Chapter 34

With a month to go before the wedding, Emily has never been so stressed out before. Not even final exams were this stressful. And Jamie wasn't any help either. He was just moping about the house post second round elimination. His sweaty hockey gear sitting in the garage for two weeks, not even aired out or put in the wash.

RVSPs with starting to trickle in. She was doing everything. Seating arraignments, decorations. She even had her vows finished.

The last thing she needed was drama added to the mix, which is what Ali was trying to do. It added to her stress levels. Ali was pissed she wasn't in the bridal party, and had gotten to the point where she was going to be uninvited.

"Tyler you need to talk to your fucking girlfriend." Emily groaned as Tyler and Jason had come over for a visit with Jamie.

"She's not my girlfriend." Tyler growled.

"She's not listening to me. She's being a fucking cunt over not being asked to be in the bridal party, that was 6 months ago. Get the fuck over it. There are other people closer to me then she is." Emily rolled her eyes and Jamie came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders.

"What about your bridal shower?" Jordie knew he was opening a can of worms.

"Fuck no she's not coming. Speaking of which. Either one of you, or both of you, need to pick up your mother tomorrow. Mine comes in Friday. So the house needs to be spotless."

She knew she was being bossy. Jamie was taking it, Jordie was being as polite as possible, knowing anything could set her off.

She brushed Jamie off of her before she could really start delegating tasks, making her way upstairs, with Bailey hot on her heels.

Not only was Ali being psycho. She was also hanging around Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn was 100% terrified of Emily, and still 100% in love with Jamie.

"I can't wait to see the doctor tomorrow Bailey. Mommy definitely needs some anti-anxiety meds and some Botox." Emily sighed, laying on the bed with Bailey curling up next to her.

"You don't need Botox." Jamie said, coming into the bedroom.

"I've found 5 grey hairs in the past week. And I have 3 wrinkles on my forehead." She whined.

"Your nose job was enough." He frowned.

"I had to get a nose job, it was on the other side of my face. I've had Botox before." She grinned.

"Your resting bitch face should be natural enough Botox." He said dryly.

"Don't you have a golf game to get to?" She deadpanned.

"Not for another-we'll go now." He decided, seeing the annoyed look on her face, before retreating out of the bedroom.

"Your not going to get changed first?" She called after him.

"Right." He laughed, running back in, "they won't let me on the course in jeans and this shirt."

"You need to relax babe." She slid off the bed and leaned against the frame of the closet door.

"I'm stressed and high strung because you're stressed and high strung." He looked at her as he peeled his shirt off.

"Because I'm doing everything by myself. And then I have a psycho cunt blowing up my phone. On top of working 65 hour work weeks so I can take a month off. And making centre pieces for tables." She rolled her eyes and jumped back on the bed.

"You told me to focus on hockey while you take care of the wedding stuff. I told you if you need anything, to ask. Even if it's a feather placement." He pulled a golf shirt over his head.

"But hockey's over. Jamie we haven't even decided what to do for our honeymoon yet."

"Tonight, we're sitting down and getting all this shit finalized." He said sternly, the look in his eye stirring up a feeling below her naval.

There was something about Jamie's serious face when he put on the relationship pants that just made her want him. She loved dominate Jamie.

"Thank you. I just want this wedding to happen so we can go off the grid of a month and just be us."

"A week on an island and the rest of the month in Kelowna and Vic?"

"We should go see my parents in Hawaii too."

"And Maine in August. How the hell am I going to train for next season."

"You'll find time. You'll train when we're in BC."

"I thought you wanted my undivided attention when we're in BC." He smiled at her, sitting on their bed next to her.

"I do. But you need to train. Carey, Shea, all the guys are going to be in Kelowna."

"Because all their wives either don't work or have a lifestyle blog. Mine has a job in Dallas, so
no long hot summers in the sunny Okanagan for Jamie with the guys." He pouted.

"I hustle. Someone's gonna have to be the breadwinner when you retire." She smiled.

"I don't know where you are getting all this 'when you retire we won't have money' idea from. Em, I make enough for us to live comfortably on the rest of our lives. All the houses are paid off, our cars were paid for in cash." He said firmly.

"Yeah, but."

"Yeah, but nothing babe. I'm signing an extension this summer. We'll be here long term and my salary will go up."

