With the "Enemy"

This is Real Life

Jackie didn't know what to do after Tuukka told her she was on her own. Things like that don't happen very often. Ever since Jackie met Tuukka he's always been that guy she could go to for advice.
Jackie still didn't know what to do she even after 'slept' on her options. Hockey has always been her 'boyfriend' to say. She never gave falling in love a second thought. She also hated the fact she was currently dating someone head over heels in love with her, but she can't say the say.
Sidney Crosby had her hate the moment she saw him play in the 2010 Olympics. Not only was he a great player, but he was also a great person overall. She never understood how someone could call him a bad person.
Jackie was always an avid reader growing up, one of her all time favorites didn't come out until she was almost in college. In 2005 Rick Riordan came out with a book called The Lightning Thief. This was the first book the the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
Jackie fell in love with this series even though she was 18. She always got bullied for liking ice hockey and baseball, after all those were 'boy' sports. This is why she never really had a boyfriend or many friends for that matter, but her whole perspective changed after she read that book.
Reading those books over the years gave Jackie an escape from the real world. She learned that even though she was different from everyone else, she still could be a hero. The first book in the following series, The Heroes of Olympus, might have helped Jackie right about now.
There were a couple of love triangles, and that was exactly what Jackie found herself in right now. The only problem was, those were books, but what she in a real life situation. Books are good, but they can't always help someone when they are just fiction and the person is living.
That's really how Jackie found herself talking the the least likely person: Dougie Hamilton. Even though he was annoying the crap out of her before, Jackie figured he was the person who would be able to help her the most.
"Let me get this straight, you came to me for love advice?" Dougie asked when Jackie got to his apartment.
"Yes," Jackie cried, "You've had girlfriends before, right?"
"Yes, still don't see why you came over, but come one in." Dougie invited Jackie into his apartment.
"Dougie, I know this is weird for the both of us, but you have to understand, I need your help," Jackie begged.
"Alright, tell me your problem."
"I don't love Steve like I thought I did and Sidney still likes me," Jackie rushed out.
"I'm confused, why don't you just dump Steve and date Crosby?"
"I can't do that!"
"Why not it seems pretty simple," Dougie shrugged.
"I don't know if I like Sidney, I mean he's one of the sweetest and cutest guys I know, but still. Plus he plays for the Penguins."
"What does that have anything to do with anything?" Dougie asked.
"My brother plays for the Flyers," Jackie added.
"Last time I checked that doesn't matter. Listen Jackie, you really need to figure this out before things get too serious with you and Mason, got it?"
"Yeah," Jackie muttered, "Thanks for listening."
"Good luck."
"Thanks." With that Jackie got up and left without another word. Dougie was right she couldn't continue this relationship with Steve, it was the best thing for both of them.
