Four Years Later (Squeal to My New Life)

Rebecca P.O.V
When I got back to Sid's place I was just tried, all my feelings were draw when I saw Kaley going home without me. I got inside and I see that Sid was have some soup and he could read my face. He got up and hug me. He hand me a note that he already wrote.
"You are doing the right thing for the both of us. I love you if you did went back to Portland with Kaley."
"Thank you, I know that we will Skype before and after school to help both of us." That night I couldn't get any sleep because I was thinking how Kaley was doing without me.

In the morning I had to take Sid to get some dental work done, so that mean's the recovering time might be quicker. Sid was trying his best to watch the game, but it was to hard on the both of us. The Rangers kick the Penguins butt. I had to leave because I couldn't take it anymore. I went outside and breath. This not like us, losing two games in a row and without Sid. The Media is going to criticize everything about the penguins tomorrow of how bad they did. When I turn around and I see Sid standing by the door, he look very upset to.
"Are you hungry?" He nodded his head. After I got dinner done for him, I was waiting for Kaley to Skype me. I talk to Kaley for a little bit before they had to go for their dinner. When I was done talking to Kaley, I see that Sid was done with dinner but I don't see him around. I went upstairs and I hear the shower going. With everything going on right now I'm surprise that Sid hasn't exploded about this. That night I was sleeping when I could hear Sid awake. He's thinking about the game, I open my eyes and I see Sid sitting at the end of the bed. I got up and sat next to him.
"I know how you feel right now, when I torn my ACL and MCL all I could think was that I need to get back on the ice. Do the routine all over again. I know that the team and even the city needs you but you need to heal to help them all." I was rubbing his back making him relax.
"Do you want me to give you a neck massage to help you relax?" Sid nodded his head. After a 5 minutes massage. He was really sleepy, when he hit his head on his pillow. I kiss him good night.
In the morning Sid wanted to go to CEC to see the guys. Once we got into the locker room, Iggy was the first person to see him.
"Hey Sid how are you doing?"
"I'm doing good. My jaw hurts a little bit but I still have some dental work done." My heart stop, when I heard his voice. Sid didn't want to stay that long because his heads hurts a little from all the dental work he had to do today. He did want to come back and watch them play the Rangers. When we got to the game, the game was amazing and a nail bitter. Flower was doing great, then my heart stop when I saw James on the ice hurting in pain. When I was on the jumbo tron, I read James' lips.
"James said "What Happen?", should I go down there and see what's going on or should I wait until the game is over." I need to know what's going on with my brother.
"Do you want to go down there?" Sid ask. Of corse I want to go and see what's going on with James. I walk down to the locker room, to me I think he has a concussion from that hit he got. What's going with this season, the love of my life and now my brother. Hockey god stop doing this to me! I can't take it anymore! When I got into the locker room, I see that James all ready took off his pads and was working with the doctor. He look so daze and I could see it in his eyes. Once the doctor was done I gave him a hug.
"Are you ok?" James nodded his head. Once we got home, I call Molly and told her what happen. Sid and I talk to Kaley before she had to go to bed.
"Mommy will be home soon."
"Ok, bye." Then she hung up the phone.
"She's five and she acts like she's ten." Sid smile.
"She has an old soul." The next night Sid had to go to the Honor society after party tonight, I told him that I wasn't going because people don't know that Sid's dating or that he's getting married and that he has a daughter that lives in Portland. Sid really wanted me to go, but I told him that I was too tired and that I have to check on James, Seeing how he's doing." When I got to his place I see that my parents were here. I didn't hear from James nor my parents that they were coming. When I got inside they were all sitting in the kitchen.
"Rebecca!" They were all happy to see me.
"Where's Kaley?"
"She's in Portland right now with her god mother so I could take care of Sid and James."
"I'm ok, I don't need any help."
"How's Sid doing by the way, I heard what happen. That's sucks man." Dad ask.
"He's doing good, he's losing weight which he's not worrying about but the fact that there's no time table for him to get back on the ice. He wants to be out there with the guys. Geno just send me a text that he miss James already."
"Where and when's the next game?"
"At Carolina and it's on Tuesday.”

While our parents went to the store to grab some food. James knows that I am upset by something.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm mad at our parents."
"Why?"
"Well Sid's has a major injury and they didn't call me or anything to see how Sid's doing. Sid is Kaley's farther, their granddaughter's farther. Yes that you got hurt but you are out for a couple of games, who knows when Sid can get back on to the ice. Since mom and dad are here I am just going to leave talk to you later." I grab my things and headed back home. When I got home, I clean the house and make dinner for Sid and I.

