threw the ball. All of a sudden I got picked up and everyone cheered.
"We won!!!" brassard yelled.
"Woo hoo!!!!" I yelled back.
The rest of the night was filled with laughs and giggles. I stopped drinking after the game and slowly started to sober up.
I looked over at my watch " 12:50"
"I better get going" I said while getting up.
"No!!!" They all tell.
"Yes and you guys better get to bed"
"Yes mom" they all yelled again.
I laughed and walked back to my car. It only took twenty minutes to get back to my hotel room. I quickly changed into one of Jon's old shirts and put on some boy shorts. I grabbed my Mac and saw that Toews was online.
I quickly clicked his name and he popped up on the screen.
"Ugh you are trying to kill me!" He said threw the screen.
"Ha how is that?"
"You are wearing my shirt and only wearing underwear"
"I didn't think you would notice"
"Ha baby I notice everything. How was your evening"
We continued talking and I woke up the next morning. He was till on my screen asleep with his messy brown hair everywhere. I smiled to myself and looked over at the clock.
"8:00 am" I quickly got up and headed to the shower. I still had makeup on my face and my hair was a mess. The shower was running and I jumped in. When I was done and had the towel wrapped around me. I went back into my room.
"seriously can't wait till Saturday" I heard Jon.
"Ha in your dreams baby"
"Please baby you are in my mind all the time"
"Well I have to start my day, soo...."
"Don't mind me I will fall back asleep" he said with a wink.
I rolled my eyes and threw the pillow at the screen. I ran to my suit cause changed into a pair of jeans and blue ranger v neck. I put a bit of eyeliner and mascara. My hair was placed into a side braid.
"Ok Toews I gotta go" I said while jumping back at the screen.
"Ew change shirts"
"No I work for them now"
"Fine, text me later"
"Ok have a good day Hun"
"Same to you Bae"
I blew him a kiss and he grabbed. He gently placed on his cheek. I shut the laptop and packed my gym bag. Once I was set, I was on my way to the center.

I completely forgot to text Jonathan today, it has been non stop at the rink today. I had to help Jim do physicals and drug tests on each player. We aren't even half done and need to finish tomorrow. I quickly changed into a pair of leggings and a old tank top. The music that was going threw my ears started to pump me up. I love going to the gym. Yea that sounds weird " I love going to the gym" but I honestly do. I love sweating and throwing my body into physical excises. The gym was quite and empty. I quickly stretched and jumped on the stair master.
Two minutes later and ten songs later, I was doing arm exercise with weights.
"New York!!!" I heard Kredier yell and pull the headphones out of my ears.
"Kreds! Whats going on?" I said while putting the weight down.
"Nothing just seeing you tone those guns of yours"
I quickly rolled my eyes " ha they are better then yours"
"Oh you got jokes" he said while stretching.
"Are you guys having a team workout?"
"No a few of us are here on our own"
"Oh okay, well don't mind me. Im gonna be over there working out"
"Have fun"
I smiled back and continued working out on the machines. I was lost in the music and in my own mind. I was doing my last rep on the lat pull-down machine.
"Dam girl! Look at that back and those arms" Hags said.
"why thank you! Hard work and dedication right here" I said while kissing my arms.
" I can see, come and work out with us?" he offered.
"Can you guys catch up?" i said with a smirk.
"Please, Coronel can you keep up with us?" Mats said while running on the treadmill.
"Yea I can short stuff" I said while spotting Hags.
"Seriously I love you" Kreider said.
"Yeah Yeah"
We were doing some more weights, when Johnny Boy and Brass walked in. My heart completely stopped and I almost dropped my water bottle. Something about Derick just attracted me to him. Especially that french accent of his.
"Hey Guys" Matts said to them.
"Hey what are you guys doing?" John asked.
"Arms, Nina here is showing off" Mats said.
I hit him in his abs and rolled my eyes "Whatever"
"Nina let's see what you got" brassard said.
"What with pull ups?" I asked him.
"Yea" Hags said.
"Come on New Yorker, prove yourself" Kreider yelled.
"All right boys get ready to be shown out by a girl.
I took my headphones out and gave my phone to Brass. I rubbed my hands and jumped up to the bar. I love pull ups, mainly cause I love the looks on the guys faces.
"Shit New York, you are truly amazing" J Moore said.
All the boys mouth dropped even further when I was doing one hand pull ups. After the third set of tens of both arms. I jumped off.
"Done" I said with a sweet smile.
"Woe, Zuc's your turn" Brass said.
"Yea ok" he said while staring at me.
"My job is done here" I said while grabbing my phone.
"What are you doing tonight?" Hagelin asked.
I quickly grabbed my water bottle and towel. Sweat was dripping all over my forehead.
"Probably order room service and catch up on some shows"
"Nonsense, come over the place and we will have a movie night" Brass said while taking a sip from his bottle.
The boys eyes widen and looked at each other with a confused look.
" um sure, how about seven?"
"perfect, see you then" he quickly waved goodbye and walked into the locker room.
I waved back and felt my cheeks turn red. I quickly turned around and saw the rest of the boys huddled into a group. They were whispering and kept looking at me.
"Ok girls, whats the gossip?"
"nothing we are just surprised" Hags said.
"About?"
"you and Drock" Zuc's said astonished
"What do you mean?"
" That he is actually taking a liking to you"
"oh wow"
"No thats not what zuc's mean" Hags said while pushing Zuc.
"What he means is that, Brass is a real shy guy. Especially around new people. We are just surprised that he opened up to you" Kreider explained.
"yea thats what I meant" Zuc's said.
"Shut up" we all said and I just quickly walked back into my office.
As soon as I got into the empty office, I quickly sat down on the couch. My breath started to get into a normal rhythm.
The door knocked "come in"
"Hey, whats your favorite meal?" Brass asked.
"Um i love all types of food"
"ok, how about something that a non experience can cook?"
"ha how about spaghetti and meatballs?"
"ok i can try that. See you later New Yorker" he said with a smirk.
