Meet The Toews

My life has been a whirlwind sense after winning the Stanley cup in 2015. I first have many more Stanley cup titles to put under my belt. I went through a divorce... But most importantly I have two beautiful twins. Well they are now 14.

My daughter, Katie.
I am really proud of how great she has turned out to be! She is on the "A" honor roll at her school! Katie is also assistant captain on a varsity hockey team! She always has someone positive to say. Katie also takes hockey, family, and school very seriously. (I wonder where she gets that from?)

My son, Jacob.
I love my children very much so equally but I gotta say Jacob and I are more distant compared to Katie and I. He's also on the "A" honor roll! Jacob is following in his fathers footsteps by being an outstanding athlete. He made the JV boys hockey team and he's only in eight grade! I was still in bantam!

Someone who is very special in my life is my girlfriend Shay. I am going to ask her to marry me soon. I know Katie will be thrilled but Jacob not so much. Jacob is a mommas boy, just as I when I was a young lad. Shay and I have been together for about 4 years. She already feels like my wife. Shay helps me drive around Jacob and Katie, cleans the house, helps pay the bills, ect.

My relationship with Lindsey Vecchione is long gone. We got divorced in 2019. We could never agree on anything. Not to mention while I was away she had what she called "friends" come over and stay for a night. She was always flirting on guys and right in front of me too. I loved her but I knew she wouldn't be a suitable mom.

When the twins were about 10 they took sides, I couldn't believe it. Jacob always talked about his mom since she moved to who-knows-where. Lindsey saw the kids when they were 5-10 about once every two months. I saw her at a bar cuddling up to a college student, but I left before she saw me.

Anyways Jacob kept asking for his mom I couldn't say no. I called Lindsey up and told her that Jacob wanted to visit her, and she could see him after she cleaned up her act. I asked Katie but she had no interest. Once Jacob got home from an overnight trip with Linds he stated he wanted to live with her. No way my 10 year old son would think out of the blue to ask to live with his mother, Lindsey was up to something.

Lindsey and I had figured out a deal. I live with Katie full time, Lindsey lives with Jacob full time. Well of course both children visiting other parent. Katie never wanted to visit or see her mom. The sad thing is Lindsey didn't care. Jacob still comes to visit me a couple times a week.

Katie and Jacob get along well. I think Jacob doesn't mind that I am closer to Katie. Katie sure as heck is okay with Jacob being close with her mom. I never had really gone into detail with Lindsey or Katie why Katie didn't like her mom. I just assume she knows her moms... a, bad role model.
