Addicted

‘’Skittles or peanuts?’’ He asked and showed me the two kinds I could chose from.

‘’Peanuts all day every day, no question about it.’’ I said and snatched the bag out of his hand causing him to chuckle at me.

‘’Well you have to share.’’ He said and waited for me to open it.

‘’No this is mine now, you gave it to me.’’ I said and took a few peanuts and threw them in my mouth.

‘’No, you took it out of my hand!’’

‘’You made me chose, and I can’t help that you’re weak. Maybe you should lift more at the gym skinny boy.’’ I smirked and him and put a few more peanuts in my mouth and chew them so Tyler could see. He hunched over me and hold me in a tight grip before snatching the bag back. I gave him a stare, an angry stare to show my disappointment.

‘’Karma is a bitch. I could share but you wouldn’t, so now it’s just mine..’’ He sounded happy that he had defeated me. I did some more tries to get the peanuts back but nothing worked, he was to sneaky.

‘’Fine I will just sleep so I don’t have to see your face anymore.’’ I pouted my lips like a baby and rested my head against the window. I could feel Tyler picking up my legs and placing them in his lap. I opened my eyes and just looked at him, seeing him smile at me before I closed them again.

Alyssa and Tatiana played cards with Jamie and Demers in the front, it made me happy that they get along and that Alyssa seems to enjoy their company as well. Even if we won’t see the boys so much this trip we will have a good time. It’s nice to get away from Dallas for a week, just to find some new energy. That was my last thought before I fell into some deep sleep and strangely dreamt about Tyler and me, me and Tyler together, it was a nice dream.

I felt someone picking on my arm, then shaking me a bit while calling my name. I whined and tried to push who ever tried to wake me up from my deep sleep away, I wanted to keep dreaming wonderful things, because wonderful and easy things never happens in real life dream land is a wonderful land. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Tyler hovering over me with a smile placed on his lips. He took a straw of my hair and placed it behind my ear so he could see my face better.

‘’We’re landing soon you have to buckle up.’’ He said and stroke my chin. I looked around to see if someone was looking at us because Tyler was being very lovey duvy at the moment and I would feel even more weird if someone stared at us, luckily it looked like everyone was busy with other things.

I sat up properly and placed my feet on the floor again instead of resting them in Tyler’s lap.
‘’I hate the landing part too, you could have woken me up after the landing part was done.’’ I said and looked out of the window and could see that we were closer to the ground now. I could see the buildings and small dots, people walking the streets of Toronto. Everything in the air looks amazing and beautiful, you appreciate more things when you’re above ground.

‘’And miss the opportunity to hold your hand again?’’ He smirked at me and placed his hand on my thigh, like he did before. But this time he came closer to me and placed his warm soft lips on mine, but my lips were a little dry so I can’t understand why it’s tempting to kiss me right now. I kissed him back with a little force and then pulled back, I didn’t want anyone to see us kiss even if they probably know that we usually do more than kissing. But I’m not a fan of making out around people when I’m sober, if I’m drunk I don’t really care.

‘’When does training camp start?’’ I asked curious if he was free tonight or not.

‘’Tomorrow morning, what are you doing tonight?’’ Tyler asked and looked into my eyes like he had the same thought that I did.

‘’Nothing.. Maybe we can take that movie night we talked about, tonight?’’ I asked and smiled at him and he locked his hand in mine. I pushed the thoughts about me being uncomfortable that he held my hand and tried to focus on his face instead, this is big steps for me.

‘’That sounds great.’’ He smiled back and then we went silent, a nice silence not an awkward one. I tried to take deep breaths and think happy thoughts while the plane landed. I’m not going to lie it helped that Tyler held my hand even if it’s not something I’m used to, maybe I can try to get more used to it.

‘’How did it go for you guys on the plane?’’ I asked while walking in front of Tatiana who were closely followed by Alyssa, we walked down the stairs of the plane so we could touch the ground and then hop on the bus that were waiting for all of us.

‘’It was good, didn’t get any sleep but we talked and played cards for three hours.’’ She answered and I raised my eyebrows.

‘’That’s all you did on a three hour flight?’’ I asked and finally reached the ground and stepped a side to wait for Tyler that just walked out of the plane.

‘’It didn’t feel like three hours, the time went by fast. I checked up on you once you were long gone in dreamland.’’ Tatiana chuckled and I joined her, I can easily fall asleep anywhere and everywhere.

We waited for Tyler, Jamie and Demers and then walked on the bus to find some seats. I sat down next to Tatiana, Alyssa sat with Demers and in front of us sat Tyler with Jamie. The bus were taking us to the hotel and Ruff said that it would only take about ten to fifteen minutes to get there.

I didn’t speak the entire bus ride, I just looked out of the window and studied Toronto. It looked really nice but it didn’t look special. Like when you’re in Rom you think it’s special, but Toronto is like any other city really. But that doesn’t mean I’m not excited for the week to come, maybe Toronto have some hidden goods somewhere in the city.

‘’This is incredible! We all have our own room in one hotel room, I could get used to this.’’ I said and sat down in the livingroom area, we even have a kitchen which we will probably not use but still.