James P.O.V
Rebecca was right, that's not fair that they always put me first than Rebecca sometimes. When they got back from the store.
"Where's Rebecca?"
"She left, she need to get dinner ready for Sid. Rebecca's not happy with you guys."
"What now?" Mom ask.
"She thinks it's rude that you didn't call to see how Sid was doing after he got hit with a puck. To me it's sounds like you always put her in the back burner all the time. Yeah I got a concussion, but Sid got hit from a puck to his jaw. Broke his jaw, lost some teeth and there's no time table of when he could even get back on the ice. Sometimes you might forget that Sid's the farther of Kaley."
"But why is Kaley in Portland than here with her farther?"
"She was here from her spring break and when Sid got hurt Rebecca couldn't choose. Leave Sid and take care of Kaley back in Portland. Or that Molly, her god mother to take her back to Portland so she could take care of Sid. I want you guys to leave."
"We just got here, a 6 hour drive and now you want us to leave." Dad was getting pissed because I am taking Rebecca's side.
"Yes or you can go to Sid's place and say your sorry about what just happen." Mom walk outside of the house and so did dad.

Rebecca's P.O.V
When I got home and was upset by parents. I see that Sid's home and I was very happy about that. When I got into the kitchen I see that Sid was warming up some soup.
"How's James?"
"Good, I didn't have to take care of him because my parents are in town and didn't tell me that they were here."
"I wanted to talk to you about something."
"About what?"
"I was thinking of going on the Florida trip with the team. I just need the doctor to tell me if I could go. If the doctor say I can, you can go back to Portland for Kaley. What do to you think?" Well I have no idea what to say.
"I miss the boys already, they are leaving Monday and I was thinking of going on Thursday." He had this already plan." If he does miss the boys and I really do miss Kaley more than anything.
"Well since we got all the wedding stuff done and if the doctor said you can go then I will head back to Portland than." He came over to me and hug me.
"I wish I could kiss you but that hurts to much."
"Well at least you though of kissing me helps."
On Tuesday I had everything set up for tonights game. James was coming over and Sid was at the doctors office to see if he could go and see the team on Thursday when they play Tampa Bay. I was happy that Sid wants to go with the team. It might help him alot. When Sid got home he did smile a little.
"So are you going with the team then?"
"Yep I can." I gave him a hug.
"I'm happy for you." They bet the Hurricanes and it was a great game.
"Sid's going to join with the team when they go to Tampa, James. Why aren't you going?"
"They told me I can't because I might get headaches if I fly. So does that mean you are heading back to Portland than."
"Yeah, I told Molly that I am headed out Thursday the same day when Sid's heading to Tampa." Thursday I gave James a hug, Sid and I headed to the airport. I didn't want to leave but if Sid wants to be with the guys I can't stop him.
"Call me when you are back home with Kaley." I nodded my head and kiss the top of his nose.
"I am miss you already." I step into the plane and was ready to have Kaley back in my arms.


When I got back to Portland, I went straight to Molly's place to pick up Kaley. I could see that Kaley was waiting for me the whole time. She came running to me when I was walking up the drive way.
"Hey baby, how are you." I kiss her head. We walk back inside and Molly wants to know everything. When we got home, I wanted to call Sid to see how the trip went. When I called it went to voicemail. Maybe he was to tried to even hear his phone. I called James to see how he was doing.
"Hey how was your trip?"
"It was good, I called Sid but it went to voicemail, I think the flight got him jet lag."
"So did mom and dad stop by before you left?"
"No why?"
"Well I told them to leave after they got from the store because I told them what you told me. I am on your side and I think that's rude that they should have called you the night when he got hurt."
"Wow thank you James, but at this point I think they only care about you because you didn't disappear and have a child who didn't know who was the farther."
"You have to let that go, you did nothing wrong. At this point they have to get over it. It could be tomorrow or until Kaley's goes to college when they get over it. I'm here for you."
"Thanks James." After I talk to James, I was going through all the mail that I had, look at Kaley's homework and I see that the school was going to take a trip of some of the student to go to Washington D.C for a week. This would be fun, Kaley can go see a Capitals game and see Mike. I look to see what the dates were. They will be there from April 10 - 14. This is great, I will go with them and I think that Mike will let us stay at his place. I was calling Mike.
"Hello Rebecca."
"Hey Mike I was wondering what you were doing around April 10 - 14?"
"Well we have a couple of games but nothing much."
"I was thinking of taking Kaley and her class mate to take a trip to Washington D.C. Could you get some ticket for the kids?"
"Sure, I can't wait to see you and Kaley. How Sid's doing? I heard what happen."
"He's doing good, he flew down to Tampa Bay for the team. He might come back the first or second game of the playoffs."
"That's good."

