Seven

When Harper awoke the next morning, Jason was no longer in bed, but rather already in the shower. Judging by what he had told his parents yesterday, they had a long day of sightseeing ahead. She thought about what that meant and all that would entail. Would this be another day of not getting to have a real conversation with Jason? Their initial relationship, composed of both friendship, had been centered around their ability to have serious conversations as well as easygoing, humorous ones. Now just one day into dating, that seemed to be severed. They couldn't talk, there was no time to.

The shower shut off and Harper stared at the bathroom door. Any second, Jason would walk through it and probably start on their first conversation; what’d was on the agenda for the day. But she didn't want to talk about that just yet. It was her first time in this city, a beautiful city, and she wanted to start this first day off lounging in bed with a beautiful man. Like some kind of good fortune, just as Harper was thinking about that idea, Jason came back into the room looking exactly like what Harper had been imagining.

His hair was tousled and curlier than she swore she’d ever seen it. He was shirtless and so comfortable in his own skin. The build of his muscles on every part of his upper half was of something Harper believed Renaissance artists would’ve sculpted out of marble. And then the towel… the thing that made her the weakest. Well not the towel itself, that would be absurd, but the way it was positioned on him. Hung low on his hips and looking like it was threatening to fall loose, Harper believed it was meant more to tease her than to serve any actual purpose.

“You’re awake,” he grinned and bent over his suitcase, pulling out a pair of boxer briefs.

Harper smiled and stretched her arms over her head, watching as Jason slid the shorts up beneath his towel. “Sudden changes in temperature have a tendency to disturb sleep and the bed’s quite cold without you in it,”

Once satisfied with the placement of his underwear, Jason pulled the towel off his waist and slung it over the back of the chair. His cheeks flushed when he caught Harper’s eyes drifting over his body and settling around his hips. “It was my plan to get you out of bed,” he murmured as he crawled up to Harper and straddled her body.

“I thought you liked me in bed?” She smirked and curled her arms around his neck until they were close enough to kiss. Harper smiled against his lips and continued on to kiss his neck, sucking on it gently as she moved lower towards his chest.

“Valid point,” he responded holding onto her hips. She was only in her bra and underwear from the night before, and Jason’s fingers gripped at her skin. He thought he could hold strong and take his time with this. Although they had a lot of touristy things to do today, he couldn’t deny the fact that he wanted to be intimate with his new girlfriend. But Harper reached for his briefs and it made him a weak man. He thought he’d lose it there. “I gotta find a condom before we get too far,” Jason smiled and pushed up.

As he left the bed, Harper’s hand dipped beneath the sheets. She pushed her underwear down and placed her fingertips on her clit and circled it slowly, “there’s some in my suitcase.” Harper blushed when he glanced back at her, “I’ve seen what we’re working with.” She bit her lower lip and stared at Jason’s ass as he bent over to dig through her bag.

Jason came back to the bed with the entire box of condoms and straddled her body again. He glanced down at the box and raised his eyebrows, “ultra thin, eh?” He pulled it open and tore one of the foil packets away from the others.

“Would you believe I only bought them because it was the cheapest one?” Harper giggled and pushed her middle finger into her.

Her face shifted and Jason seemed to know exactly what she was doing. He bent over and pressed his lips to her chest. “I’ve been buying condoms for years. These aren’t the cheapest,” he whispered and nudged her bra straps off her shoulders and slipped it down around her stomach.

“Fine, you caught me,” she grinned and watched as Jason began pushing away at the sheets until Harper’s body was exposed and he got a full view of what she was doing. “I want to feel every single movement when you fuck me,”

A low groan passed Jason’s lips and he reached down, gently setting his hand around Harper’s neck. He only added slight pressure, gauging whether or not she was into it. “Your dirty mouth’s gonna get you in trouble,”

Harper smirked and winked. She returned her fingers to her clit, rubbing faster and nodding, giving Jason permission to squeeze harder. With her free hand, she reached for Jason’s briefs and tucked her fingertips beneath the waistband. She pulled them down just far enough to take his cock out and began stroking it slowly. Jason bent over and pressed his lips to hers and moaned when she passed her thumb over the head of his cock.

