Trouble in the King's Court

It has been well over a year since the first episode with Henrik went down, and everyone was nervous for his upcoming evaluation. Aly has been so busy between reporting and being a mom to little Ava, it has been quite a distraction. Also, she and Kristina have mended their relationship and are back to being best friends after a rough patch.

Inside the courtroom, Aly was sitting with her attorney, with Chris, Carl and Kristina behind them. Deanna and Kevin offered to babysit Ava today since the Rangers were off for the next two days. Everyone was a bit on edge because they all knew the person Henrik really is and just wanted him to get the help he needs.

"It's going to be okay, baby," Chris whispered.

A few moments later, Henrik and his attorney walked in. They approached their bench as the judge began, "It has been 365 days since it all started between the plaintiff and defendant. Mr. Lundqvist, how are things?"

"Your honor, being locked up and away from society really made me think things through. I realized that I had a serious sexual addiction and it not only hurt people I love, but my marriage. I did a lot of thinking and I am so sorry for all my actions. To Aly and Chris, my fans, the Rangers, my family, I am so deeply sorry," Henrik admitted.

Aly felt tears falling from her face. She just watched in awe as he began to cry. Henrik was mentally sick and she knew it. She just wanted to hug him, but with him still getting treatment and help, it was best she kept her distance from him.

"I thank you for being honest. What are your plans now?" the judge asked.

Henrik took a deep sigh, "Continue my outpatient treatment and if all goes well, I may apply for reinstatement to the NHL at the end of this season."

"We wish you the very best of luck. We are adjourned," the judge stated, slamming his gavel down.

As everyone stood up, Kristina took Aly's hand, "Are you going to talk to him?"

"Not now. I need my distance from him. He needs to keep getting better. We'll discuss everything soon," Aly said.

Carl patted her back, "We respect you and your choice. Kristina and I are going to get some lunch. Want to come?"

Chris looked at his girl, "I think we just need a day to grasp all this. We'll hang after practice tomorrow."

Kristina hugged Aly, "Call me or text me if you need anything. I'm here, always."

Aly was so happy to have her best friend back. She and Chris picked up their daughter from Kevin and Deanna, and went back to their place. Chris decided to cook his mom's famous pasta dinner for his girl after a very tough day.

While that happened, Aly was playing with her daughter, "Mommy loves you so much, Ava. You are everything to me and your daddy. We will always love and protect you."

Chris came over and kissed them, "I love you girls with all my heart. Today was tough, but we are all tougher. Everything will be fine."

Aly trusted her man, and she really hoped every ounce of all these nightmares would be over for good. Was Henrik finally learning his lesson? Would everyone finally be able to live in peace?

Thank you ALL for being so patient and understanding. My mental health was not that good, plus Kristina and I were fighting and it took a dark toll on me for a while. All is much better now, especially things with us. I appreciate you guys waiting for this new chapter!