"Jamie there's always that 1 percent. You can still get traded if you have a shitty season and they ask you to waive your no movement. Especially with Los Vegas getting a team. What if you get a concussion like Sid's and have to retire at say 28."

"Sid didn't retire."

"No, that's because he's crazy. And I really don't want you to be in a wheel chair by 35." She slid off the bed and turned to look him in the eye.

"I'm not going to be. I'm going to play as long as Jags." He assured her.

"You need to stop fighting then." She crossed her arms.

"You love it when I fight. And it's only against St. Louis because Backes is a dick." He pulled her in by her hips, kissing her neck.

"Yes. I do. You do it cause you know you can get into my panties then." She laughed.

"And I do love getting into those panties." He took a handful of her ass.

"You have a tee time." She reminded him, "and all your 'bros' are downstairs."

"They probably already think I've had my way with you."

"We should be celibate until our wedding night. One month to go." She laughed.

"No. Please no. That's not fair to me, or you. Especially since you will send me dirty pictures."

"No I won't. Can you also pick up the tables we rented on your way home? For my bridal shower Sunday."

"I was planning on taking one of the cars but I guess not." He rolled his eyes.

"Your brother has a truck I'm pretty sure." She smiled.

"Your such a pain in my ass." He sighed, getting up off the bed.

"Pot calling kettle." She smacked his ass walking by him.

"If your going to start that I will have my way with you later." He said, grabbing her arm and pulling her close to him.

"You say that like it's a threat." She laughed.

"It is. And I wanna see that ass bent over my bed later." He kissed her forehead.

"Your bed? I thought what's yours is mine and what's mine is yours?" She smirked.

"You're so annoying!" He whined.

A few hours later she found herself at lunch with Jess. She was the saving grace with the Ali drama. Jess didn't judge her, or Ali. She remained neutral but provided an ear for Emily to vent too.

"Do you think she'll show up to my bridal shower?" Emily asked Jess.

"After the Katelyn incident probably not. I still have that Slugger sittin in my garage."

"Where did it even come from?"

"You know what. No idea. It's got to be Jamie's. But I don't think I've even ever seen him swing a bat."

"Him and Jordie I guess where quite the ball players though."

"Well look at Randy. How did we get so lucky with those two."

"I have no idea. Who's coming to the bridal shower?"

"You better be. Calin's planned it with Steph, they're landing tonight. Rylee, Lyndon. Mom
and Heather, Shadi, Huda, Jenny, Jen Spezza-"

"Pretty much all the Dallas Stars wives and girlfriends minus Ali?"

"Not a way in hell is she showing up. And I wouldn't really consider her a WAG, she's just a fuck buddy really. Tyler and I had a bit of a talk. It was good."

"Tyler's like that gay best friend that actually isn't gay. He's great."

"You can take him shopping, get pedicures. And the boys don't get jealous! Despite us all knowing what Tyler's like."

"Tyler's loyal to his boys though. He'd never do a teammate wrong. If one was open to sharing a girl, then he'd go for it. What's left to get done for the wedding."

"We still haven't decided what to do for the honeymoon! That's the only thing really. We go get our marriage license this week, give final payment to the venue and meet with the pastor one last time. It's coming up so fast."

"What have you thought about for the honeymoon?"

"Somewhere hot. Either Greece, Cyprus, St. Bart's or Fiji."

"Oh! Fiji would be nice. And Thailand is right there. Take two weeks, a week in Fiji and a week in Thailand, Jordie and I will take Bailey."

"We're going to Hawaii for five days too, have to remember that."

"You two have never gone on a real vacation. What was the last foreign country you two went to? That either of you don't have passports for."

"Russia for the Olympics." Emily said quietly.

"Exactly. The first summer you two were together you visited each other in BC and Ontario slash Quebec and he surprised you in Colorado. The second summer you two were renovating that beautiful house, last summer he was rehabbing from a double hip surgery aside for that month in British Columbia, you were in Dallas. You two deserve the vacation."

"Yeah, I guess so. I'll tell him tonight we're going to Fiji. That reminds me we're going to need to get our passports done when we get back."

"Name change?"

"That, and his passport, and visa, are going to expire in August. I have to update all of my information. Drivers License, Health Insurance, Passports, Social Security, Social Insurance..."

"Social Insurance?"

"Canadian version of Social Security. Becoming Emily Benn is going to be a laborious process."