‘’Yeah, my dad upgraded us when he heard that we would be here.’’ Tatiana said and rolled her eyes while taking a seat next to me.

‘’Same old same old.’’ Alyssa then said and looked out of our big glass windows. ‘’But I’m not complaining.’’ She continued and we agreed with her.

‘’Where should we eat?’’ Tatiana asked and looked at the hotel menu. ‘’Here or somewhere else?’’

‘’Jamie and Demers said they and a few others are going to eat here, maybe we should just join them?’’ Alyssa answered and looked eager to meet them again, I think she might want to hook up with Demers.

‘’We should, what do you think Nadia?’’ Tatiana said and looked at me with a smile.

‘’Sure why not the food here is probably good.’’ I shrugged and we were in agreement, which is pretty rare. We usually fight over everything, everything.

‘’Okay I’ll text them and see when we can meet up with them.’’

‘’Do that, I’ll be in my room and get my stuff in order.’’ I said and got up from the couch to head into my room.

It was a medium sized room with white and beige walls, a king size bed and a closet. A desk and a minibar was also placed at the door when I walked in. It was definitely one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in that’s for sure. I grabbed my suitcase and opened it, I took my black tights and and my white cream blouse that I changed into. Then I walked to the bathroom to check my makeup and hair, I decided to but my hair in a bun because after the flight it looks really messy.

‘’Ey Nadia, they’re heading down now so let’s go.’’ Alyssa yelled from outside my room. I left the bathroom and left my room after I grabbed my phone.

All of us grabbed one room key each before we left the hotel suite, just to be on the safe side if someone loses one. Then we headed in the elevator and went down ten floors where the restaurant floor was.

‘’This is fancy.’’ Alyssa said and did a very funny facial expression causing me and Tatiana burst into laughter.

‘’Hello girls.’’ Jamie spoke and irrupted our little fun time. Behind him stood a couple of guys, I recognized all of them but I can’t remember all of their names.

‘’Should we grab a table?’’ I asked and looked across the restaurant, I wanted to sit by the windows where the view was and I got what I wished for. Our hostess showed us to a table where we all could fit since we where a company of sixteen people. I sat down and on one side sat Demers and on my other side sat Tyler.

‘’Do you like your room?’’ I asked and looked at Tyler who was fully focused on the menu.

‘’Nadia Reynard making small talk, damn.’’ He smirked and chuckled a bit before looking up, making eye contact with me.

‘’Trying something new, I’m also trying really hard not to have an attitude so please cut it before I poke you with my fork.’’ I picked up my fork just to show him I was serious, even if I wasn’t.

‘’I sure would love to see you try, but I don’t know it’s just a bed and a TV nothing much.’’

‘’Really we got a suite.’’ I dragged out the word suite just to taunt him.

‘’Oooh nice, fancy lady huh.’’ He said causing me to laugh at his stupidness.

‘’I don’t know what to pick, chose something for me.’’ I said and pointed at the menu.

‘’I’ll order for you when our server comes back.’’

‘’I want to know what you pick before you order it.’’ I gave him a stern look afraid that he would order something strange and disgusting.

‘’No way, it’ll be a surprise and you will love it don’t worry.’’ He said but kept his eyes on the menu trying to find something to order for me.

Chelsea was the name of our servers and she first brought us our drinks. Me, Tatiana and Alyssa decided to drink wine for dinner while all the boys did the mature choice and went for water since they start practice early tomorrow.

‘’What’s training camp anyway? Do you go back to Dallas for regular training then or what? It’s really confusing.’’ I said and sipped on my red wine, I love red wine it’s always my go to drink unless I’m at a club, then I’m a vodka kind of girl. A few guys laughed at my comment which just made me a little more confused.

‘’It’s kind of like first day at school, you go through what will happen during the season but not to much, it’s unnecessary to plan to much a head. But it’s a week when everyone gets together again and prove the coaches that you deserve to be on the roster this season. Some new guys might make the team and others will be sent down.’’ Demers explain while I nodded to show that I was still listening.

‘’That’s mean to send someone down.’’ Tatiana spoke from across the table.

‘’Well the new guys might be sent back down but they’re young so they will get more chances. But if you’re a veteran player you’re out. That’s hockey, that’s what we all have signed up for.’’ Tyler answered and I raised my eyebrows.

‘’I would be so stressed out if I had to fight for my job all the time.’’ I looked at Tyler and he just shrugged.

‘’We’re used to it, if you don’t play good you don’t deserve a spot, that’s just how it works.’’ We dropped the subject and started talking about life stories we all have, just so we all would get to know each other better. It’s fun that it’s a mix of people, some canadians, some swedes, some russians and so on. You get a mix of cultures and learn a lot from everyone, it’s really interesting to listen what they have to say.

When we ordered our food, Tyler got me a delicious salad and chicken with root crops and pepper sauce. I have to say, he has very good taste in food. I didn’t speak during the rest of our dinner I just sat and ate.

Whaat 10 chapters already? And trust me this story hasn't even begun yet! I have so much more in store for you guys so it'll probably be like 40 more chapters.
