Knocked Down, Rise Above

Chapter 8

Sunday was a new day and the team had fanfest which was a great thing for the players and fans both. Pascal and Sid had went together to it.

Cassie chose to stay home and just relax a little before they got back Monday would be stressful day as testing happen and waiting for the answers so today she just wanted to try not to think about it Sid had told her before he left to use the huge sunken tub in his bathroom as he knew she loved bubbles baths and it was the best tub in the house for that so that was her plan with her fave music playing from her phone

Fan fest went great some fans did ask Sid how he was feeling and he played it down that it was just not feeling well before game time but felt better even though he didn't feel that much better. He got through it and him and Pascal headed back to his house

“Thanks man for last night and today I needed that” Sid says

“I know you did and I can stay tonight if you need me to” Pascal says

“Maybe tonight then after tomorrow you should go home once I know I think I will be better it's the not know what it is that's killing me” Sid says

“I know and I know Cassie going to go with you but I was thinking I go too she can't sit in the waiting room by herself she will go nuts” Pascal says

"That she will so I think that's a great idea thank you I can't say that enough” Sid says

“We just need to get you better especially cause G is not good with out you” Pascal says laughing

“He pretty good on his own on the ice man” Sid says

"Oh I know he is just no good with you out of the line up hurt he might joke a lot about you being Captain but when you down and broken effects him and he just like lost” Pascal says laughing

"Ok I will give you that” Sid says laughing for the first time in the past few days

“There’s that laugh and best friend and brother I missed the past few days” Pascal says as they continue towards Sid house

Cassie finished her bath and got out she had put a pair of her leggings on then went into Sid closet were all his old jersey were when she needed something for comfort that's where she went. She always has a hard time picking which one for the moment then she saw it 2010 Olympic one she remembered that she went to the last few games with him it was right before she got the job that took her out of state to Ohio.

She put it on and picked up her blanket well a penguin blanket Sid always has deemed hers over the past 4 years at his house the blanket that's cause the break up of one the two girlfriends he had in that time frame when she was told not to use it one day she flipped out and week later they were history. The other one proved be more of I just want your money and after 6 months of that which Sid wasn't into he wasn't all about money and spending she was as gone too

Cassie laid in Sid bed with the blanket watching a replay of the Stanley Cup win four months ago he was on top of the world. Two weeks ago for WCH he was too how could something in practice bring him tumbling down she thought

Finally the guys got home Sid was actually tired and not feeling all good “I am going to lay down for a bit tell Cassie i am fine and that's where I am” he says to pascal

“Ok “ pascal says pulling his laptop out and phone as he was working on stuff he needed to with now the decision to stay in Pittsburgh had been made

Sid got to his room and found Cassie asleep in his jersey and the blanket he always felt was only for her he laughed a little seeing it and remembered the fight and break up with his one girlfriend.

Pascal was so right he never realized it until now he should have when that fight happen. He knew that even if he realized it right now he didn't know if something really could happen for them she had her own life she always made that clear plus they were best friends He laid down beside her and pulled her closer and just held her close to him as he fell asleep he was in peace even if it would only be for a few hours he has his rock the girl he loved more than anything with he all was right in the world right now.

Had to post another chapter for you all after the game tonight I actually want to try in the next few days get most of what I have done posted for you all then it will be as I get new chapters done :)
