It all started in Dallas

You had been in Pittsburgh for two weeks now, it had been a bit hectic for you and Jake as y’all had to move your stuff in and start work right away. Things were still quite unpacked at home but you both were doin well in learnin quickly. The police department welcomed y’all with open arms and were amazed how great you two were with your performances. It had been working 12 hours shifts for four days straight and havin three days off. It was your last day of work for the week as you and Jake were patrolling around downtown near the arena. Everythin was at peace as you and Jake decided to hit up the nearest Dunkin Donuts.

“Cmon (Y/N) lets get some donuts” Jake said excitedly
“Amen to that Jake, but hopefully nobody on sees us or they’ll want some haha”
“I don’t care I just want food haha.”

You parked in the front and walked in wonderin what you’d want to get for a snack. As you two ordered and were about to pay, you saw a man through the corner of your eye come up.
“It’s on me guys, I appreciate your protection” he said as you realized you’ve heard that voice somewhere. You turned to look and saw that it was Sidney.
“Oh hey Cros, thanks man” Jake said delightedly
“No problem, its nice to see you guys” Sid said cheerily, “You guys want to sit with us?” he asked pointing to a table in the back where some of the Pens were.
You guys sat next to them but knew you couldn’t stay long as you were still on the clock
“So how have y’all been?” you asked the boys
“Pretty good!” “Great” they replied
“Why you no come to game?” Geno asked
“Well we just moved here so we’ve been swamped with the house and our work” you replied “Plus, I didn’t know how to contact y’all” you added.
“We?” asked Geno as he looked at Sid discreetly
“Yeah my partner Jake and I moved here from Dallas” you said nonchalantly
You noticed that Sid’s face got serious and a little hurt
“Wait I thought you were single?” asked Phil
“I am guys haha, Jake is my partner, as in my co-worker” I explained
“Ohhhh” “Good to know” they replied while lookin at Sid
Why do they keep looking at Sid?
“(Y/N) and I became great friends while we were in the academy y’all, she’s a great person but I don’t see her anymore than a friend, she's more like a sister, I got offers as well but thought why not move out here with (Y/N) as we work great together” Jake said.
*Dispatch goes off
Location on Officer (Y/L/N)
“Officer (Y/L/N) reportin over”
Where are you guys?
“uHHH we’re at Dunkin Donuts” I replied as I looked at Jake
And you didn’t invite us?!
Bring some donuts for later
“I told you Jake” I said laughing
“Well darnit you were right bout that” he said crackin up
“Negative we just left”
If you don’t we’ll keep callin you Wonder Woman
“Fine”

“Jake you told them?!” I looked at him in surprise
“NOOOO”
“Yeah that wasn’t stereotypical at all” Phil said chuckling
“We better get goin before more of them order more donuts” I said sarcastically as I picked up my trash
“Thanks a lot guys and Sidney thanks for the food, I appreciate it” I said as I saw Geno nudge Sid and Phil “coughed”
“Ughh yeah no problem” Sidney replied rather in a low voice
I noticed Jake was smirkin while lookin at Sid and me
“Ask herrrr” Geno said grittin his teeth
“Hey uhh (Y/N) when would you like to come to a game?” Sidney asked
“When I can get a day off haha just kiddin, I’m off for the next three days if y’all have a game I’d be glad to come, but can I invite a few friends?” I replied
“Only if they’re co-workers hahah just kidding” teased Phil, resulting in a dirty look from Sid
“Jeez guys I AM single haha
“Okay good, I mean yeah you can invite friends, how does 5 tickets sounds for tomorrow night?” Sid asked
“That’s great” Jake cutted in
“Yeah that’s great Sidney, I’d appreciate it” I said
“Cool well, I’ll put your name under will call so you can get your tickets just bring ID, and try to come early, we might give you guys a tour” Sid explained happily
“That’d would be awesome Sidney, thank you! We’ll see y’all tomorrow, thanks again!” I said as we waved goodbye and back to the car
“See ya later Princess Diana!!” Phil said loud enough for me to hear
