Four Years Later (Squeal to My New Life)

It has been three months since what happen at Kaley’s school. She’s making more friends at the classes they are giving her. Mike has been doing better since he was traded from his old club house the Capitals. Now the Penguins are heading to Washington to face the Capitals. While Rebecca and Kaley were watching the game with the other family at their house. Rebecca and Vero were talking about the store opening in a couple of weeks. Then Rebecca could hear Kaley coming out of the living room and into the kitchen.
“Mommy, mommy uncle Mike is hurt.” Rebecca’s heart stopped when she heard that. Grabbing her hand they both headed back into the living room to see the TV. Looking at the TV Mike was still on the ice and the doctors were by his side. Her eyes were glued on to the TV the whole time. A lot of questions were flying their her mind. Is Mike ok? Can he get off the ice by himself. When Mike got up from the ice. Rebecca could now let go of her breath and looked down at Kaley.
“Mike is going to be ok.”
“I want to go see him now.”
“We can’t because they are in DC but I promise you in the morning that we will go see him. I bet he would love to see you a lot.” Rebecca kissed Kaley on the forehead and went back into the kitchen.

It’s been 3 hours since Rebecca put Kaley to bed and her mind wouldn’t let her sleep at all. She sitting in the dark kitchen with a peppermint tea in her hand and only having the stove light on for her to look at the clock on it. Sid should be home soon. The whole time Rebecca was waiting for Sid to come home she was thinking of all the fun things that her and Mike would have done when they would hang out. She remember one morning it was there year anniversary and she was still sleeping. Mike though it was a good idea to make her a grilled cheese because it was one of the meals that Rebecca taught him how to make. She was amazing at making grilled cheese. A alarm went off but it wasn’t her phone that wasn’t making that noise. It was the fire alarm from all of the smoke that Mike was making. She jumped out of bed and ran into the kitchen.
“Mike are you trying to burn down the whole apartment.”
“Sorry I was trying to make a grilled cheese. I guess that I put a little to much cheese on it then.” Mike step aside while Rebecca grabbed the pan and ran cold water on it.
“Open up a window so we can get the alarm to shut off and the smoke out of here.” About 30 minutes later everything was back to normal. Rebecca and Mike were eating grilled cheese in the morning that Rebecca made this time.
“So why did you want to make grilled cheese than the breakfast standers for our first anniversary?”
“I want to show you how much I love you by making something that you helped me at.”
“Well next time a little less cheese, cheese boy.” That made mike laugh a little.
“Really cheese boy.” Mike went face to face with Rebecca and couldn’t take the smile off of his face. Kissed her nose and picked her up.
“Mike!” It scared her a little. They went into their bedroom.
“Rebecca I love you.”
“I love you too Mike.”
Then she could hear his shoes stepping quiet from the garage to the living room.
“Sid?” Sid stop in his track and listen carefully to make sure that he heard his name in the darkness of his place.
“Rebecca?” Rebecca came out of the kitchen and turn on the light in the living room.
“Hey.” She set down her tea and Sid gave her a huge hug.
“How are you?”
“Good, well the win made it a little better.”
“How’s Mike? We saw that huge hit he took.”
“I don’t know really, all I know that Mike is still in DC and that they can’t let him go till they know about this situation right now.” Rebecca nodded her head and they both headed into the bedroom.
“Kaley wanted to see Mike in the morning. I just don’t know how I am going to tell her about Mike.”
“Well we have tomorrow off and I will tell her in the morning.”
“Thanks Sid.”

In the morning Sid was in the kitchen with Kaley. Rebecca was still sleeping. One thing that Rebecca was happy when Sid has a day off that she could get an hour more of sleep.
“When can we see uncle Mike?” Even thou with the history between Mike and Sidney he knows that Mike would do anything to make Kaley happy. Because Sid still thinks that Mike is still inlove with Rebecca.
“Not today because the penguins doctors needed Mike to stay in DC to make sure he’s 100 % better. But I promise you that we will go see Mike when he sets foot back here.” Sid kissed Kaley’s temple. He dropped Kaley at school and headed back home. When Sid went into the kitchen and he could see a mimosa waiting for him. There was also a note but the drink.
“There’s someone in bed waiting for you. :)” He grab the drink and he headed in to the bedroom. There was Rebecca sitting in the middle of the bed, with her own glass of mimosa.
“What’s all of this?”
“Well since we have the house to our self and you have the day off of hockey. I just though maybe stay in bad for a little bit, just you and me.” Sid told off his clothes, only having his boxers on.
“I love that idea.”
When Sid woke up from having the most amazing morning sex he ever had. He could hear people talking in the kitchen. When he got dress he could see from his bedroom window that James’ car was in the drive way. James and Rebecca were in the kitchen. She was making them breakfast and James was having his coffee.
“Hey James. Getting tired of Pauly’s cooking now?”
“Hey Sid. No I would never get tired of a free meal once in a while. But I wanted to see my favorite sister.” Sid sat down next to James on the kitchens high chairs.
“Well I am the one and only sister that you have." Rebecca handed Sid a cup of coffee.
“Have you heard anything about Mike yet?”
“Nope not yet.” Sid answered.
“So what are you going to do on your day off James.”
“Stay home, I haven’t done that for a long time. I think Geno is coming over to play video games.”
“Aren’t you guys getting to old to play video games. Beside Geno has a daughter.”
“You can’t be to old to play video games sis and what are you trying to say.”
“Well Mom has been bugging me when you are on the road and she has been asking me question about….. you.”
“Me? What about me?”
“That you haven’t found the right women to start a life with.” James rolled his eyes at her. Then Rebecca pointed her finger at James.
“One don't kill the messenger and second I now know where Kaley has been getting the eye rolling from. She’s been spending way to much time with you.”
“Well at lest she’s spending time with her real uncle.”
“What’s that suppose to mean?” Now Rebecca was getting angry.
“I know that Kaley spends a lot of time with Mike since he was traded.”
“Yes because he comes on his offs days and sees her. While you are at home eyes glued on the TV playing videos games or going out and hanging out with people I don’t know. Women who just want to be with you for your money!” Rebecca was getting so mad that the eggs were burning behind her. Sid jumped off the chair and went to save the eggs. There was no way for Sid to stopping Rebecca from talking. She has been holding about this for a while now. James got up from his chair didn’t say anything else and walked out of the house. Slamming the door behind him.
“Unbelievable ! If I didn’t say what mom has been telling me about than we wouldn’t get into this whole situation. Also I am stress trying to get my store back here. I didn’t know that it was going to be this hard.” Sid wrapped his arms around Rebecca to make her calm down.
“James is the older brother and I though he would be the first person to have a child by now or get married. I just don’t know what to do.”
“Just do nothing.”
“What? I can’t do nothing.”
“Yes you can because right now you have so much on your plate. Taking care of your family, getting your store and now hoping Mike is ok. James has been taking care of himself for a long time. Trust me on this one because in time there will be someone for James. Then you can have your own niece or nephew. He just wants a women that can deal with the NHL crap that comes with him almost everyday till he’s done playing the sport.” She took a deep breath and told everything that Sid said to her.
