Once we got up to the box, I met some of the players wife and girlfriends. I wanted Brandon to met my parents before the game. It was such a hassle for my parents to leave on a Friday night. I told them that this was very important for them to come.
Tonight they are playing the Oilers and during the game. Dad told me everything about hockey was. I did watch a couple of games before but I didn't know everything that comes to hockey. Brandon did score from a pass from Neal. I saw him trying to find me and when he did he smiled, nodded his head and went back to the bench.
During the first intermission, I was talking to Craig Adam's wife. She told me that when Brandon got traded he was happy that he did because when he found out that I live here. He though that I will come to the games. At the end of the game, the lost to the Devils and made the Penguins brake their winning streak that they were having.
"Man, 16 games and now all of the went away." My dad shook his head as we headed down to the locker room. There was a room for all of the player's friends and family to hangout so they won't mess with the media. About 20 minutes later, all of the players came out with sad and tired looks on their face. I went over and gave him a hug.
"You guys are playing them tomorrow, you will bet them." I smiled.
"Thanks and we will." I grab his hand and we walk over to where my parents are at.
"Brandon, these are my parents. Alice and Tim Holmes." He shook my dad's hand but game my mom a hug.
"So where do you guys want to go and eat?" Brandon ask.
"We though since it was close to here, we thought of going to a burger place."
"That sounds really good right now." Brandon smiled.
"So Tyler you never told us how you two met." Mom smiled.
"Well Jane and I went to one of the bon fires that Aunt Lisa told us that we should go. I was talking to Jane and then I heard "heads up" I turn around I got hit from a volleyball in the face." I could hear Brandon laughing under his breath. I nudge him a little.
"He came over to see how I was doing and then the rest was history." Under the table I felt his grabbing my hand. The rest of the night was amazing. He was really great with my parents and I know that he loves them to. We were walking to my parents car, Brandon said his goodbyes and was getting his car. I was hugging mom.
"You found the right man for you. I'm so proud of you."
"Thanks mom." Dad gave me a kiss on the cheek.
"Tyler?" Dad look at me.
"Yeah?"
"You better keep him. When I saw him look at you after they lost the game, I just knew it. If your looking for somebody to marry you, my daughter or you look for somebody to put the puck where it's got to be. That look said it all and he could do both." I was about to shed a tear of what he said.
"Thank you." I gave him a hug. Brandon pull up next to us and I hop in. I was hoping that my make up did get ruined at all.
"Are you ok?" Brandon ask.
"Yeah, my dad said something very nice to me and got me all happy."
"Your dad is amazing."
This time I did spent the night with Brandon.
"So what time is the next game?"
"I think noon, is it just going to be just you?"
"I think that Jane is coming but I will text her in the morning." After I got ready for bed I couldn't wait to get into bed.
During the game against the Devils, I was just watching Brandon. I was thinking of what my dad said last night. That one night of my dad being with Brandon not less than 24 hours and he thinks he’s already his son in law. I didn’t see Jane sitting down next to me when she handed me my root beer.
"So you haven't told me about last night with you, your parents and Brandon."
"It was amazing, they both love Brandon. Dad told me if Brandon ask him if he could marry him he will say yes." She push me and smiled.
"That's amazing Tyler!" Then her phone was ringing. 10 minutes later there was something wrong. I could see it all over her face.
"What's wrong?"
"Are you sure you want to hear it?"
"Now I am worried, what's going on?"
"It's about Hunter, he almost tried to kill himself. Now they have to put him into a mental hospital to see what's going on. That was his mom that just called me. She was calling people that knew about what's going on with Hunter."
"How long has his mom been calling you?"
"Since you left."
