AAOOOSC!: Gulls' Adventures!

Time flies and it’s game time:

Matt with the epic saves!

Joseph with the blasting hits!

A beautiful goal by Nick!

Joseph then knocks in the puck in for another goal!

The second period is uneventful with no goals…

But the third period roars with two more goals by Brandon and Shea!

With an outstanding performance by the defencive side of the team, the Ducks close out the game in a shutout, zero to four.


In the locker room, it seems more like a party than a team changing out from their equipment.

“We actually won!” Bryan shouts from his stall, standing on its bench with his fists high in the air. “We actually won! WE ACTUALLY WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” He waves his hands crazily in the air.

“Yes, we won, we all know that, Mooresy,” Stu tells him calmly and matter-of-factly.

“See, I knew we’ll win!” Joe exclaims, hooking his arm across his chest happily. “Way to go, boys!”

“I scored,” Joseph states cooly, lounging in his stall. “You guys should all thank me.”

Brandon turns to Nick, who is in his own stall right next to him. “Great job on that goal, Nicky!”

Nick beams at him. “Thanks.”

On the other side of Brandon, Joseph rolls his eyes and scoffs: “Pffft.”

Brandon then faces him. “And good job on your goal too, Joey.”

Joseph shrugs. “Whatever.” He then bends over to start untying his skates.

From the other side of the locker room, Shea is standing up with his eyes on his smartphone. “Hey, guys, look at this!” Not taking his eyes off from the screen, he quickly pulls Jaycob back to himself before he wanders away again.

Most of his teammates get up from their stalls and huddle around his phone.

Displayed on Shea’s phone is the San Diego Gulls’ official Twitter, which is showing the action of the apparent five to seven lost against the Bakersfield Condors, the AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers. And from the looks of how the information is presented, the person behind the Gulls’ Twitter does not find it striking to have the original Ducks’ players playing on their AHL affiliate.

“Aw, don’t worry!” Joe exclaims from behind Shea’s shoulder. “They can win the next game!”

From next to Shea’s leg, Bryan peers up at his teammates with scrunched eyebrows. “Doesn’t it seem plain weird that anyone can watch Getzy for ten bucks?”

“Well people have to see me for thirty bucks minimum,” Joseph points out arrogantly, standing on the other side of Shea.

Coach Boudreau then steps into the room with a radiant smile on his face. “Alright men” --the teammates turn away from Shea to face him-- “great game out there! We have morning skate tomorrow and then after that is game day!”

“Wait,” Brandon objects from next to Joseph, “we don’t have another game tomorrow and then five days off?” He is referring to the typical regular season schedule of the AHL.

“Nope!” The coach answers brightly. “What do you think we play in: the AHL?” He then swiftly spins on his heels and ambles out of the room.

Everyone left in the locker room exchanges delightful expressions with each other. They are no longer in the AHL, but now in the NHL.
