No, I just wanna hold ya

"Are you nervous?" Tyler asked me over FaceTime.

I sighed and laid back against my pillow on the bed, "I'll feel better once you're here," I told him.

He smiled sadly at me, "I'll be back soon, baby," he told me.

"I know," I told him, "I just have a feeling he's gonna show up early."

He pursed his lips, "I don't think he's gonna show up a week early."

I shrugged lightly and ran my unoccupied hand over Marshall’s head, which was resting just above my very large baby bump, with Cash and Gerry lying on the other side of me.

"I'll just feel better when you're home," I whispered.

He smiled at me, "I know, Rae. Like I told you, Coach has already given me the okay to take a week off when Theo gets here. Everything will be fine."

I smiled and nodded, "I know, my mind just races."

He ran a hand through his hair and smirked at me, "Everything will be fine, baby. I promise."

I had my back leaning up against the locked door of the house, with my purse and hospital bag sitting on the ground at my feet. My eyes were tightly closed and my teeth were clinched together, breathing roughly in and out.

My water had broken about twenty minutes earlier, the day before Tyler was supposed to come back. I had called my mom and she was on the way.

I took my phone out from the pocket of my sweat pants and decided to finally bite the bullet and call Tyler.

It rang only a couple times before he picked up.

"Hey, baby," he said on the other end

"Ty," I said before I groaned in pain from the contractions.

"Rae? What's going on?" he asked quickly.

I whimpered as the tears stung my eyes, "My water broke so I'm waiting for my mama to get here to take me in."

"He's not due for another few days, it's only the fifth," he said concerned.

I scoffed, "Well I don't know what to tell ya, Tyler, but Theo is coming early."

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he said quickly, "huh...umm, let me get a hold of Coach and I'll come back as soon as I can."

The tears flowed down my face as I let my biggest fear bubble past my lips, "Ty...what if you're not back in time? I don't know how far along I am...I-I-I don't know if I'll be able to wait, I can't force myself to wait, Ty."

"I know, baby, I know," he said, I could hear him moving around on his end of the phone, "hey, hey, hey! Coach! Just a sec Rae," he said before he must have moved he phone away from his face, and I could only hear muffled voices from the other end, just as my mom pulled through the gate at the house. She parked and got out quickly.

"Is that Tyler?" she asked taking my bags and putting them in the car quickly.

I nodded my head as I walked to the passenger side of the car, "Rae?" Tyler asked.

"Yeah?" I said as my mama went and moved the seat back.

"I'm going to my room right now, packing my bag and getting on a flight. I'll be there in a few hours, okay? You or your mom have to keep me updated okay? I'm gonna call my mom and family too," he said breathlessly.

I took a deep breath and nodded, getting into the car slowly and having my mama close the door once I was in, "Okay, Ty. Someone will let you know everything," I said, doing up my seatbelt, "I'm sorry, Tyler," I told him getting emotional, "I'm really sorry, I know it sucks that he's coming during the season."

"Relax, Rae, you have to calm down," he told me steadily, as my mama got in and began driving, "you have to be calm, we need to have Theo coming into a calm environment, alright baby? This could have happened anytime during the year, it wouldn't have mattered, anytime would be perfect to have our baby."

I let out a small laugh and let my head rest against the headrest, feeling calmer with him on the phone, "Just get home soon. And safe, please."

He chuckled on the other end, "I'll be there as soon as I can, baby. I love you."

"I love you too," I whispered.

I ended the phone call and looked over to mama who had a smile on her face, "What's that smile for?" I asked her.

She glanced over at me, "That boy loves you more than anything. And and this baby are gonna be his whole world, you know that right?"

I smiled light and looked out of the window, "I know."

I had a cup of ice chips in my hand and I was slowly crunching on a handful of them when he finally appeared. Tyler came flying through the open door red faced and out of breath.

"Oh my God," he said looking at me and rushing to my side.

I smiled and opened my arms to return the hug he wanted to give me.

"I got here as soon as I could, I'm so sorry that I wasn't here from the beginning," he said sadly, with his head pressed into my shoulder.

"It's okay," I told him, "really, you didn't miss much," I told him, trying to ease his racing mind.

