We had met up with a bunch of our friends from childhood at a bar and like our parents, they were happy to see the two of us together after all these years. “I told you guys that they would be together. It’s time to pay up” Ryan and Caitlin said to the group of 4 other people. “Pay up?” I had asked. “Remember how we would make bets on each other? Well we’re still doing that.” Ryan had informed Jamie and I. “Well I’m glad to see that didn’t change”. “I’m glad that you two are together still” Marie said, not realizing that still for me meant moving across the country to even live with Jamie. “Y’all, Jamie and I” I tried to say, but everyone started talking at once. “We aren’t together” Jamie said after glancing at me to see if I was okay and Ryan and Caitlin gave everyone their money back. “I thought I could count on you” Ryan said to Jamie. Some time passed and I had 3 Jack and Cokes and I was dancing with Marie and Caitlin when some creepy guy came and started grinding on me. I told him to knock it off, but he didn’t. And as he always does, Jamie came to save the day “She told you to get off of her, did she not? You have until the count of 5 to get the hell out of here” he said to the creepazoid, all overprotective over me. After hearing that, the guy left and everyone came to me to see if I was okay and what happened. "I just want to go home" I said handing Jamie the car keys. "Jamie, you don't need to" I started saying once we got into the car and he kissed me. "I have been wanting to do that for years" he said
