Give Me Love

Epilogue - 8 - The End!

Give me love, lover

July 2031

I took a step out onto the deck of the cottage up in Canada and leaned up against the railing and looked out over the backyard and water. I took a deep breath and held my coffee cup tightly. I was basking in the few moments of silence before the chaos began.

"What are you thinking about, pretty girl?"

I smiled and looked over my shoulder at my quickly approaching husband, Tyler.

"I was enjoying the silence," I told him jokingly.

He smiled at me and stood next to me, matching my stance, "Ah the silence. I haven't remembered what silence has been like in...ten years."

I giggled, "Well, Theo is almost eleven so that sounds about right."

He groaned, "Jesus, I can't believe he's gonna be eleven in a few months."

I sucked in some air, "I know...it's kinda surreal."

"Rae," he said quietly.

I hummed and looked over to him, "Ty?"

His jaw clenched and unclenched before he turned his head to look over at me, "You're still happy right? I know this hasn't been the...ya know...most normal relationship...I'm not always home, I don't get to help out with everything too much."

I shook my head, "Tyler," I said firmly, hearing my Texas twang a bit more than usual, "I'm more than happy. When you're gone, that's you working. I know it doesn't feel like work to you because you genuinely love playing hockey, but you're working and providing us with the best life you can. And you have. We have a great life, Tyler. And that's all because of you. And when you're home, you're home. You've always been so hands on, and so helpful, I couldn’t ask for anything better."

He sighed, "I just know because the past few years with the Playoffs and everything the years have been longer, I've missed out on things."

I gave him a 'don't-be-silly' look and shook my head, "Do you want me to be upset that you've made the Playoffs and having a chance at winning the Cup again? That makes me so proud, Tyler! And you've tried everything that you can to be there for everything! And if you haven't been there you do anything to make up for it!"

He nudged me with his shoulder, "I just...want you to be happy."

I smiled and wrapped an arm around his waist, "I'm very happy, Tyler."

"Mama!"

I sighed but had a smile on my face before looking up at Tyler, "And so the day begins," he whispered with a smirk on his face.

"Yes, Wesley?" I asked turning to face our eight year old second oldest child, he looked like me, but the smirk he would give...that was all Tyler.

He sighed over dramatically, like he always was, "Nana can't find the coffee," he explained.

I smiled at him, "Tell her that there's a new box of K-Cups in the cupboard above the fridge," I told him.

"Can I have some coffee?" he asked taking a step back.

"Nope," Tyler said quickly, "nope. No coffee for you. You'd be bouncing off the wall, kid," he said walking towards the house with me following behind.

"What if I just put a lot of milk in it?" Wes tried to bargain, but Tyler was shaking his head before he said anymore.

Tyler put his hands on his shoulders and spun Wes around to face the house and began walking with him inside, "How about just the milk and no coffee? Sounds good to me."

Wesley sighed, but he knew there wasn't any use trying to fight about it with Tyler.

"Nana," Wesley said to my mom, "there's more in the cupboard above the fridge!" he said before going to the small table that was in the kitchen.

Mama looked to me with a smile, "Thanks," she said.

"I'll grab it," I told her, "your arms are full," I said with a grin looking at our youngest son Owen who was only three, who was literally my dad and Tyler's dad mixed into one kid.

I reached up and grabbed the new box before setting it back down on the countertop and setting up the machine for her.

"Thanks, baby girl," she told me before putting Owen down on the floor and we wandered towards the table, he wanted into his chair so he could eat. He always wanted to eat, that kid.

"Are you hungry, Owen?" I asked, picking him up and sitting him in the chair that had his booster seat strapped in.

"Yeah! Hungry!" he told me.

I laughed and nodded, putting some of the fresh berries in front of him, which he immediately started eating.

"What about you, Wes? Are you hungry?" I asked him.

He nodded, "Yeah I could eat," he told me with a smile.

I smiled back at him, "Alright, when the others get theirs butts down here I'll start cooking."

"And here's one of them!" Tyler said, I looked behind and saw Theo standing at the bottom of the stairs in his PJs and his hair going everywhere. He still looked exactly like Tyler.

I sighed, "Couldn’t even brush your hair?" I asked with a small smile.

He shrugged, "I tried, Ma, honestly. It just does this," he said moving his hands erratically around his head.

I laughed softly and nodded, "Yeah, yeah," I said as he walked towards Tyler, who opened his arms and Theo stepped into them giving Tyler a small hug before coming over to me.

"Morning, Ma," he said through a yawn.

"Morning, baby," I said, leaning down to kiss the top of his head, "go sit, I'm gonna start cooking soon."

He nodded and left me to walk to the table, sitting across from Wesley, and grabbing a handful of Strawberries.

"Daddy!"

I couldn't help the laugh that bubbled past my lips at hearing the voice.

I looked over and saw Scarlett at the bottom of the steps, she was Tyler's princess. Plain and simple. She was our only girl and was the third Seguin child to arrive; she was a full blown princess at six years old. She had him more wrapped around her finger then I ever did.

"Oh the princess has arrived," Tyler said, scooping her up in his arms making me smile at their interaction. Scarlett was a perfect mix of me and Tyler, she had Tyler's thick dark hair and my eyes, but she had Tyler's confident attitude.

She giggled in his arms, "I'm not a princess, daddy!"

He laughed and walked with her over to me, "Yes you are! You're mine and Mama's princess!"

She burst out in another giggle and threw herself backwards in Tyler's arms who just laughed, "Hi Mama!" she said to me, looking at me while she was still upside down in Ty's arms.

"Hi, baby girl, are you hungry?" I asked as Tyler put her back up regularly in his arms.

"Yes!" she said as Tyler carried her to the table and sat her down in a chair beside Theo.

