The Parent Trap

Good Morning

"Breea, darling, you're gonna be late! Auston, don't you have practice this morning?"

Sylvia dashed around her kitchen, trying to make a quick breakfast for her family. Her voice could be heard throughout the whole apartment.

Breea Matthews, a 16 year old ballerina, scurried down the stairs to pick up her yogurt and eat it, her dance bag draped over her shoulder. She had a busy day ahead of her, with 7 straight hours of dance. She was working hard in her intensive classes, because her recital was approaching shortly. She really hoped both parents could attend the show. Smoothing her hands over the pink fabric of her leotard, she made sure her bun was neat as she waited for someone to drive her to the studio.

Sylvia, on the other hand, was living the life. A dress and tuxedo designer for the best of the best, Sylvia tailored Breea's tutus, rhinestoned anything, worked on Auston's gameday suits. Speaking of Auston, cue
Auston.

"Big day for the Leafs!"

Auston was now the head coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Sylvia's pearly whites smiled at her husband, kissing him on the cheek. Breea rolled her eyes. She hated the mushy stuff.
In all honesty, Breea had more of a bond with her dad over her mother. Sometimes, she liked being labeled as the coaches daughter. But other times, it was just a secret. Breea was too young to flirt with a hockey player, she didn't want to try. Dance was her life, mainly like her dad's life was hockey. Auston has attended more competitions and shows of Breea's compared to Sylvia, Sylvia didn't care unless she was forced to.

"Your father can drive you." That sugary sweet voice summoned Auston to take his daughter, as Breea sighed and looked at her dad. At least she could spend more time with him.
Maybe it would be a good morning after all.
