You were a bit nervous about goin to the game for a few reasons. One you weren’t sure if Sid had really left a total of 5 tix so you were hopin he did since you had invited four of your coworkers includin Jake. The other reason you were nervous was because you were goin to see Sid. You didn’t know why but seein him made your heart flutter, well you knew why but it had been such a long time since you had even liked anyone so it scared the heck out of you to feel start feelin somethin.
You were waitin on a few guys to get out from their shift so you and the boys were gettin ready at your place. You didn’t have any Pens gear so you just dressed in jeans, cowboy boots, a long sleeve shirt and a Texas cap. You were the one to usually drive so you took your truck towards the arena, you were pretty excited to go to a hockey game again, especially since they were playin vs Philly that night.
When you got to will call you were delighted to see that Sid had left five tickets and even more glad to see they were at ice level, just a few rows behind the benches.
"Holy shit (Y/N) who do you know that works here?“ asked your coworker Casey.
"Just a person that has the hook ups haha”

You guys got beers and hot dogs as you made your way towards your seats just in time for warm ups to start. As soon as the team made their way on the ice you saw that they all turned your way to see if you were there. Once Sid saw you you gave him a nod and he smiled.

"Ughh is it me or are the players starin at you?“ Asked Casey.
"Don’t say anythin but I know a few of the guys on the team”
"Thats fuckin awesome (Y/N)“
The game was intense as it was against Philly. Geno got in a good scrap and so did Sid in order to defend Geno. You pretty much yelled your lungs out with a few curses here and there causin the boys to stare at you as you weren’t one to talk that way. The game was tied 2-2 with 30 secs left as Phil scored the game winnin goal causin y'all to go even crazier. As you were headed out you went to the restroom and for some reason looked at your ticket envelope when you saw a note in there from Sidney saying to meet him at the back entrance, win or loss.

"Hey guys, y'all wanna meet the team?” you asked
"Ughh fuck yea"
“Okay but don’t be weird Casey” you teased
“Shut up dude haha” he replied

As you headed to the back of the arena Jake walked right next to you
“Sid left you a note right?” he asked
“Yeah how’d you know?”
“Well Sid never mentioned anything about meeting after the game and I know he hadn’t asked for your number YET” he smirked
"YET, what are you talkin about?“
"Tyler’s right you are so oblivious when it comes to this, he likes you, as a guy we don’t go out of our way to do this for anyone” “plus he looks nervous when he talks to you and the way he looks at you, well he likes you”
"Well I’m not that blind I’ve noticed small things but Jake you know what I’ve been through, not just with Ty but before him too, I’m tired of gettin hurt and its not easy datin a cop you know that. I don’t want to get my hopes up for anythin until Sidney says somethin" you said
"What if he’s it?“
"What?”
“What if y'all are meant for each other. Things happen for a reason.” He insisted.

You guys finally made it inside as you waited for the boys to come out. One by one they came out saying hi to you and then introducing their families. Geno and Sid were the last one’s out. Sid’s eyes lit up as soon as he saw you but of course tried to play it off.
“Hey (Y/N) glad to see you made it!” He told you as he went in for a hug
“Why no Pens gear?” Geno asked you
"Well I don’t have any plus it feels weird cheerin for you haha"
“You better get used to it because you will from now on” Sid said
"Or what Sidney?“ You smirked
"You don’t want to find out” he said flirtatiously
“Are you threatening a cop Sidney?” causin his smile to fade immediately “NO I’m just, sorry, I just want you to cheer for us”
“Remember bro she’s got handcuffs” Phil said causin Sid to blush
“Sidney I’m teasin you hahahaha you should’ve seen your face” you said
“Whatever haha if you need gear I’d be more than glad to get you some”
"No you’ve given us enough with the tickets"
"I’ll take the gear" Casey chimed in
“Yeah thats fine if you want some too. (Y/N) I’m more than glad to plus you need to come to more games” Sidney replied
"Okayyyy but only if my boys can come please"
“You go it, now lets go celebrate fuckin up Philly” Y'all headed out to a restaurant as Sidney tagged along in your truck. You guys were pretty quiet at first until Jake turned on the radio which was on to your favorite type, country music. Kip Moore’s “Hey Pretty Girl” was playing and you couldn’t help but sing along as it was your favorite song. Jake then joined in causin the boys to make fun of y'all

“Total rednecks” Casey said
“Excuse me, I’m a redneck because I enjoy a romantic song Casey?” you raised your eyebrow as you looked at him in the mirror
“Nah just you and Jake love country music and fishin and muddin and wearin cowboy boots and shit plus this truck” he teased back
"Better than songs about sex and gettin high, and I love my boots theyre comfy just like my truck" you said
"Good point, you never back down do you?“ Casey said
"Nope, she is Wonder Woman” Sidney said snarkily causin everyone to laugh
“Oh my God SIDNEY, not you too” you said
"Whaattt? You kinda do look like her, the hair and uhmm the body plus your personality, youre sweet and kind but can kick ass" he said
“Aww thanks Sidney” you turned to smile at him

As you guys arrived at the restaurant Sidney made a way to sit next to you, you guys weren’t in a party mood hence choosin a restaurant. Sid kept lookin at you as if he wanted to say somethin.
"Spit it out Sidney" you told him playfully
“What are you talkin about?”
“You look like you want to tell me somethin but don’t know how”
"How?“
"I’m a cop Sidney its my part of my job to read people”
"Thats somethin I’m gonna have to get used to"
"What do you want to tell me?“
"I was gonna say that I really really like….. your cowboy boots”
"Mhhmm I’m not buyin that but I’ll rent it for now. Thank you Sidney"
“Ughhh okay look I would really like for you to come to more of our games”
"You already said that"
“Thats because I meant it”
"I will when I have time"
“Good and of course you don’t have to pay for anythin”
"Sidney not to brag but I make a good livin"
“Thats not what I meant, I know you do well. I don’t want you to pay. Just let me know when you can come and I’ll leave tickets for you but if you can give me your number that way I know ahead of time”
"Alrighty" you said as you typed your number in his phone. He was trying hard not to smile but you could see he was proud of himself.
You guys enjoyed a nice dinner and made your way out to head back home.

“He totally likes you” Casey said
“Who?”
"Cut the shit you know who haha"
“Whatever not until he says so then I’ll believe y'all”.
"Sure but make sure to not lose our invitation to the weddin" Jake joined in
“Nah you’ll be my maid of honor Jake hahaha”
As the guys crashed on the couch one by one you went to the back to let your dog in so you can go to sleep. She laid by your side giving you a few kisses. “Ohhh baby if only you knew what I felt it scares me but it makes me happy” you said as you fell asleep thinking thank you hockey.