Mike's P.O.V
Yes I am glad that Rebecca and Kaley are coming down to see me. I havent' seen them since we found out who's the farther was. I got their room ready for them, but I think that they are going to stay at a hotel with the class mates on the trip. Rebecca and I are going to have lunch while the kids are going on a quick trip. I just got back from wining at Montreal.
"So how's life since I've saw you?" She ask.
"Good, you know the team's doing great and that we are going to the playoffs again. I got your invite for the wedding." She nodded her head. I wanted to ask if she had any nightmares from the whole thing.
"The weird thing is that I am not getting any nightmares about it." Wow I am shock that she would tell me.
"How's Sid doing now?"
"Good, he's with the team and things are doing great for him. He really wants to be on the ice and play."
"How is he as a dad?"
"Great, but it's kinda hard to tell since we live far apart. When the summer comes, we will move to Pittsburgh, get married, get Kaley into school and then settle down."
"Wow that's a lot on your plate."
"Yeah I know, then I had to put Sid's jaw and James' concussion on to the plate to. That the fact that my parents still hate me for what I did. They didn't even come down to see how Sid's doing. When James got the concussion they russ down to Pittsburgh to see how he's doing. That just piss me off." I place my hand on hers. Everytime I touch her, I could feel that touch I miss everyday when I don't have her.
"Don't worry about them, it's their faults not yours."
"Thanks Mike, by the way your tattoos are amazing. Are you going to do your other arm during the off season?"
"I'm thinking about it."
"What are you doing for the rest of the day?"
"I was thinking of going home and do nothing."
"Do you want to come with us? Since we are going to stay with you. I though it would be easier."
"I though your going to stay with the class for the trip."
"No, I told them that I can't stay in hotel. I know how gross they are. One time that Kaley and I went to San Diego for a week. When we got back, Kaley was really sick and we had to go to the ER. It was the bed sheets they used that had ticks and other germs that got her sick. So no hotel for me at all."
"Where are you guys are going today?"
"Zoo, Art and Science museum."
"Sweet, lets go." When we got to the zoo, all Kaley wanted to do was to hold my hand and look at all of the animals. Rebecca took a lot of photos every where we went. I did had a great time, we were in my car and Kaley was asleep in the back. Rebecca was going to wake her up.
"Don't, I can pick her up." We got up to my place, I put her in the other bedroom.
"She had a great time, thanks for coming with us."
"Yeah, I had a blast. Thanks for asking me to come."
"So do you have any games are away?"
"No, we will play Thursday and Saturday. Carolina and Tampa Bay."
"Yeah I know that you guys are going to play Saturday because that's when we are coming to the game. Once again thanks for doing that for us."
"At this point you should know that I would do anything for you."
"Thanks Mike,I'm going to bed now. I could feel the jet lag now." I laugh a little.
"Good night Rebecca."
"Night Mike."
"Oh Rebecca?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you want to go out with some of the guys after the game?"
"Yeah, I really miss Nicky and Brooks. The flight is not until Sunday 5 o'clock at night."
"Sweet, I will tell the guys." She walk into the other bedroom. When she shut the door, I place my head on the kitchen counter and trying to breath. This has been the best day of my life. Even thou I know that's Sid's family. It just felt like mine. I wanted to start a family, but it's to late and I was waiting for someone, Rebecca."

Rebecca P.O.V
During the game I always hold my breath when Mike has to puck. It was amazing game and that they had to go to over time. When Mike slap shot the puck and went behind the goalie. I scream really loud. They won the game. I was so happy for Mike and the team. We were going down the stairs and I bend down to me face to face with Kaley.
"Now Kaley, mommy is going out for a little bit. You need to listen to Mrs. Apple and Mrs. Maple. Mrs.Maple is going to take you to Mike's place so you can sleep. I will see you in the morning." I kiss her on the forehead. I walk down to the locker room where Mike, Nick, Brooks and a couple of the guys I haven't met yet. We walk into this bar and got a booth.
"It's still weird that your a mom now. I wouldn't see you as a mom." Brooks smiled. I rolled my eyes at him.
"Here's to Mike for getting the overtime winning goal Mr. Game Over!" I toast.
"Mike!" They all yelled.We stayed the whole night at the bar, drinking and talking. I didn't drink that much since I am a mom now, I don't want to ruin what we have now. Brooks had his arm around my shoulder laughing and having a great time, Mike was holding my hand. I still can see it that he still loves me and that he had to much to drink tonight. When we got back to his place. I see that Lily (Mrs.Maple) was still up. When she left, I went straight to bed.
"Rebecca?" I turn around.
"Yeah."
"Thanks for tonight I had a great time and by the way that goal was for you and Kaley."
"No problem and we had a great time at the game." I shut the door and headed to bed.

Sid P.O.V
We got home really late after we beat Florida. I was in bed when my phone beep at me. It was a text from James.
"Dude, did you know that Kaley and Rebecca were in DC?"
"No, I didn't know."
"Someone tweet me these photos here." He send me a link and I was in total shock of these photos.The website was called Dead Spin, I don't really like to be on here because I think that everything's can't be true online. It was Rebecca, Kaley and Mike walking around the Zoo. Kaley was holding Mike's hand and Rebecca had a huge smile on her face. I keep looking at more photos and there was one at night. She was hanging out with a couple of Capitals players. Brooks has had arms around her neck and what I can see closer was Mike's hand in hers. This piss me off more than anything. Now I can't sleep. We have two days off, maybe a surprise visit to Portland will help.