"Dad," Theo said.

"Theo," Tyler said back as I went to the stove where my Mama was leaning back against it.

"I'll cook, baby, enjoy Tyler and the kids," she said to me quietly.

"You sure?" I asked, she nodded and shooed me back to them, I smiled at her in thanks.

"When is the Cup going to be here?" Theo asked Tyler.

Tyler smiled, "It'll be here around seven in the morning tomorrow, and then picked up the next day in the morning."

The Dallas Stars had claimed yet another Stanley Cup. This was the fifth time that Theo was around for a Cup win. The kids were all excited about having the day with the cup. My mama had come up early to help with prep for it, and the rest of my family would be coming later during the day, as well as Tyler's family to celebrate.

The kids began chattering excitedly about having the Stanley Cup at the cottage. This had been their favourite part of the year, going up to the cottage. Theo had obviously been going up the longest of the four kids, and he used to talk about it to the youngest ones about the cottage, even when they were babies and had no idea what he was talking about. The main reason the kids loved the cottage though, was because going to the cottage meant that daddy would be home with them for at least a couple months. The kids just loved Tyler so much, and they missed him a lot during the hockey season.

But Tyler was absolutely the best with the kids. When he was home, he was with them all the time helping out and letting me have some me time, and focus more on Charmed, which was still going strong and was very successful. Tyler adored the kids; he tried to do anything and everything for them. As much as he loved hockey, sometimes he couldn't wait for the season to be over just to hang out with the kids. But during the season he took the kids constantly at the ice rink. He had them on ice as soon as he could get them on it.

Tyler's hockey career was still going strong even at thirty nine. He was still with the Stars still best friends with Jamie who was still Captain for the Stars. Jamie and his wife Katie were actually God parents to Scarlett.

And Tyler and I were still going very strong. I still loved him as much as I did when we first got together. And has much as Tyler was there as much as he could be for the kids, he was there for me just as much as well. He was always planning date nights so we could have some alone time. Every summer we took a week, just the two of us, and took a vacation before we'd take the kids on a family vacation.

Tyler was the perfect guy. He did everything he could for his family. And sometimes the kids would get upset because their daddy wasn't home like their friends dads. But when he came back home everything was perfect.

Before I knew it, breakfast was done and the kids had asked my mama to take them down to the lake, Tyler and I watched them from our deck as mama carried Owen and followed the other kids with towels to the dock on the lake.

Tyler wrapped an arm around my waist and I leaned into him sighing happily with a smile on my face.

"This is perfect," I said quietly.

"Yeah," he responded, "the kids are really happy."

"So am I," I said quickly, "so are you, right?" I asked, looking up to him.

He looked down at me and raised his eyebrows, "Of course I am, I've got my girl, got my kids, the family is going to be here soon...we won the cup again," he said with a small chuckle, "what could be better?"

I smiled up at him. He had a few wrinkles starting to form in the corners of his eyes, and he had smile and laugh lines on his face, and streaks of grey through his hair and beard. But he was still Tyler, my Tyler. He was still handsome and kind and just wonderful.

"Nothing could be better," I told him.

"What about if I had a gift for you?" he asked with his signature smirk.

I laughed, "You don't have to give me anything."

"Well it's too late," he said with a laugh, removing his arm from my waist, "I already bought it," he said pulling something from his back pocket and handing me a box.

I smiled and shook my head slightly. Very Tyler like, surprising me with a gift. I opened the lid of the jewellery box and saw a gorgeous necklace inside.

"Oh my gosh," I said quietly, running my fingers over it.

"It's a sun," he explained.

I smiled, "it's beautiful, Tyler," I said looking at it. It was rose gold, and the sun was an open circle with different sun rays coming out from the circle, they whole thing was covered in tiny white diamonds.

"Do you want to hear my back story?" he asked me.

I laughed and looked to him, "Of course!"

He laughed, "So, you're name is Rae. Sun's have ray's. And you, Rae, have been my ray of sunshine since I've met you."

My throat tingled and my eyes began prickling with tears, I looked away from him and closed my eyes, "Thank-you, Tyler."

He wrapped his arm around me once again, "Thank-you for taking care of me and the kids and the dogs and the house. Thanks for sticking with me through the season, the Cup...just everything."

"Ty, you know you don't need to get me anything for that...I married you," I said with a laugh, "you didn't need to do this."

"I love you and I wanted to," he said before kissing the forehead, "you also can't tell me what to do," he told me jokingly.

I laughed and shook my head, "You're still such a dork Tyler Seguin."

He smiled and took the necklace from hand, taking it out from the box, "Yeah but you still like me, Raeanne Seguin," he told me and he clasped the necklace around my neck.

I sighed dramatically, "I guess so," I said with a small smile.

"I love you, pretty girl," he told me with a grin.

"I love you too, Ty," I told him, before leaning up to kiss him.

I would never get tired of kissing him or his little signs of affection. He just made me so happy.

"Mama!"

Ty and I broke away from the kiss and looked over the railing and saw Theo in the middle of the backyard with the other kids next to him and my mama standing a few feet behind them.

"Theo!" I called back to him.

"Come down to the lake! We wanna go on the tire swing!" he called to me.

I laughed and looked up to Tyler, "Duty calls," I told him.

"Well, I wasn't invited," he said to me, with a small joking pout.

"Daddy! You come too!" Scarlett yelled, which made me laugh and look to Tyler, who was grinning and shaking his head.

"Okay!" he called back to them, "We'll be right there! Head back down to the lake with Nana!"

The kids cheered and Tyler squeezed me tightly, "Thank-you for them," he whispered in my ear.

I smiled, "Thank-you for saving me," I said back.

He grinned and kissed the side of my head. And I knew nothing in my life could be better.