“I need you to fuck me,” she whispered in his ear and bucked her hips upward, her core meeting the underside of his shaft.

Jason looked down at her and licked his lips, “put the condom on me.” He watched as she picked up the foil packet and tore it open, setting the thin latex against his cock and rolled it down his shaft. When she had finished, she looked up at him, searching for validation. He leaned in once more and kissed her, “turn over.”

“Hmm?” She questioned and kissed him again, pushing her tongue into his mouth.

Jason slid his hand to her back and pressed on her shoulder blade to guide her, “turn over.” He waited until she complied and turned onto her stomach, leaning on her forearms to give her the slight ability to look back at him. They stared at each other and Jason licked his fingers and brought them to Harper’s pussy, rimming her entrance.

“Jase, please…” Harper begged and shut her eyes. She spread her legs a little wider and wiggled her hips until his fingertip dipped inside her. He was quick to pull it back and shook his head as she whined.

The moment she fell silent, Jason pushed forward and spread her apart to make room for his shaft. And he kept doing so until he was nearly all the way inside her. But Harper let out a small cry before he could bottom out, so Jason stopped and reached up to tug on her hair. Her head followed backwards and Jason planted his lips on her forehead for a quick kiss. “Look at me,” he waited until she did as he asked. “I want to see your eyes when I get balls deep in you,”

Harper nodded and maintained eye contact with him. She was nervous as hell but at the same time felt completely safe in Jason’s hands. He thrust forward still, and Harper’s eyebrows furrowed as Jason buried himself deeper, forcing himself to bottom out inside her. He only stayed like that for a moment before he pulled back and began rocking in and out of her, getting progressively faster. Harper had to reach out in front of her and press her hand against the headboard to keep from moving too much.

“The neighbors are gonna hear,” Harper grunted out as Jason kept pressing forward. Each time he did so, Harper’s hand was forced harder against the headboard, making it hit the wall behind it.

Jason looked down at her mid-thrust, hands gripped around her hips, and grinned, “hmm?”

“The neighbors,” she panted and simultaneously let out a squeak when Jason buried his length inside her.

He let her statement sink in. And Harper saw the moment he realized what she meant by it. His mouth twisted into a sadistic smirk and he began to get even rougher. “Give ‘em something to listen to,” he angled his hips lower and chuckled when Harper screamed.

There was a second, a millisecond, a nanosecond, a fleeting thought where Harper knew she was about to say something stupid. She could feel it coming because the back of her throat tensed up like it was physically revolting. Her body wanted to keep the words in, and her brain was facilitating it, but her heart really wanted them to be heard. Which was strange to her because she’d never been the type of person to lead with the heart. Like she had told Jason, she had grown up around lawyers, and was therefore raised by reason and logic. So the words she wanted to say were illogical, especially since he was currently in the process of fucking her into another reality.

Before she even came to a conclusion about whether or not her thoughts were insane or not, she came, screaming and begging for him to come too. He obeyed and filled the condom only shortly after and pulled out of her in one fluid motion. Harper turned back over and looked up at Jason as he disposed of the condom. She hoped he’d be coming back to bed so they could relax with each other for awhile, but he didn’t come back. Instead he grabbed his briefs and slid them on while he reached for a pair of jeans.

“Cuddle,” Harper cooed and reached out for him. When he just looked back at her and cocked his head to the side, she pouted and called again, “cuddle.” Jason shook his head playfully so Harper turned back over and shook her hips, rocking her ass back and forth to tease him.

“It’s time to get up, lazy bum,” he smiled and secured his jeans in place, and then reached down and spanked Harper.

She grinned and jut her lower lip out, “I want to cuddle.”

Jason leaned over her and pecked her lips over and over again, “we’ll cuddle when we get back in. I swear, there will be some intense cuddling.” He tapped her ass again, and then retreated into the bathroom to clean up for the day.

