Chapter 43


Birthday moments and wishes

After they got back for Cole Harbor it was time for the team to start playing again and now they had to stay focused and all towards making the playoffs it was the goal every year but especially this year they had the cup win to defend.

The all-star game came and went Cassie was actually happy to go to it and see Sid have an amazing one. Now the season was almost over they had two games left. They were already in the playoffs but the team wasn't backing down just cause they made it. Both the next two home games were at home and the last one was on Cassie Birthday.

Sid always used to hate her birthday in the first few years they had been friends because it meant the season was ending and they wouldn't see each other for a while. But this year he was so excited and looking forward to it. He actually had talked to Nathalie who set up a sort of party for her in one of the suites for some of them before the game while the guys had to get ready and all.

Cassie Mom, dad hunter, her uncle and grandparents and his parents were at the game and party too. “I can't believe he did all this” Cassie says to Natalie, Trina and her mom”

“He wanted to make sure the game didn't mess with your birthday but your gifts he didn't give us to bring you will have to wait for them” Nathalie says

“Well except for this one Trina says handing her a rose with a note attached Cassie took the note and read what it says “hey beautiful I love you happy birthday one of your gifts is I plan on getting a goal for you tonight you will get another right after the game. Love Sid”

"Aww that's sweet of him” her grandma says

“He will be so mad if he doesn't score a goal” Trina says laughing

“You know he will be on every guy to pass it to him and until it happens” Troy says laughing

“Pretty much “ Cassie says

Sure enough at start of the game Sid got a goal and looked to find Cassie and smiles and gave her a look that she knew what he did and it was for her

. The game was amazing Sid ended up with a hat trick and five point game which sealed the deal with him being leading scorer of the NHL and the leading Goal getter too. Cassie figured that what he meant her second gift was.

They had to wait for everyone as since it was the last game of the season they did the shirts off their backs. She noticed that Sid who was lash had his jersey still one and another one he gave the winner which she didn't really get but figured he has a reason.

As Sid made his way back to the locker room he took the jersey off and made sure to fold it until he was ready to leave after media and shower. He finished with media then got his shower as he got dressed Geno says “ we go out to dinner to celebrate Cassie birthday right”

"Yep that the plan G “ Sid says “Good” Geno says They made their way out and Cassie saw Sid and says “I am proud of you baby scorning title again”

"Thanks baby but more importantly happy birthday I love you” Sid says kissing her

"Was you getting the title my other gift” Cassie asks

“Wow no I guess I got you three so far then cause this is your other gift my jersey I wore tonight on your birthday it's only fitting it goes to you” Sid says

“I wondered why you hadn't taken it off to give and why you gave one your weren't wearing” Cassie says

“I actually wore the other in warm ups so I would still be kind of game worn” Sid says

“I love you and I love that you wanted to give me this” Cassie says

“Now time for birthday dinner I got a room for some of us at your fave Italian place for tonight” Sid says

“Wow you really did go all out” Cassie says

“I have to for the girl that's going to become my wife” Sid says

“I can't wait to become your wife” Cassie says

They head out to the restaurant for dinner a few of the guys from the team. As everyone started to eat some brought gifts for Cassie. Geno was first “What did you do” Cassie says laughing as she opens it and saw what it was

“Had to” Geno says What is it” Sid asks

Cassie held up a new jersey with Geno name and number on it

"Nice G but she won't wear it” Sid says

“It was nice Geno I love it thank you” Cassie says “Welcome” Geno says Kris handed her a gift from him and his wife

“Wow I love it thank you” Cassie says it was a necklace that said Crosby and had Sid number on it

Glad you like it but I can't take credit for picking it out” Kris says

"I figured as much” Cassie says laughing

Pascal brought from him and his family a maple leaf charm for her bracelet

“Figured you're marrying him and he Canadian you have to have one of them “ pascal says

“It's awesome” Cassie says

Sid parents got Cassie some photos that's they had framed of her and Sid over the years they had.

And her parents got her a new lpad which they knew she needed but wouldn't buy on her own


. After dinner the cake was brought out Sid hoped she liked it “please tell me it's chocolate” Cassie says

“Yep it is baby know that's what you would want” Sid says

“God I love you” Cassie says as she takes a bite Everyone had dessert and then everyone headed home as

Sid and Cassie got into the driveway Sid says to her “ I have one more gift for you” “Baby you already made this the best birthday ever” Cassie says

“Yeah well one more gift won't hurt” Sid says as he goes to open the garage and there was a new SUV on the other side of the garage from where Sid usually parked

"What is that” Cassie asks

"Your last gift” Sid says

“You didn't go get me a car” Cassie says

“Yeah I did and don't go getting all mad we are engaged to be married and you need to a car baby one that is your own. Please tell me you're not mad” Sid says

"No I am not baby I get it you want to make sure I am always taken care of. I just think it's an expensive birthday gift baby” Cassie says

“Well I don't care how much I spend on gifts baby you need a car I wanted you to have this one and I will call it a birthday gift or just something I want to give you I love you and will always take care of you” Sid says


"I love you too baby and I know that you will always take care of me. And I love the car so thank you baby” Cassie says “

I am glad you love it I was worried some” Sid says

“Well I do love it so thanks baby” Cassie says

Sid helps her out of the car they look at her new SUV before going inside.

It was an amazing birthday now they had the playoffs to get through which would start at the end of the week. Sid felt ready for them and hoped the team could keep up with the way they were playing he wanted to win another cup and celebrated with Cassie as a couple not friends like the last two.

Birthdays had to have hers.... so could see Geno get that jersey just to tease Sid a little....