"I wonder if Jordie's will be up then too."

"Most likely, those two do everything together. Imagine if they were twins? Oh dear."

***

"Why does she order so much stuff?" Jordie groaned.

"She was just told to rent this. Calin and Stephanie are the ones in charge. I guess the bridesmaids plan this kind of stuff." Jamie grunted.

"Do they plan the bachelorette too?"

"Emily's got a full grip on that. While we're in Vegas, she'll be in Miami. Let's just put these in the garage for now."

"You two rent tables all the time. Why don't you just buy them and keep them in here. Always throwing parties." Tyler suggested.

"Might as well go to Costco and buy a couple. I don't know why why haven't thought of that earlier."

"Who needs summer work outs when you can just haul heavy tables in and out of the garage all summer." Jordie groaned.

"I can't wait for this to all be over and done with. She's driving me fucking nuts." Jamie sighed, taking his hat off and running his fingers through his hair.

"She's a stresshead. You knew that the moment you started seeing her." Jordie reminded his brother.

"That, and all she's been sending me is this fucking gifs of Joey whenever I ask her something."

"Joey?" Jason asked.

"Friends." Jamie rolled his eyes.

"That's funny. You do have to admit she has a sense of humor. I'm going to start doing that." Jordie snorted.

"Don't tell her that because she will take it and run with it. And I will literally never talk to you again if you started." Jamie warned.

"When does this shindig go down?" Tyler asked.

"Sunday I think Jess said. Isn't that when we're supposed to be out Jamie?"

"Yup, all day on Sunday. They get to drink mimosas and eat girly treats while we'll have a bro day. And then she's on my case about getting all my hockey gear away properly."

"You probably should man. At least air it out in the backyard first. The garage does stink." Jordie told him.

"I'll do it after this stupid shower." Jamie mumbled.

"We need to send our rings out on Monday if we're getting them engraved." Emily mentioned getting dinner ready.

"Should we? We have each other's initials on our ring fingers already."

"We could get our wedding date engraved. I would also like to see you walk around the house naked, now that your starting to get all beefy again." She winked at him, making him blush.

"Just for you my beautiful bride. Are you gonna shred them?" He noticed the chicken breasts coming out of the slow cooker.

"Maybe. That way it will last longer and one of us can have the left overs tomorrow."

"Where would you like to go for vacation." He asked her seriously.

"Fiji. Two weeks, private villa, white sand. Fresh seafood, no cell reception. We can be as naked and as loved up as we want."

"We'll go to Fiji then. Can I see your wedding lingerie?" He tried to see if he could get a reaction.

"No you cannot! It's a surprise."

"Just a little hint."

"One of my dresses are backless. I have a present for you for the day of our wedding."

"What is it?" He came around the counter and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"It's not a present if you know what it is. It's like peeping on Christmas. You were a peeper." She laughed, turning around to face him.

"I was the youngest. I got whatever the hell I wanted." He lifted her onto the counter.

"I can tell! I'm so excited to get married." She laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck, one hand tangled in his hair.

"Think it'll be different?"

"Just some new jewelry and a piece of paper. I know a lot of people are like 'they've only been together for 3 years' but babe, when you know you know. We'll have a new honeymoon period. I think if we treat it like nothing's changed, even though legally it has, I think we'll be alright."

"I knew it the moment I laid eyes on you." He brushed a piece of hair behind her ear.

"You are so full of shit your eyes are brown." She laughed.

"No, I'm serious. Yes it was in a nightclub, but still. I knew it." He kissed her forehead.

"And in a few short weeks you'll be a crying mess at the top of the isle seeing me walk down the isle."

"I'm not gonna cry."

"You are going to bawl like a little baby." She laughed.

***

She loved bugging Jamie about how much he was actually going to bawl. She knew him so well. He was a man that was so strong, but so emotional. Emily had only seen Jamie cry a few times over the past three years, and heard him cry over the phone. The most was when they lost the baby.

"Just one more trip to New York, 20 days of work, the NHL awards and a trip to Miami stand between now and the wedding." Emily smiled up at Jamie, reaching around him to grab his ass.

"Hey now. Better take me out for dinner first." Jamie laughed, jumping a little bit.

"We should eat dinner before it gets cold." Emily rolled her eyes at him, giving him a slight nudge and sliding off of the counter.

