Another Day in Nashville

"You can't marry him." Erika snapped at me on the phone.

I had called mom and dad to tell them I was marrying my boyfriend and Erika had gotten wind and called me. "Why not?"

"You know why!"

"Why? Because he has tattoos? Because he's not Mormon? He LOVES me, Erika."

"You haven't known him for that long!"

"That doesn't matter. He loves me and I love him."

"Are you pregnant?"

"What? No!"

"Well then this is pointless."

"Wait...so you're telling me if the reason I was marrying him was because I was pregnant then you would be OK with it? That's bullshit. At least I'm not pregnant. I love him and he loves me and whether you like it, accept it, or think it's a bad idea, it is happening. I am marrying him. And you know what else? The only reason I even told any of you was because JAMES asked me to. He wants you all to be there." I snapped hanging up

James had came in from working outside. His white t-shirt was grass stained and his freshly shaven face had dirt on it, "Everything ok?"

I shook my head, "I called my family...."

"What did they say?"

"Mom and dad aren't that happy...but they said they will come. Erika is pissed."

"I'm sorry, Emmy." he said hugging me

"Ew...James...you're all dirty and sweaty." I laughed trying to pull from his grasp

"Nope. I am going to hug you until you're not upset." he smiled holding me tighter

I laughed and held him back "You're the greatest, James Neal."

"You're the greatest Emilee Donahue...soon to be Neal."

"Emilee Neal." I smiled "I like the sound of that."

"Me too." James said kissing me

"Good. Now go shower and clean up for lunch."

James grinned "What you don't like me all dirty?"

I smiled "I like you better when you're clean. Now go."

James laughed "Alright alright." he said heading up the steps

I smiled and started chopping up carrots for the soup I was making us for lunch. In a few short months, James and I would be married. We'd both decided to get married before the season picked up again. It was June and we'd have until September. I had been planning stuff with Rachel. I just wished my mom and sister would be willing to help with planning...but that was a lost cause and to be honest, I did even expect them to even show up.

James was laying in bed beside me, his glasses on, staring at his iPad with a confused look on his face "James? Are you okay?"

"Hmm? Oh. I'm talking to Paulie."

"Your friend from Pittsburgh?"

James nodded "yeah. Paulie. Well...he signed with San Jose. I'm asking him to be a groomsman."

I smiled "okay. Who do you want for your best man?"

"Probably my brother, Michael."

I nodded "what about Pete and Nick?"

"Ushers?"

"That sounds great. I'm asking Rachel to be my maid-of-honor...and probably another girl from the shop will be my other."

James nodded "sounds good." He said, setting his iPad on the night stand and rolling over on top of me with that smirk on his face

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I giggled

"You know." James smiled kissing my neck

I moaned, biting my lip, "James..."

His hands slid their way up my shirt and over my breasts "we've been so busy lately we haven't had time for ourselves..."

"I know." I replied pulling him closer and kissing him "now stop making me wait."

James laughed "you miss me, eh?" He smirked dragging his tongue along my neck

"Yes, James." I moaned

James smiled "I'll make it up to you." He replied, gently pulling me up to him and pulling my tank top off. He was reaching down to pull my shorts off when my phone rang. James frowned.

"Ugh...sorry, babe. One minute..." I said answering it "hello??" I started as James rolled off of me and back to his side

"Emilee?"

"Ethan..."
