Unexpected Turn of Events

Better Than Revenge

April 10, 2014

"Now go stand in the corner and think about what you did.
The story starts when it was hot and it was summer
And I had it all, I had him right there where I wanted him
She came along, got him alone, and let's hear the applause
She took him faster than you can say sabotage."
~Better Than Revenge~
-Taylor Swift

My plan was going perfect. Kendall will have no idea what hit her. That bitch thinks that she can take my boyfriend and get away with it? Hell no! When I found out that Ryan didn't show at their wedding, ha, karma bitch. Sure you would think that's all the revenge I need but nope. I am determined to make Kendall's life dreadful by making her feel the same way I did. Heartbreak. The situation could not have been any better. I didn't even expect her to forgive me that easily. Kendall hasn't changed one bit. Too trusting, way too nice, and really, it made me sick how sweet she always is. It made my sabotage even easier when she had a boy in her life. She was practically begging me to sabotage her. How she managed to start dating Patrick Kane is beyond me but maybe when I break them up, Patrick would need a rebound. Hint, hint. Oh my, I am a genius. Okay, this is getting weird. I seriously need to stop talking to myself in my head.

~

"Hey Patrick!" I said, walking into his flat.

"Wassup, Rach?" I heard from down the hall.

"Well, I know you and Kendall are getting pretty serious and you care about her, right?" He nodded. "You see, I was thinking we could throw a party for Kendall as a congratulations on her new job and that maybe you'd like to help?" I asked, making sure to sound like I really care.

He took a minute to process before his face lit up. "I think that's a great idea! Oh and by the way, I haven't officially thanked you for what you've done for Kendall. It means a lot to her that you two are friends again."

"No problem. You know, I really missed her and I', so happy we made up." Ugh, barf. I smiled as sweetly as I could. "Let's get started on the party." I say, changing the Kendall subject.

"Right. I think maybe we should do it the day she starts her new job. You know, when she comes home we can all celebrate."

"That sounds great." The two of us spent the next hour figuring out everything for the party and slowly and surely, I moved closer and closer to Patrick. When we both seemed comfortable, I put my hand on his knee. At first, he didn't seem to seem very alarmed but it, but I made me way up a little father around mid-thigh area and instantly he started to tense up.

"Relax, okay?" I said, easing him. He gulped and slowly nodded. For the rest of the time, he seemed more relaxed.

"So I'll text you later. Kendall's going to love this!" I said and kissed Patrick on the cheek before leaving. I smirked to myself. Slow and steady wins the race.

~

"Where are you going?" I asked Kendall, seeing her all dressed up.

"Oh I have a date with Patrick at 5. I'm meeting him at his flat. I'm leaving soon actually." Kendall said, putting on her earrings.

"Oh well I'll just leave then. Text me later." I said, slowly backing out of her house. Part two of my plan was going into action.

I took a deep breath and strutted into Patrick's flat making sure to hear the elevator doors open so I knew that Kendall was on her way. Here was my chance. Luckily, Patrick was standing by the door so I grabbed his shirt and started kissing him. Before he could react, the door opened and in came the bitch herself. I smirked, let go of Patrick and passed Kendall.

"Next time Kendall, don't mess with me. Oh and Patrick, call me!" I walked out, satisfied and packed my bags so that I could go home to my loving husband, who was mine the whole time, Ryan. I was the winner this time.

"What the hell was that?" I yelled at Patrick who was just exchanging spit with Rachael a few seconds ago.

"She just walked in and kissed me!" He yelled back at me.

"You know what? I don't want to hear it! I thought this was actually going somewhere but I guess I was wrong." I slammed the door behind me. Why is it that every time I open up to a guy, I end up hurt and heartbroken? Maybe I should just give up on love, forget about guys and focus on my dream.

As I was raging in my head, I didn't even realize that I was walking and it was already dark. Where am I? Great. Now I'm hurt and lost.

"Kendall? Is that you?" I spin around to see Patrick Sharp and Shooter.

"What're you doing here? Don't you live on te other side of Chicago? Are you crying?"

I couldn't hold it in any longer. I cried into his chest and he comforted me while he lead me back to his house. When we got in, both Abby an Madelyn sat down with my on their couch.

"Ok what happened?" Sharpie asked.

"Patrick...date....Rachael...kiss." I managed to say between sobs.

"Oh he is so going to get it during practice tomorrow!" Sharpie cried. I laughed at his comment. Abby hugged me while Madelyn cuddled up to me.

"Thanks but you don't need to." I reassured.

"Uncle Patrick's mean! He made Kendall cry! Mommy give him a time out!" Madelyn told us. We all laughed at her cuteness and I instantly felt better.

"Well sorry I've kept you guys up. I better head home." I got up from my seat but was pulle back down by Abby.

"Nonsense! You'll stay here tonight! Besides, that way you won't have to drive back here tomorrow." Abby offered.

"Yay! A sleepover?" Madelyn cried.

"Thanks for the offer but I-"

"Kendall stop. Just stay for the night." Sharpie insisted.

I sighed. I knew I wouldn't win this argument. "Fine." I headed I their guest room and Abby handed me some extra clothes and toiletries. Tonight's going to be a long night.

~

I woke up after a night of fitful sleeping so I really only three hours of sleep. I made breakfast for everyone and woke up everyone one by one according to when they had to leave. Abby first, then Madelyn, an finally Patrick. Thankfully, the day went by quickly. After cleaning, cooking, and entertaining Madelyn, I realized that working was numbin the pain. So all I have to do is be busy for the rest of my life so I won't have any time for boys and therefore no heartbreaks.

"Don't worry Kendall, we made practice for him hell." Sharpie said, seeing the sad look I had on my face.

"You don't need to do that. I'm fine! I've gotten him out of my head. I didn't even think about him once today!" I replied, feelin guilty that I cause the hell practice.

"Kendall, we make practice hell for him everyday. Today we just kicked it up a notch." He said, grinning like a kid.

"Well then you should just go back to the normal hell then." I said and we both laughed.

Ok I know it's been, what, 2 months since I updated? And I'm so so sooooo sorry. I barely had any internet this summer and school just started yesterday so I've been extremely busy so I won't be updating as often. I'll try my best though!
