Chapter 10

Halloween payoff


Over the next few weeks training camp continues and the season started on the road the Penguins has the their first home game finally a week later and Cassie went with her dad and uncle “Did Cassie tell you Sid going to be in dad Halloween night thing” Matt says to Paul

“How he pull that off” Paul asks

“Sid needed my help with something and after I helped he said he owed me whatever I wanted so I told him since they are home and don't have a game that night he needs to come be in it” Cassie says

“Oh this I can't wait to see” Paul says

“Yeah Cassie has him going to be dressed as a penguin who plays hockey” matt says laughing

"Well pap already had me as a penguin so figured I could have back up to look crazy with me” Cassie says

“You know after this you might owe him right” Paul says

“Damn I probably will but still it will be fun and give me a chance to hang out with my best friend on a night where he available to hang out” Cassie says

The Penguins lost the game and Sid wasn't happy he wanted to get off to a good start this season and home. He knew Cassie was at the game and had asked her if she wanted to get a late dinner after which she said sure since she hadn't seen him much

" I am going to meet up with Sid to go to dinner” Cassie says

“Ok “ Matt says to her

"Have fun see you on Halloween can't wait to see this” Paul says

Cassie waited for Sid to come out he came out and had Geno and Sergei with him and he says “do you mind if they join us I am trying to get Egveni familiar with Pittsburgh and good places for us to go” Sid says

“Sure it's fine” Cassie says she knew this was good for the team

“Ok thanks” Sid says

They got the the diner and ordered then Cassie says “uncle Paul just found out your being part of pap Halloween and can't wait to see” Cassie says

"Should I worry about what I have to dress up as” Sid says

“No I told you a penguin as a hockey player” Cassie says

Geno looked confused and Sergei explained and Geno said something back Sergei and he translates “He says why is that bad he wears his uniform”

"No a penguin like the animal costume” Cassie says

Sergei laughs as he translates to Geno who just looks at Sid and starts laughing really hard

"You guys laugh all you want but she helped me out and this is what I am doing to pay her back” Sid says

“Dude sorry it's funny” Sergei says

Sid just shakes his head but he was glad he had Sergei and Geno come out and Geno seems to be having a good time and starting to learn more which helps the team and him and Geno were getting closer as friends.

They finished eating and Sid took Cassie back to the dorms he had a small road trip coming up so they wouldn't see each other until Halloween.

It was finally Halloween Cassie had their costumes ready and other stuff she needed Sid was picking her up when she got in his car she saw boxes and boxes of candy and says “what's all that”

“Candy for your family trick or treaters” Sid says

“You know pap has candy along with my parents and uncle” Cassie says

"Yeah but I won't be home to hand out so figure get it to handout with theirs” Sid says

“Hockey God these are full size bars and there has to be a thousand bars we might get three to four hundred kids” Cassie says

"Oh well each can have two then” Sid says like it was nothing


“Those kids are going to be excited” Cassie says laughing

“Hey it's the least I can do by the way even though I think me being dressed up in going to be making everyone laughing I am happy and excited you asked me to come for it and we get some time to hang out” Sid says

"You are welcome” Cassie says

They got there and Sid took all the candy out to where her pap had it set up “You didn't have to bring candy” Jake says

“It's ok I wanted to” Sid says

They went to get dressed and when Sid came out to where Cassie was with her pap and uncle

"Awe that looks perfect and cute” Cassie says

“I feel weird” Sid says

“Oh my god this is too funny “ Paul says laughing

“It fits in perfect thanks for being a good sport and doing this Sid “ Jake says

"You are welcome and I owe Cassie so this is what she asked me to do and I am fine with that” Sid says

Everyone was there and they started making snow it was amazing it looked like it was winter even though it wasn't The kids started to come and loved everything that was in the scenes they had set up “You family goes all out and it's amazing I mean real snow even I actually love this” Sid says

“Well you do love winter cold weather snow and ice” Cassie says laughing

"This is true” Sid says smiling

“But really thank you for coming and doing this. I am glad we got to spend tonight together cause we don't get to do this much during the season” Cassie says

"I know between my schedule and your school schedule it's hard but you're my best friend and nothing will change that” Sid says

“And you're my best friend even if you're a Hockey God” Cassie says

"Well thanks for not holding that against me” Sid says

The rest of the night went good and Cassie was happy Sid was such a good sport he even posted for a few photos her mom wanted of them

Sid was happy that he actually did this is was he enjoyed Halloween and got to spend it with his best friend he was lucky she wanted to actually be his friend she always knew what he needed and to keep him grounded and still him just Sidney Crosby the boy from. Cole Harbor

Poor Sid lol but had to it was too easy and even back in the early days I could see Geno laughing at him about something like that...
