It's a Girl's Game
Chapter 29
Anyone who has ever seen Jamie play, whether it be in the Liiga, NHL or international, knows she always wants to play better against Swedes. It's some weird competence thing where she always wants to top people and be the best.
In some ways this is good, the pens are after all playing the Rangers, but Jamie sometimes does stupid stuff. Take the first game for instance:
Jamie was skating on a breakaway and knew she had a pretty good chance of scoring.
She shot the puck and it hit net behind Lundqvist. When Jamie went to turn her stick tapped, barely touched Lundqvist and he fell to the ground as if he got hit by a truck. Now just for your information that would have tied the game.
The referee saw him fall and called a tripping call. The goal also did not count now and Jamie was beyond ticked. What was said next should never be repeated. Since the goal got reversed and the penguins could not score another to tie it, we'll they did but goalie interference got called that wasn't there.
During the post game interviews Jamie had to bite her young to not say something she would regret. Most of what she wanted to say involved calling the referees suck ups and toys to the Rangers. Also it involved calling Lundqvist a clown and disgrace to hockey.
One thing everyone on the penguins realized right then was that when Jamie didn't want to talk, she wouldn't. She would do anything to avoid having to make conversation. Most of the time it was because she didn't want to be rude to one of her teammates, or she was REALLY mad at someone. This time it happened to be the latter.
"Jamie, come on. You can't ignore us forever," Ian Cole said poking Jamie in the arm.
"I suggest it you want to keep that hand you will stop touching me and leave me alone," Jamie threaten.
"We just want to know what's wrong," Steve Downie said.
"You know I'll tell you what's wrong. The refs tonight were a complete and utter joke. They were obviously playing for the Rangers but I couldn't call them out unless I wanted to get into trouble. Also Lundqvist is a French clown and a disgrace to the sport. Can't even get tapped with a stick without acting as of he was shot!" Jamie ranted.
"Makes sense," Ian said, "but what's a French clown?"
"You know, those people in France who pretend to trapped in boxes and such. They have a white face and dress in black."
"You mean mimes?" Ian asked.
"Yeah, they're not clowns. They always freaked me out," Jamie said.
"They're not clowns sweeting and they're not just in France," Ian said.
"Oh."
"Yeah, oh. So, are you going to talk now that you got that out of your system?" Steve asked.
"Yeah."
"Good, you're a pain when you're mad."
After a successful second game, Jamie and the Penguins headed back to Pittsburgh with a tied series. Jamie got an assist but also had a goal turned over. She headed over to Olli's place when the team got back to Pittsburgh.
"Open the door Maatta!" Jamie yelled banging the door.
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" Olli yelled, "No need to break door the door."
"About time."
"So," Antti trailed off, "How much longer before you completely flip?"
"Antti," Olli warned.
"No, I want to see what she says," Antti said.
"Depends on what they do tomorrow. I'm either going to call out the refs or the Rangers, wither works for me," Jamie shrugged.
"Jamie promise me one thing," Olli said.
"What?"
"Don't do anything stupid."
"I won't make a promise I can't keep," Jamie said.
"Jamie!"
"Fine I won't do anything stupid," Jamie mumbled, "Maybe."
"Jamie!"
"Fine!"
Love it so much