"We should have a little fun elsewhere in the house besides for the bedroom before your mother gets here." He suggested.

"Jamie. No."

"Why not? You used to be so keen for it before."

"I'm just not in the mood for cleaning up after it." She mumbled.

"I'll clean up if you want me too."

"I just have a lot of stress going on."

"I told you if you needed help to tell me."

"Just, like at work, making sure all my t's are crossed and my i's are dotted. We need to do the seating chart still and book our tickets, I have one more fitting left and I feel like I gained weight from stress eating."

"You look great, you go to the gym every day."

"Doesn't mean shit."

"January 17, 2013."

"What?" She gave him a side glance.

"That's the night we met. I remember it vividly. I asked you to dinner February 9, 2013, and we became, official, one would say, that same night. June 12, 2015 I asked you to become
my wife. And on June 30, 2016, you are going to be my wife."

"Could you stop being such a perfect husband. I feel like I'm in a Nicholas Sparks novel." She rolled her eyes at him, "you could also put all the cheesiness into your vows you still haven't written."

"Awe, see babe, it's all up here." He pointed a finger to his temple.

"You should still write them. Just in case we decide to renew them 30-40 odd years."

***

Well after dinner they were laying on the couch watching a movie, Jamie decided to pick her brain, not get a rise out of her, but just to see.

"If you and I weren't getting married, which of your ex's would you marry?" He asked her.
He felt her stop texting and watch her sit up to turn and look at him.

"Why is that even a question." She glared at him.

"It's just a silly one. Which ex?"

"Probably Christian. We were together for 6 years." She rolled her eyes.

"That was the one who got jealous because you got the rugby scholarship and national team nominations right?"

"Yup. That's the one. If I hadn't of gotten that internship here, I'd probably be back with him, living in Toronto with five kids."

"So you wanted five kids with him and only two with me?"

"No I've always wanted two kids. He was just the kind of guy who would get what he wanted no matter what. He was a manipulator."

"I know Behar was not a fan of him. I think she likes me more." Jamie winked at his fiancée.

"My Mom loves you. All she talks about to the rest of the family is how she has her daughter marrying this amazing man, and can't wait for them all to see at the wedding."

He knew Behar was tough on him, but that's because she wanted the best for Emily.

"I was also talking to Angela the other day." She smiled at him.

"Angela...."

"Price."

"Oh, yes. And?"

"Her and Carey do this white water rafting trip in Oregon every August and wanted to know if we wanted to come, I already said yes."

"So we're going rafting then. I've never spent too much time in Oregon. I've never gone rafting before either."

"It's fun! Angela was saying that they hit class 4s too and they sometimes get dumped."

"Cause that's not scary at all."

"Oh you'll be fine. Promise me you'll behave in Vegas?"

"As long as you behave in Miami. The boys are planning it so I really have no idea what is going on."

"I'll stay out of the devil's dandruff." She said dryly.

He hated even the mention of cocaine. He hated what it did to people, he hated what it made people turn into.

"You fucking better." He huffed.

"I was making a joke. You know I haven't touched that shit in over two years." She turned around to look at him.

"It's not funny. You know how much even joking about it pisses me off."

"Fine. I made a bad joke, I'm not going to touch it. You know I'm not going to. Conversation over." She rolled her eyes.

She laid back down and rested her head on his chest. He knew he needed to let it go, but he couldn't. He tried to relax, running his fingers through her thick dark hair, twirling pieces around his finger.

"Jamie you need to let it go." She said quietly.

"I did." He grunted.

"No, you haven't. It's a part of my past and you need to accept it."

"I have accepted it Em. We wouldn't be here if I didn't."

"Are you saying you wouldn't be with me if I had a big problem with it?"

"No, I'm not saying that. I've just seen what it does with people who abuse it, and start doing crack and other stuff like that. Especially in the rougher areas of Victoria. And in Vancouver, have you seen East Hastings?"

"Jamie, it's just party drugs. And now I only smoke weed. And you smoke weed too.”

"We haven't seshed in a while."

"Once Mom and Heather leave Monday we'll have a sesh where we eat too much junk food and watch movies all night."

"Those are my favourite date nights. I'd honestly be happy with just taking some edibles, driving down to the coast and hole up in a hotel room all weekend."

"What are we going to do when we have kids?" He asked her as she turned over to look at him.