It wasn’t until she saw him shaving in the bathroom that she truly believed she had to get up and get ready for the day. If he was taking the time to shave and clean up, he meant business. So Harper will herself up and began getting dressed. She knew Montreal was one of those cities people loved to flock to, but she wasn’t exactly sure what there was to do, so she didn’t know how to dress. And it wasn’t like she could gauge anything from Jason’s attire; the man seemed to dress casually for everything. Eventually she settled on something that was equal parts casual and dressed up: dark jeans, black booties, and a flowery blouse. She looked to be the definition of classy and knew that Jason approved by the way he stared at her as she entered the bathroom to begin her getting ready process.

Harper wasn’t the type of girl to take three hours getting ready and Jason’s surprise was evident when he glanced at his watch a half hour later in midst of following her out. They first ended up at the Museum of Fine Arts, which turned out to be more of a bust than either of them anticipated. They both could appreciate the arts, but every time they approached a new piece of art, they stared at it for a moment, grew more confused with why it was in front of them, and then moved along to the next piece.

Two hours in, they decided that staring at the artwork wasn’t as captivating as they hoped it would be. And Harper appreciated that Jason was trying to plan things that would appeal to her intellectual side. She knew he’d much rather be doing something fun and exciting, like ziplining… or white water rafting. So after enduring as much fine art as they could, they decided to head over to the Biodome. Looking at animals was much more their cultural speed. They spent an embarrassingly long amount of time watching the otters play and swim around, and then spent even more time watching the lynx nap in the shade. And then after they finished at the Biodome, Jason and Harper walked to the botanical garden. Although she could’ve done that in any city, there was something oddly charming about doing that in Montreal with Jason.
She held onto his arm and walked beside him, making him stop every so often to admire the flowers. And every time she looked up at him to see if he was enjoying it as much as she was, Harper found Jason looking at her. It made her blush each time. After walking for awhile, Harper pulled Jason over to a bench in the middle of the Japanese garden. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders and looked out at the man-made lake.

“You have a brother,”

Jason looked down at her, slightly taken aback, but nodded. “Yeah, Kevin,”

“Why haven’t you mentioned him?” Harper leaned into Jason and set her head down on his shoulder. “Bad blood? Jealously? Embarrassment?”

He laughed and shook his head. “No, I love him. He’s the best big brother ever. Guess he just never came up.” He kissed the top of her head before setting his cheek on it, “we really didn’t know each other for too long before this trip… Kinda just jumped in. We’ve got a lot of learning to do when it comes to each other.”

She nodded in agreement. On the flight over, she’d had the same realization. “What’s he do?”

“Actor, producer, bartender, entrepreneur… a real jack of all trades,” Jason removed his arm from around Harper’s shoulders and positioned his hand in hers.

“I want to meet him,”

She asked and she was going to receive. Only she didn’t quite know it. They’d decided to leave the botanical garden not long after, and Jason insisted that if Harper wanted to meet his brother, they’d have to go back to the hotel and get dressed up. She initially thought it was just his plan to get her out to a fancy restaurant en lieu of cuddling. Which if he wanted to buy her a steak instead of spooning, she was alright with it. So they cleaned up; Harper changed into a little black dress, and Jason wore a gray suit, which he matched with a white shirt and light pink tie.

As it turned out, she had been right about his plan. He took her to a fancy steakhouse, assured her she could order anything on the menu, and got them a bottle of wine to share. She figured she’d let the brother topic go. Jason would introduce her to him in his own time, and she didn't want to press him too hard. Besides, they were down at the Old Port and everything about it made Harper nearly forget about meeting Kevin. It was gorgeous, just as was Jason as he sat across from her, smiling in the candlelight. No matter what they spoke about, they managed to get a laugh out of it. That was one of the things Harper liked most. No matter what, they knew how to laugh with each other. They knew how to play and have fun, and that was something Harper had never truly seen in a relationship. In any relationship.

