“How ya doin, Seggy?” Jamie asked tapping Tyler with his stick

“I’m doing okay.” Tyler replied as he sat down on his bench.

Jamie sat beside him, “Did you and Stacey talk?”

“Yeah. Well we did a little...we haven’t really came to a decision.”

“It’s a big choice to make. Might take a while.” Jamie replied

“Hey! You guys up for going out?” Antoine Roussel asked

Jamie looked over at Tyler “I’m down.” he said

“I’ll check with Stace.”

“Oh come on, Segs. Just come out. You need a break.” Devin Shore said

“He has a point, Seggy…” Jamie said

Tyler nodded, “Alright. I’ll come out. Would be nice to spend some time with the guys.”

“Thatta boy! See you tonight!” Antoine said tossing a ball of stick tape into the trash.

Tyler grabbed his phone from his suit pocket and quickly sent Stacey a text. She’d be working at the office until 6:30 so he usually hung out with Jamie until she was off, but since he would be heading out with the guys he figured he’d give her a heads up.

Tyler- Hey! Going out with some of the guys tonight. I love you and I’ll see you in the morning. You don’t have to wait up for me :*

He clicked send and put his phone down before heading off to the showers.

Stacey re-read his message for what felt like the third time. Going out? He was going out with the guys? Barely a day after all this had happened and he decides to go out. Stacey clenched her jaw and started typing a message to him

Stacey- You’re seriously going out after---

She took a deep breath and deleted the words she’d typed. It was probably a bad idea to start an argument with him. She just sat her phone down and went back to finishing off her spread sheet before actually sending him a reply.

Stacey- Okay, Ty. I love you.

Part of her was angry at him for just deciding to go out without checking with her, but on the other hand, this had been hard on him too and he deserved a little break. Stacey cleared her throat and sent her work off to her boss before grabbing her lunch bag and heading to the breakroom. She sat down at her table, where she usually ate alone.

Stacey took a small bite of her PB & J when she felt her phone ringing. It was Sammie.

“Hey, Sammie!!”

“Hey! Guess what?!”

“What?”

“I’m in Dallas!”

“Seggy! You want another drink?” Jamie practically yelled over the music

Tyler nodded “Sure. You know what I’m having.” he replied as Jamie got up and headed over to the bar

“Captain buying you drinks huh?” Jason Spezza teased giving Tyler a nudge

“Oh yeah. Jamie spoils me.” Tyler smirked as Jamie came back handing him the glass “So what’s Katie up to tonight?”

“Huh?” Jamie replied

“Katie! Your girlfriend! What is she up to tonight?”

“Oh. She’s in LA for the weekend. Visiting some friends. How is Stacey doing?”

“I think she’s okay.”

“Shouldn’t you know how your wife is?” John Klingberg asked

“Well...yeah...I guess?” Tyler shrugged taking a drink. “I’m gunna run to the bathroom.” he said getting up. Tyler walked across the bar and headed towards the bathroom when all-of-a-sudden he bumped into a girl and she got knocked down “Shit! Are you okay?” he asked helping her up

“Yeah. I’m...oh my god. You’re Tyler Seguin!” she gasped

“Yeah.” Tyler replied nervously running his hand through his hair as his cheeks reddened “I’m so sorry.”

“It’s okay.” she giggled

Fuck. You’re married. Why are you still standing here? Tyler thought “I um….I should go.” he said rushing to the bathroom. Tyler splashed some cool water on his face and washed his hands before exiting the restroom.

The girl he’d bumped into was leaning against the wall she stood up straight “So you run a girl down and don’t offer to buy her a drink?” she asked, flirtatiously

“I’m married.” Tyler blurted out

The girl looked at him perplexed “Uh...I know that. I’m not asking you to sleep with me.” she laughed “Just a drink. It’s the least you could do.”

“Okay.” Tyler said nodding towards the bar “What are you having?” he asked

“Brandy Sour.” she replied taking a seat

“A brandy sour for the lady and I’ll take a tequila shot.” he said. The bartender nodded and handed them the drinks. “So d’ya care to tell me your name?”

“Hannah.” she replied extending her hand to his. Tyler shook her hand “It’s nice to meet you. I’ve seen you play. My ex was a big Stars fan.”

“Oh? Cool. Are you into hockey?”

“To be honest with you...no. I’m more of a football girl. The Cowboys.”

Tyler laughed “Thanks for your honesty.” What are you doing? Go back to the guys. “So you’re from Texas?” he asked

Hannah nodded “Yeah. Born and raised.”

“Awesome. This is a great city.”

“Yeah it is.” Hannah smiled

“Would you like another drink?” Tyler asked

“Oh you don’t have to…”

“I don’t mind.” Tyler replied flagging down the bartender for a refill on each of their drinks.

A few hours passed and Tyler was still sitting there talking with Hannah. She had her hand rested on his knee and they were both laughing at something Tyler had just said when Jamie walked up “Seggy. What the fuck? You’ve been gone for two-” he stopped his eye fixing on Hannah’s hand placement

“Jamie? Shit. Sorry. I got distracted...this is Hannah.”

“Hi.” Jamie mumbled giving Tyler a look “We should probably be heading home, Seggy.”

“You can head home all you want, Jamie. I’m having a good time.” he snapped back

“Tyler…” Jamie started

“What, Jamie?”

“Nothing.” Jamie sighed “I’ll see you tomorrow.” he said walking away

“Sorry about that.” Tyler said turning back to Hannah “Jamie gets a little annoying sometimes.”

“I’m sorry if you got into trouble…”

“With Jamie?” he laughed “He’ll get over it.”

Hannah smiled “So you’re having a good time, huh?”

“Yeah.” Tyler smiled, no longer hearing the voice inside his head that was yelling at him to leave. Not even when Hannah leaned over the table and kissed him. The voice was silent and he kissed her back.
