The Parent Trap

Boring Morning

The letters of the keyboard were punched into a data system. A new tab was pulled up
over the computer. A phone rang.

This was the life of Jack Eichel now, manager for the Buffalo Sabres.

Spinning around in a spare office chair he had, Hayden Eichel and her blonde locks continued to twirl around. Hayden was growing impatient, she didn't want to be late.

"Could mom just pick me up?" Hayden asked.

Jack held a finger up in frustration, wanting to talk to the person on the phone in peace and quiet.
Hayden shrugged her shoulders. "Okay dad."

Hayden was in the management office for an hour, in a black crop top and yoga pants. She was so ready to drive up to Toronto with her mom because she was participating in a 4 day dance intensive. The best part was, her mom instructed the whole program.

Alison Eichel was the definition of success, or the best mother ever. Alison was a dance teacher. Hayden loved Alison with every fiber of her being; Hayden tended to get sad around her father because she could never spend time with him. And this, isn't spending time. This is bring your daughter to work day, and being the daughter of a manager, isn't that fun. Sometimes, Hayden wished Jack was young enough to play hockey again. But times have changed.

Luckily, Alison entered the office just in time, as Hayden smiled brightly. Alison waved, as she walked over to Jack's chair, as Jack glanced coldly, but turned into a grin. There was no doubt Jack loved Alison, it was just that the Eichel family never had the opportunity to do anything that a normal family would partake in. Jack was too busy, and his schedule was unforgiving.

"Let's go." Alison motioned towards Hayden to leave.

Maybe the day could get better, betting than the boring morning.
