The next day at Kettler, Mike came in early and walked into the training room. Anna Maria looked up at him. "What can I do for ya?" She asked. Mike looked confused, but he recovered quickly.

"Um, last night I hurt my wrist." He said. "I was wondering if you could tape it up for practice."

"Of course, Hon." Said Anna Maria. Mike sat down on the exam table while she wrapped his wrist. She was like a whole new person. She was happy and pleasant. No darting eyes and sudden movements.

"You're all set!" She said when she cut the last piece of tape.

"Thanks." Said Mike as he walked out of the room to get ready for practice. Mike shook his head as he suited up for practice. What the hell had happened to the weird nervous girl that worked here yesterday?

After practice the team gathered in the showers.

"Anyone notice how different Anna Maria seemed today?" Asked Brooks.

"Yeah." Said Alex. "Do you think she was just nervous yesterday?"

"I have no idea." Said Mike. "I just think its weird.”

“Hey!” shouted Anna Maria as she stood outside the locker room covering her eyes. “I’m coming in. Are y’all decent?” The guys all wrapped towels around themselves.

“Yes.” Said Tom. “And that was perfect.” Anna Maria laughed as she walked in.

“Thank you.” She said. “Mike, how’d your wrist hold up?” Mike’s wrist wasn’t actually hurt, he just wanted an excuse to see if Anna Maria would bring up what happened the night before.

“It felt good. Its not bothering me too much now. I think I just twisted it when I fell.” He answered.

​“Thats good.” She said, “But I have a paper with some stretches on it that I’ll leave by your stuff.” With that, she turned and walked out.
