With the "Enemy"

"Your sister is a-"
"Steve what did Jackie do?" Claude asked.
"She broke up with me!"
"Why would she do that?" Claude asked, "I thought you guys were good."
"We were then she dumped me."
Steve or Claude could not figure out why Jackie would break up with Steve. As far as anyone was concerned Jackie Steve were perfect. They never really fought or got into arguments and they always had each other's backs. They were the perfect high school couple.
Everyone on the Flyers thought maybe Jackie was the one for Steve. They watched him go from girl to girl for many years with claims he was going to find the one he was going to settle down with and start a family, that never happened.
Claude didn't know why Jackie would break up Steve, she knew his past and realized he is different now. There was no way Jackie would let someone's past dictate the way she feels about someone. Especially when she is already good friends with said person.
Jackie knew why she broke Steve's heart, she also knew she will be filling the after effects of it for weeks to come. Jackie was positive she made the right choice when she broke things off with Steve, she knew that for certain.
She was sitting on her bed on her laptop when she heard someone knocking repeatedly on her door. "I'm coming, I'm coming."
"Jack, I'm so sorry," Hilary Knight said after she hit Jackie in the face.
"It's fine," she said, rubbing her nose, "What do you want?"
"What's going on between you and Steve Mason?"
"What are you talking about?" Jackie asked.
"Something must be wrong because you didn't meet up for coffee earlier."
"Hill, I'm sorry it slipped my mind," Jackie apologized.
"So, what is up with you and Steve, it's obviously something."
"We broke up," Jackie whispered, it finally hitting her.
"What?"
"Hilary, Crosby likes me and I still like so I cut things off with Steve," Jackie explained.
Now that she was hearing everything out loud, it hit Jackie like a freight train. Sidney Crosby did in fact have feelings for her and Jackie had feelings for Sidney. Also Jackie's brother is going to kill her when she finds out.
"Jackie, you really need to figure out your love life," Hilary laughed.
"I know, I've never been good with this whole love thing. For the longest time hockey have been the only thing I care about," Jackie said.
"You know that sounds like a personal problem."
"My love life is a biscuit," Jackie said.
"Biscuit, I like it."
"I just really hope my Claude doesn't kill me when he finds out the truth."
"Good luck Jackie, see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow Hilary."
Claude could not find out about her love life, Jackie had to make sure of it.