"We'll have to grow up. I can't wait for you to be a dilf. You'll be such a good dad."

"Well I could get you knocked up on our honeymoon. We know how easily I got you pregnant last time." He pulled her up to kiss her, "and I loved seeing you pregnant. That's why we're going to have 8 kids."

"We are not having 8 kids, and I was barely showing before we lost Charlie."

"Your tits looked amazing."

"Tits? Looked?" She sat up.

"They still do, they've just shrunk a little bit since you started doing the whole gym everyday thing."

"They're still D cups. I shrunk one cup size. At least I'm proportionate and natural. But my ass isn't as big as yours."

"Hey now. How about you bring that big old booty up here and kiss your future dilf husband."

"You are something special Jamie Benn." She laughed as she climbed on top of him, straddling him.

She knew exactly where to grind down on him during their make out sessions, 3 years and going on married, the sex never got old.

***

Emily had to pretend she wasn't arguing with her mother during the bridal shower. There were tight smiles whenever her mom was right next to her, and she was four glasses of champagne in.

"Any demands you have for him on your wedding day?" Lyndon asked Emily.

"Just for him to not get smashed before the wedding. After is free game. Dad's letting Jamie and I use his Aston Martin."

"That's incredible. Just for the wedding?"

"Yeah. So Jamie's gotta learn stick real fast. Dad's shipping it down next week and I'm going to teach him. And it's a right hand steer."

"The true test before the wedding, teaching your intended to drive stick."

"It's going to create an argument. I can see it already. He'll get frustrated, I'll tell him to calm down, he'll yell, then I'll yell. Doors will be slammed."

"And the make up sex?" Lyndon asked quietly.

"Amazing. Between that and slow morning sex, I don't know which is better." She winked.

"Considering you two do it every day."

"We don't actually. Just every other day." Emily laughed.

"I guess having a healthy sex life is the way to go. Means you'll have babies faster."

"Jamie is constantly saying he wants babies like two years ago. If I didn't have that IUD I'd be with one kid and another one on the way."

"How long do you want to wait?"

"At first I was thinking two years, but I almost, almost want to start right away. He's got supersperm. My IUD fell out last December and I got pregnant within 5 days because I started ovulating right away."

"Well that's good you know he's fertile. How do you think you will be after having the IUD for so long?"

"As long as my eggs are healthy. I fell pregnant after having it for 4 years. This time shouldn't be any different. And it's not like I miscarried because I, or Charlie, were unhealthy."

"Now why do you even go to Costco. It's just the two of you. Three if you count the dog." Stephanie piped up suddenly.

"When your intended is a professional athlete who eats like 5 meals a day, trust me girl, buying in bulk makes sense. Especially chicken and pasta.” Emily rolled her eyes and smiled.

Jamie would be back from his golf game shortly, and would instantly be the centre of attention among the women. Especially Emily's out of town friends that he'd only met a handful of times. He would get shy and awkward being made the centre of attention, and with the amount of champagne and mimosas she had consumed it wasn't going to help, she would pinch his ass, and slap it. In front of his mother. Heather would get a kick out of it.
Jamie was sexy, she wanted all her girlfriends to know she was marrying the sexiest guy in the world.

She heard the Bentley pull in on the other side of the house a few hours later, signalling him home.

The girls had started to dwindle down and head out, so it was good timing for him to come home. As the day fell into the evening she got him to start the fire pit and to pick up the pizzas they ordered. Now it was just her mom, Heather, Shadi, Huda, Lyndon, Calin and Stephanie enjoying the warm spring evening.

***

Jamie had successfully gotten out of any attention that would have been put on him, only getting one pinch from his intoxicated fiancée as he walked past her.

She needed help getting put to bed, after day drinking and consuming roughly 3 bottles of champagne to herself, and probably another bottle of wine on top of it. Her eyes couldn't stay open she was that drunk.

"Jamie I need to pee." She muttered.

She took care of him when he was smashed, it was only fair he did the same with her. Even if it was helping her on the toilet, she's taken care of him.

"I love you." She smiled up at him as he sat her down on the toilet.

"Is it one of those nights where I'm going to have to put you in your pj's?" He crossed his arms.

"Mmm." She nodded, leaning to the side.

"As long as you don't puke."

"I want a baby." She muttered.

"We will talk in the morning. Stay here, wee, and I'll be right back."