He pulled away from me and looked down at my still round belly and looked at the machines hooked up.

"What did I miss though?" he asked.

I shrugged, "Some tears," I told him honestly, "then they gave me the epidural so then I was fine," I said with a small laugh, "but I'm really okay, so is Theo, he's perfect so far. I'm only another centimeter away from going into delivery."

He sighed and nodded, "I'm sorry I took so long."

I grinned at him, "Ty...you only took what...four hours? That's not long."

He wiped at his eyes and I noticed that his eyes were a bit teary, "I just wanted to be here to whole time, Rae."

"Tyler," I said, getting his attention, "there'll be more baby Segs to come that you'll be there right from the beginning to see," I said with a wink, which made him smile and let out a small laugh.

The door opened up and in walked our doctor, with a smile on her face, “Mr. Seguin! Happy to see you!”

Tyler smiled over at her and nodded, “Good to see you too, Doc. Thanks for taking care of them,” he said looking back to me quickly.

I leaned against my pillow and smiled warmly at him before we both looked back at the doctor, “Let’s see how far, yeah?” Dr. Verner asked walking to me.

I sighed and held onto Tyler’s hand as the doctor went ahead and checked me to see how dilated I was.

“Well,” she said as she smiled and brought her hand back out, “looks like you made it just in time, Tyler. Let’s get you to the delivery room."

I breathed out and smiled, looking over to Tyler who was smiling larger than I was.

"Ready?" I whispered to him.

"Yeah," he said quietly looking down at me, "I'm more than ready, pretty girl."

Three hours and fifty four minutes later Theo David Paul Seguin’s cries finally filled the room. I squeezed my mom's hand, she was sitting on the right side of me and felt the tears slide down my face quickly, and Tyler was up cutting the umbilical cord as they cleaned up the baby.

"I'm so proud of you, baby girl," my mama said to me, leaning over to kiss the side of my head, "he's perfect, I can tell."

I smiled and nodded, "Thank-you, mama. I just want to hold him."

Just then the doctor came over, Theo in her arms, bundled up in a light blue blanket, with Tyler following right behind her smiling at me with tears free flowing down his face.

"Here's your baby," the doctor told me with a smile as she placed him gently in my arms. I adjusted my arms so I was holding him securely and leaned down and kissed the top of his head.

"Hi, Theo," I cooed, "I'm so happy you're finally here, baby boy."

And he looked exactly like Tyler. I could see some brown hair poking out from under his hat, and his deep brown eyes were watching me. He was identical to Ty; basically if you shrunk Tyler’s face down it would be Theo's face. I couldn't wait to have their baby photos side by side.

"He's your twin, Ty," I said, looking up to look at my husband.

He breathed out a small laugh and wiped his eyes, "He's perfect."

"Sorry to interrupt," Dr. Verner said with a smile, "just wanted to pass along, he's healthy. He's twenty two inches long, and nine pounds and one ounce, so he's a pretty big boy, which is good! Congratulations!"

I let out a breathy laugh and looked up to Tyler, "Ninety one, Tyler."

Tyler's lip trembled and tears built up in his eyes again before overflowing and falling down his face, I smiled and felt my love for Tyler grow even more than ever before. Tyler came over and placed a small kiss on my temple.

"I love you so much, Raeanne," he told me.

I looked up at him and smiled, "I love you too, Ty."

He smiled at me, before looking down to Theo, he placed his fingertips gently on his head, "Can I hold him?" he asked me.

"Of course," I said, moving my arms and pass along Theo to Tyler.

"Are the Seguin's on their way?" mama asked me.

I nodded without looking away from Tyler, "Yeah, they caught a flight as soon as they could all get on one together, they should be here soon."

"I'm gonna go out and tell the family, I'll be right back," she said, and I heard her get up from her chair.

I couldn't look away from Tyler and our son. It was the most perfect sight I had ever seen in my life. Tyler standing there in his scrubs and everything on, holding a little baby bundle in a light blue blanket. Tyler was bouncing very gently back and forth and smiling down at Theo.

"I love you so much buddy," I heard him say quietly, "I just want you to be so happy, Theo. You can be anything you want to be, and you can dream as big as you want. Me and your mama are gonna support you no matter what. Just be you, whoever you are."
