Date Night... Or Not

The first thing Jackie did once she got back to her apartment was call Geno. She didn't know what to expect when Geno answered his phone, she just wasn't expecting what he said.
Jackie- can you do me a favor
Geno-what
Jackie- you know that pizza shop by TD Gardens? Get Sidney down there please.
Geno-why
Jackie- I'm following the advice of a Finn, I don't know why.
Geno- Sid likes you
To Jackie it seemed Malkin already knew why she wanted Crosby down to the pizza shop, she just didn't believe the last part. Sidney actually liked her even though her brother is Claude Giroux, captain of the most hated hockey team in Pittsburgh.
Jackie couldn't believe it, it didn't seem real. Right then Jackie knew she was screwed over big time. She had no idea what to do, between Crosby and Steve, she was just plained screwed.
There was nothing Jackie could do but worry about tomorrow's game, THEN freak out about her possible date.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jackie's mind was not on the game she was in. It was on her date with Crosby later that night. She had no idea how it was going to go and she was scared. Jackie Giroux was scared about going on a date, yet she could knee Corey Crawford 'where the sun don't shine', that didn't make much sense.
After a 3-2 win, one where Jackie did not help at all, she headed to her apartment to freshen up before she left for the pizza shop. Before she went to her apartment she stopped by Rask's place.
"What do you want Jackie?" he asked once he opened the door.
"I don't know what to wear," Jackie said.
"you've never been on a date?" Tuukka laughed.
"The last one I was on was in grade 7," Jackie cried.
"Why didn't you asked Hillary?"
"Yeah, cause I would go to her when I told her asked Sid on a date was idiotic, that makes perfect sense!" Jackie yelled.
"Listen Jack, it is a pizza date not some 5 star restaurant type of deal. Wear what you would on a regular get-together," Tuukka said closing the door.
"Thanks for your help!" Jackie yelled sarcastically. That did not solve her problem.
Half an hour later Jackie found herself standing in front of the pizza shot waiting for Sid. She was extremely nervous and had no idea how this would go. Two minutes after Jackie got there, Sid showed up wearing jeans and a T-shirt.
"Over here!" Jackie called hoping he remember her voice.
"Hey," Sid said sitting down on the other side of the outdoor table.
"Glad you could make it, I know a schedule like yours would be very busy," Jackie said trying to make a conversation.
"It's easier since I'm not in Pittsburgh."
"Makes sense," Jackie said, "Do just want to get a pizza and share it?"
"Sure."
"Pepperoni fine?"
"Yeah."
Jackie did not think doing this would be so awkward. Not only was it hard to hold a conversation, Jackie was soon finding out they had little in common, besides hockey. Then dumb and dumber and dumbest showed up, Tuukka, Torey and Dougie.
"Crosby!" Dougie yelled, "It's Crosby!"
"What?" Sid asked looking at Jackie.
"Jackie! Why!" Dougie yelled again coming up to the table.
"Dougie, shut up," Jackie growled.
"Why! You could have just told us you know," Torey said.
"Yeah, isn't this kind of like treason?" Dougie asked, "For both of you?"
"Um, I-I have to- to uh go," Sid stuttered getting up to leave.
One he was gone Jackie turned towards the three guys, "Thanks a lot, why do you have to ruin everything?"
"Jack, we didn't know, we were just surprised. We never would have thought the guy you like was Crosby," Torey said.
"Well I don't, at least not anymore," Jackie mumbled.
"Why?"
"He obviously doesn't feel the same way," Jackie said, "I have to go. Eat the pizza I don't want it."
"We screwed up didn't we?" Dougie asked.
"Yeah, you guys screwed up big time," Tuukka said, "Eat I have to go."
"See you later."
"Oh, and you better fix this."
"We will," were the last words out of Dougie's mouth.
