Chapter 1

"Do you really have to go to New York early?" Jamie pouted, watching her pack another suitcase.

"Yes. I got an urgent 911 call from Reese about the flagship store set up and casting, I have to go." Emily sighed.

"You don't even work for Michael Kors and you have to do a casting?"

Pulling her long brown hair back she shrugged, "He liked my choices in February for fashion week. I can't help it if he likes what I find."

"It's cause you people watch so much." Jamie laughed, then holding up a black lacy thong; "who are you wearing this for?"

"My New York boyfriend." She winked.

"I knew it. I'm going to miss you."

"Come with me. Like fly in tomorrow or something. I'll have some days off."

"But you like going to New York by yourself. And who's going to watch over the renos on the house?"

"I'm going to be in New York like once a month until the stores finished. And it'll be the vacation we've been wanting all summer. We can hold the renovations off for a week."

He watched her walk into the bathroom to gather her toiletries.

It would also delay them moving into the house for another week, but they were way ahead of schedule anyways it didn't matter.

He smiled at the thought of going to New York with Emily. He loved the city but only got to experience it in the winter.

He stretched out over a pile of her neatly folded clothes and announced, "I'll call the contractor in the morning and book a flight for tomorrow."

She bounded back into the bedroom with a huge smile on her face.

"Really! Now this is going to be a good business trip. And don't lay on those, those are expensive." She coiled her hair drier cord up, placing it in her suitcase.

"I'm excited. We can show each other the things we both like there."

"This is true. Maybe I can score tickets for a Yankees game."

"I looked and there wasn't anything avaliable." He frowned.

"It's all about who you know. And I know a lot of people."

He watched her pack her last suitcase, babbling on about their trip. Her accent switching from Southern to Maritime with the amount of sass he received, followed by muttering the occasional thing in Farsi.

He found it amusing that she was packing expensive designer clothing for meetings and such but yet she was wearing a Bass Pro hat, a white tank and cheap American Eagle jeans.

"I think I'm ready." She decided, zipping up her last suitcase.

"Three suitcases later. What am I going to pack with?" He said sarcastically
.
She gave him a quick swat, "you have your own."

"I know." He grinned.

She threw a pillow at his head, "Asshole."

"Your asshole."

"Yeah since I put my name down with yours on a house I guess I'm kinda stuck with you."

He lifted two off the bed to carry them downstairs and she grabbed the other one.
Loading them up into her Range Rover he watched her climb in the passengers side after placing her backpack in the back seat.

Nearing DFW she felt him grip her thigh, it happened every time they had to be separated even for a night.

"How about a dog?" He asked randomly.

"Yeah? Like a puppy?" She returned.

She saw a smile creep on his face.

"Yeah. There was an Australian Shepherd litter born a few weeks ago. They'll be ready by Halloween."

"Seriously! You want an Aussie now!"

"They are kinda cute and fluffy. I think it'll suit us. All boys."

"They are so cute and fluffy, like my boys back home. But when your not at work you have to really make sure that he's going to be entertained. Is there a black tri?"

"Yes. Do you want me to call the breeder and see if we can reserve him?"

"Please! It'll be practice for a baby."

She felt his hand move up her thigh; "While we practice making babies."

And idea popped into her head "Oh, honey."

"What?" She saw him furrow his brow, taking a quick glance at her.

She bit her lip, knowing it was going to drive him wild as she batted her eye lashes at him, letting him know what was on her mind.

"Get your mind out of the gutter." He shook his head.

"I don't know what you're talking about." She giggled.

She played with her pony tail as he pulled into the airport parking lot, looking for a place to park.
Finding one not to far from the door he took off to get a cart for her suitcases as she got her passports and travel documents out from her backpack.

Seeing the pout on his face she wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her chin on his chest, looking up at him. "I will see you tomorrow so turn that frown upside down mister." She smiled.

"I know. Its just that you have so much shit." He laughed.

"Three suitcases is hardly so much. I think I under packed."

He squinted his eyes at her, "say you under packed again and all your Boston stuff will be going in the donation box."

"You wouldn't." She gasped.

"Yes, I would." He grinned, reaching down and squeezing an ass cheek.

"Nooooo."

"I love you." He dropped his lips to hers, grazing them lightly.

"I love you too. I really need to get going."

As she watched him lift her suitcases and placing them on the cart she enjoyed seeing his biceps flex, especially with his sleeve that he added in the summer. Leading him into the airport she checked her bags in and got her tickets before walking with him to security.

"Call me when you land." He said quietly, pulling her in for one last kiss.

"Always do." She smiled.

Giving him what he asked she parted as she set her stuff in the bin to go through the x-Ray machine.

Once she was through security she turned around and found him still watching her,
"Babe!" She called out, "I underpacked!"

She watched him pull out his phone and her phone buzzed in her hand shortly after.
"That's it! In the donation box it all goes. ;)" It read.

She quickly typed her response; "Noooo. Rude. I can just buy more. Love you."

She watched him look at her phone as a grin spread on his face, quickly responding "Love you too. Now go to New York..."

Getting to the gate just as it was boarding she found her cushy first class seat, making the three hour flight as enjoyable as it could get. Landing in the hot humid early September New York City evening, she collected her luggage and climbed into the town car that was waiting for her at the arrivals gate. Making sure she called Jamie as she always did she was actually exhausted, making their conversation short as she arrived at her hotel, taking no time to fall asleep as soon as she got to her room.