He ran into the bedroom and pulled a fresh pair of underwear out for her, along with some sleep shorts and an old t-shirt to put her in. By the time he got back to the master bath she was naked on the toilet. No idea how she managed to do that, but she did.

"Did you pee?" Jamie asked, amused.

"I even wiped." She grinned.

"Good. Now let's get you dressed." He laughed.

Guiding her into her underwear and shorts he helped her stand up to pull them all the way on, followed by her sleep shirt.

"Can you walk?" He asked as she started to lean to the side, answering his question.

Picking her up he carried her to their bed. Throwing her over his shoulder wasn't the best idea, seeing as she started pinching his ass as soon as she was over his shoulder.

"Jamie, do you love me?" She asked as he put her down on their bed.

What kind of question was that, of course he did.

"Of course I love you. We're getting married in a month."

"Yeah, but, do you really love me?"

"You, my dear, are picking a fight you don't want to start. I love you. Even when we're old and grey, with saggy balls and saggy tits. 4 kids and double the amount of grandkids." He kissed her.

After getting her settled, he let Bailey out for one last trip to the bathroom before getting himself settled into bed.

When then morning came around he was up well before his fiancée was. He managed to get a run with Bailey, and a solid weight work out in. He was feeling pretty out numbered with the amount of women in the house. He made sure to have a full pot of coffee brewed for everyone before dragging his shirtless sweaty ass upstairs to shower.

He felt Emily's arms wrap around him from behind in the shower, giving him a slight startle. Turning around he looked down at her, looking rough.

"How are you feelin?" He laughed.

"Like death." She said quietly, nudging him out of the water.

"Do you remember asking me if really loved you."

"Vaguely. I'm sorry, you know I don't doubt you for a second." She shook her head, before holding her forehead, "that hurts my head."

"And what about kids?" He wrapped her up in his arms.

"I want babies. Now. Seeing you with the Spezza kids the other day just makes me want to start having them." She smiled.

"Are you sure? Do you want to wait until after we get back from our honeymoon. Remember how quickly I got you pregnant last time."

"Yeah, let's wait until after we get back. This way if we get pregnant in July that takes us to March or April for Baby Benn. And it's not all you. We're just very fertile people."

***

She felt rough, she knew she was making a big decision telling Jamie she wanted a baby immediately. She was only 12 weeks before losing Charlie but she wanted to be pregnant, she missed the feeling. She wanted to give Jamie children. They were 25 and 26, about to be married. Jamie was going to be 27 in July and she was going to be 26 in December.

"Should we practice making babies?" He laughed, feeling his hard cock against her hip.

"I think I'm too hungover for that. We gotta go apply for our marriage license this afternoon."

"What do we need for that again?"

"Drivers License, passport, especially since your a Canadian citizen. Birth certificate, which Heather brought. Bring your visa too, just incase. Pastor Chris is going to need to sign off on it too once it's been approved."

"What passport are you using?"

"I'm going to bring both since I recognize myself as a dual citizen, and so the state doesn't think we're 90 day fianceing it. It's going to be $81.00."

"$81.00 to apply for a marriage license? Holy shit."

"And we have to fill out this book too. Getting married in Texas is a lot of work."

"You said it takes 72 hours for it right? What happens if it gets denied?"

"That is why we are going in to fill it out and sending it straight to Pastor Chris, less slip ups."

"One more month. One more fucking month." He threw his head back under the water to rinse the shampoo out of his hair.

"Then your really stuck with me for the rest of your life."

"I wouldn't have it any other way." He laughed, pulling her in and kissing her deeply.
Later in the day, they had finally made their way down to the Dallas County building and applied for their marriage license. It was a lengthy process unexpectedly. Emily was born in Germany and needed to find out what the German equivalent to the state and county she was born in was.

Once everything was signed the county clerk at the marriage bureau faxed everything off to Pastor Chris.

“Well let’s never do that again.” He sighed, opening the car door for her.

“I think my hangover is even worse now that it’s over.” She groaned, “my brain hurts.”

“Let’s get some coffee and we can go lay out by the pool.” He laughed before closing the door behind her.

“Mom, Jenny and Heather fly out at the same time tonight too. I’ll take them.” She told him once he was in the car.

“What time is that again?”

“9, and Heather and Jenny need to be there for 6. Early dinner?”

