Madison Square Garden. October 5th.

Ashley and Kelsey were at the world's most famous arena as the New York Rangers would be kicking off the new season against Matt Duchene and the Colorado Avalanche. Ashley and Kevin had been seeing each other a lot in between her breaks at school and she has even becoming friendly with a couple of his teammates' wives, such as center J.T. Miller's wife Natalie and forward Mats Zuccarello's girlfriend Nina.

The girls were sitting in section 120, where all the wives and family members of the home team sat in. Everyone was excited for a great season and hopefully, lifting Lord Stanley at the end of June. Kelsey and Ashley were splitting a sushi platter they brought to their seats from the family lounge.

"I can't believe I am sitting here, with the wives, in my Kevin Hayes jersey," Ashley beamed.

A figure leaned down next to Ashley, "We're excited to have you here. By the way, I'm Alyson Marie, Chris Kreider's fiancee. You girls can call me Aly!"

"So nice to meet you! Congratulations on the wedding! When is it?" Kelsey asked.

"June 22nd, 2018. We would love it if we could celebrate our special day AND the Stanley cup. By the way, you both are more than welcome to come," Aly smiled.

Ashley felt so included already and she was so happy to be accepted by the girlfriends and wives of her boyfriend's teammates. She knew it was going to be a great atmosphere away from school.

Kelsey grabbed Ashley's arm as the boys took the ice for warmups, "There's your man!! He looks great!"

"Hey, paws off missy," Ashley joked. She could not take her eyes off number 13 on the ice, watching his every move. The way he just breezed on the ice was so beautiful to her and she never felt happier.

The Rangers won the opener, 6-2. Henrik Lundqvist had thirty saves in the victory and the goals were scored by Kevin, Brady Skjei, Kevin Shattenkirk, two from Chris Kreider, and Michael Grabner. Prior to the flight to Toronto for Saturday's game, all the wives and girlfriends went back to the family lounge to see their men.

Ashley was eagerly waiting Kevin to enter and she squealed like a mouse once he did, "Hey baby! That was an amazing goal tonight!"

Kevin picked her up and kissed her so deeply, "I'm so happy you were here tonight."

"Of course! How in the world could I miss the season opener!? Tonight was perfect," Ashley said.

Henrik yelled from the doorway, "AV says five minutes guys! We gotta make the plane by 12:30!"

Ashley grew a pout on her face, "I wish I could come to Toronto with you guys, but I have a lab practical at 9 am on Saturday morning."

"I know baby, and I can't miss the second game of the season or I'd stay with you here," Kevin added.

Kelsey came over, "Ash, you ready? We have a physics test at noon tomorrow and we gotta get back to the dorm and study."

"Yeah, I'll be there in a minute," Ashley replied. She turned back to Kevin and sighed, "I'll see you Saturday night babe. Text me when you land in Canada."

"Babe, wait. I can't leave without one thing. Ashley, I love you so damn much. You complete me in more ways than you know and I haven't been this happy since Olivia and I broke up. I need you. Will you be my girlfriend?" Kevin asked, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a diamond and emerald ring. Kevin was born in May, so emerald is his birthstone.

Ashley started to cry, "Oh my goodness, Kev, baby. Of course I will!" The two of them happily kissed.

"So happy for you, girl! Now, come on! We need to study!!" Kelsey giggled, pulling her friend.

Kevin mouthed, "See you Saturday night for more New York nooky." Ashley smiled as she and her roommate headed out, on cloud nine, in a perfect Manhattan night.
