A Missing Puzzle Piece
Chapter 3
Ilya’s POV
“Can I talk to Travis for a second?” I asked. I was sure he was Molli’s ex. You just had to look into his eyes to see it. He OBVIOUSLY loved her.
Nicole nodded. I recognized that look. It was a gentle warning. She didn’t think Travis was it. Except he was.
Travis turned to me. “What’s up?”
I took a breath. This would be hard. “Do you know Molli?”
Travis looked at me. “Uh, I guess.”
“When did you meet her? I mean when did you meet her for the first time?” I rephrased.
Travis shook his head. “C’mon man I just met her when you all came in. Is it that obvious that I like her though?”
I looked at Travis. “You’re SURE you’ve never met her before tonight?”
“Yeah. I mean who could forget a girl like THAT?” Travis said.
I shook my head and smiled. “Good luck with her.”
Travis smiled like a little kid on Christmas morning. “Do you think I have a chance with her?”
I nodded. Molli obviously liked Travis. Travis just poured it out that he liked her, too. “Yeah.” I said all truthfully.
Travis smiled. “Cool. Will you put in a good word for me?”
I smiled. “No. Go get her yourself.”
Travis smiled. “Is she a nice girl?”
“Yeah. And she doesn’t drink. She’s probably smarter and more mature than anyone in this room. I think you guys would be good together.”
Travis was grinning like a fool. “I gotta go. It’s 8. Marty and Moose should be here any second.”
