Another Day in Nashville

Chapter 17-

I smiled over at James as he and his brother Peter were having a conversation about hockey. I enjoyed hearing him talk with his siblings. They were all alike.

"So Emilee, what do you do?" His mother asked me

"I'm a hair stylist." I replied

"That's great. James didn't tell us how you met, did you meet at the salon?"

I laughed "oh no. I live next door to Rich Clune. When James lived there, Richie introduced us."

James smiled "yeah I'll have to thank him one of these days."

"Have you lived in Nashville your whole life?" Rebecca asked

"No. I'm originally from Tampa."

"Awesome. So you're a Bolts fan?" Pete asked

"No. I'm a preds fan." I laughed

"She used to go to games with Richie. Before I got traded." James added

Shortly after dinner, the guys played a quick game of street hockey and then we started to get ready to go. "It was wonderful finally meeting you, Emilee." His mother said hugging me

I smiled hugging back "it was great meeting all of you. Thanks so much for dinner, it was amazing."

"Oh no problem sweetheart. James are you going to stop by tomorrow before you go?"

"Yeah, mom. We'll stop by." He smiled hugging his mom "bye. Love you."

"Love you both." His mom replied

I smiled and grabbed james' hand as we headed out the door "you're family is wonderful."

"Told you, you had nothing to worry about." James replied kissing me "Emmy?"

"Yeah, James?"

"Thanks for coming with me."

I smiled "thanks for asking me."

"Emmy?"

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

I smiled and looked over at him "I love you too, James."

"Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah?"

James took a deep breath "Well, I know we haven't been together for very long, but I've wanted to ask you this for a while..." he paused and I could feel my heart racing "Will you move in with me? When we get back to Nashville?"

I sighed relief "Holy shit, James...you almost gave me a heart attack..."

"Why?" he asked innocently

"I thought you were about to propose!" I said smacking his arm

James laughed "Now that would be too soon. Not thinking about marriage yet..."

"Good." I replied

"So...will you? I mean you practically stay with me when I'm home anyways...and I figured it would help with Nixon...so we wouldn't have to run him to your place when I leave."

I thought for a minute. He was right. I did practically live there. But was I really willing to give up my place and move in with a guy I'd been dating only a month? "Can I think about it?"

James smiled and nodded "Sure. Take all the time you need." he said kissing me
