Sidney wasn't sure why Jackie was asking him that. She easily could have looked on the Penguins' website or asked Malkin.

After a couple more texts, Sidney and Jackie worked out the details and knew exactly when and where they would meet up in Calgary. Sidney wasn't sure what Jackie wanted to talk about, but he was determined to figure out.
"Hey, do you know what's up with Jackie?" Sid asked the next time he saw Malkin.
"Huh?"
"Do you know why Jackie would want to see me when we are in Calgary?"
"No."
"Do you at least have a guess?"
"She love you."
"Isn't she with Mason?" Sid asked bitterly, causing Geno to shake his head.
"They no longer."
"They broke up?"
"Yes."
"So you mean Jackie is single and I get a second chance?" Sid asked, getting a little too excited.
"Second chance?"
"Yeah, I screwed up the first time and now I get to try again. I can't screw this up and I need to tell her that I don't care who her brother is, I want her."
Sid couldn't believe Jackie was single, he also couldn't believe the universe was giving be a second chance. Since the day he screwed up my love life, he's been wanting to change it. he wanted to tell Jackie just how he about her.
Sidney didn't know if he would ever have a second chance at the girl of her dreams. After he was interrupted by the Bruins, who apparently Jackie was very close with, he was getting his second chance at love.
Sid was positive he was not going to blow it this time, even if he did, then he would know it was never meant to be. Then he would let Jackie got, then he was going to move on and not bother with her anymore.
Even though her brother was the enemy, all Sidney Crosby wanted to do was take the plunge into love. To see just where he will end up after all of this is done. And he wouldn't have it any other way.