“That works. The girls fly out when?”

“Most of them tomorrow. Shadi’s staying a few more days.”

“I’m surprised she’s not staying until we get married.” Jamie laughed.

“Nah, she’s got a few things at home to finish up before she comes back, and the boyfriend is coming back with her.”

“The soccer player?” He asked, placing his hand on her leg once his car was in gear.

“Yeah.” She took a glance at him, seeing the smirk creep across his face.

“He thinks he’s such a hot shot professional but he plays in the minors.” He laughed.

“Be nice. He’s a nice guy and Shadi’s happy. You don’t have to be the only athlete. But you are the best looking one.”

“I think you are a little biased on that one.” He winked at her.

“Maybe. Mister fifth rounder.” She laughed, “you certainly are beefier.”

“Are you hitting on me, because I think my fiancée will be very upset.” He squeezed her leg,

“She is the jealous type.”

“I am hitting on you. And I am not the jealous type.” She frowned, wrapping herself around his arm.

“You are.” He kissed her forehead, not keeping his eyes off the road.

Once they came up to a red light, she felt him take a glance at her. Looking back at him, she knew the look in his eyes, and the way he bit his lip. It was the ‘I’m having my way with you tonight’ look. She never turned him down. Emily knew that by the time bedtime rolled around they’d both be rearing to go, considering he hadn’t had any all weekend.

“You are a sex addict Jamie Randolph Benn.” She laughed, squeezing his arm.

“The only thing I’m addicted too is you and hockey My Love.”

“It’s been three days. I’m sure you could last another month.” She grinned at him.

“No, I cannot. It’s the off season. I can get it as much as I want now, so when I go away in September it won’t be that bad of withdrawals. And, just remember, we want to have a baby too.”

“And when I get back to work in August? Were you expecting it three times a day or something?” She laughed at him.

“All hours of the day. Didn’t you hear, the new house rule is when there is no one over, we have to be naked at all times?” He winked at her.

“First off, no. I don’t want it to be a chore. Secondly, no.” She rolled her eyes at him.

“We’re going to have like 10 kids with how we go at it anyways.” He said matter of factly.

“Guess your going to have to buy us a bigger house then eh?”

“One that’s already done. I don’t think I can mentally handle another renovation.” Jamie groaned.

“But look at how beautiful our house is. And how much it’s worth.” She squeezed his arm again, “but, if we need a bigger house, an acreage would be nice.”

“Because 5 bedrooms isn’t enough plus a guest house.”

“Your the one who said we’ll be having 10 little spawns.”

“I did.” He kissed her forehead again, flexing his arm under her touch.

Needless to say, once their mothers were dropped off at the airport and their other guests had gone to bed, he got what he wanted. And she was more then happy to oblige. After 3 years, it never got old, even in missionary, she never believed in soul mates, or spiritual connections, but what she and Jamie had, was definitely on a spiritual level.

“After we get married, you should grow your hair out again.” She said quietly, running her fingers through his soft chest hair.

“Yeah? You miss the long hair?” He asked her.

“I do. But then again, that’s when we were both just kids.” She sighed.

“That was literally three years ago. Hardly kids.”

“Yeah, you were just entering your mid twenties.”

“And I’ve gotten better looking each day.” He laughed.

“I can’t say I disagree with that. You are one sexy man Jamie Benn.” She rolled over and rested her chin on his chest to look at him.

“You still make me blush whenever say that.” He kissed her.

“Well then you are going to be as red as a tomato when I’m reading my vows my love.” She laughed, rubbing her nose to his, “you’ll probably make me cry so it’s okay.”

“You’ll have me blushing and being so awkward I probably won’t. Or you’ll be crying already.”

“You are going to cry. I know it. You are such a sap over this kind of stuff.”

“No I’m not, I’m a big strong hockey player. I only cry when I cut onions.” He yawned.

“You are going to cry, like a little, little baby. You are also going to cry at the birth of every one of our kids too.”

“I love you. You know that right.” He smiled. She could see the sleep in his eyes.

“I do. And I love you too.”

The official count down was on. She couldn’t wait to be Jamie’s wife. He was her best friend, her soulmate. She loved calling him her husband, she couldn’t wait to start using it full time. She loved the look in his eyes whenever he looked at her, or talked about her. She was sure he felt the same, and she looked at him the same way.