So to have it now; in her first ever endeavor with another human, she thought she’d hit the jackpot. And because she felt that way, those stupid words from earlier in the morning came back, and once again she fought them every step of the way. Those feelings, and thoughts, and ideas weren’t ones that should be expressed on a whim, and surely not only after knowing someone for a couple weeks. And yet, she couldn’t shake them.

From the steakhouse, Jason proposed a walk, which Harper voted against granted she was in a short dress and heels. Walking around wasn’t really on the list of good ideas right now. But Jason insisted, and with the summer air cooling down, he placed his jacket over Harper’s shoulders in order to make her as comfortable as possible so she had few reasons to decline his offer. She finally relented, if only because he asked so nicely for her too. But the walk, which she expected to last at least a few blocks, was over very quickly when Jason stopped in front of what looked like a classed up pub. They were only just a few doors down from the steakhouse. He wordlessly smiled at the bouncer standing outside and then pushed the establishment’s door open.

Inside, it was exactly what Harper had expected. The joint was classy. Everyone in it was dressed up; the men in suits, the women in dresses… even the bartenders were classed up, wearing suspenders and button down shirts. Harper looked up at Jason as he led her up to the bar. She was still shrouded by his suit jacket, and his hand enveloped hers completely. He even went as far as to pull out the one empty barstool he found.

Harper sat down and took in her surroundings, “this place is cute.”

“You like it?” Jason grinned, which made Harper blush. He leaned in and pecked her lips.

“Hey, hey, hey,” a voice interrupted. Harper pulled back and looked at the man behind the bar. “You know the house rules. There’s a hotel next door; save the PDA for your room.”

Jason smiled and leaned over the bar. Both men hugged each other, patting the other’s back. Harper sat confused for just a second until she realized who it was. The similarities between Jason and the man behind the bar were eerie, and Harper knew that this was his brother.

“The beard’s finally coming in,” Kevin patted Jason’s cheeks.

“It’s been in,” Jason shook his head to free his face from Kevin’s touch. He then set his hand on Harper’s lower back, “Kev, this is Harper. Harper, this is Kevin, brother, entrepreneur, mixologist extraordinaire.”

Kevin looked at Harper and reached for her hand, “the famous Harper. This boy doesn’t stop talking about you,”

Harper blushed, intrigued by the playful banter between the brothers. “I admittedly never stop talking about him, so it seems we’re even,” she glanced up at Jason. Now he was the one blushing. Harper looked back at Kevin, “is that really a rule here? No PDA?”

Kevin nodded, “no PDA, no cat calling, no cussing or yelling, the bartender is the boss… as proprietor of the joint, I can pretty much make anything a rule.”

“No exceptions for family?”

He looked at Harper, then at Jason, and then back to Harper, “not for my baby brother.”

She grinned as a bartender approached and set two cocktails in front of her and Jason. They were on the house, no doubt. “Twenty-eight makes him a man, no?”

“If age defined manhood, eighteen year olds would be decent human beings. So no, it doesn’t. Jase is a good man, but he’s always gonna be my baby brother. And I’m always gonna bust chops for it.” Kevin took Harper’s hand again, “it was very nice to meet you, Harper.” He smiled and then took Jason’s hand. “Jase, be good. Don’t do anything I wouldn't do,”

“That’s not saying much,” he joked and patted his brother’s back as he walked away. Once they were left alone, Jason picked up his drink and took a sip. He caught Harper staring at him and he lowered his glass, grinning, “what?”

“I’m so attracted to you right now,” she confessed, lifting her own glass to her lips.

Jason giggled and leaned against the bar, getting just a touch closer to her. “Yeah? I’m very attracted to you all the time,”

She bit her lower lip, “I’m thinking I want you to take me home now…” she paused, thinking about the way she phrased it. “Well not home, home… hotel, home.”

He took another sip of his drink and then set it down on the bar, “let’s finish our drinks and we’ll get out of here.” Jason smirked as though he was already indulging in impure thoughts.
