Moving up to the NHL

I have no idea what to say to her. She must be very scared, but maybe the excitment is hiding deep within her feelings. This is a great thing for her and Matt. This is a new chapter in their lives. I wonder how Matt will take it. Of coures this will be stressful for him too. At that moment, Kris sneaks up behind us and startles us. Well, that's Kris for you.
"Hey, Jars said you would be over here. I just came over to meet you," says Kris as he shakes me hand. Seems like a nice guy. Although, don't be fooled. I heard he's a prankster and loves to tease his teammates.
"I'm Natalie."
"Don't be fooled by Tanger. He's one of the jokesters," says Sid as he walks over to get a drink.
"I'll leave her alone until next week," says Kris and we all laugh. A week is all I get to adjust? Kris is funny.
"He has probably already been messing with Jars. You're lucky," says Christina as Kris just smiles with one of his guilty looks. Yeah, he probably gave Tristian some shit. That's the thing I love about the Pens, they always mess with each other and they are hilarious. Christina walks over and sits with Matt while him, Tristan and Phil are playing NHL 18. Kris and Sid just stand over here with me. I'm all alone with these guys. Christina can't protect me.
"So, where should we start?" asks Kris sarcastically.
"Tanger," says Sid giving him that look. Not sure if he is being sarcastic or not.
"C'mon, I already teased Jars enough," whines Kris. This is priceless. Grown men still whine apparently.
"Too bad," says Sid as he walks over to the group. Now it's me standing here with Kris.
"So, you from Canada? I reconize that accent anywhere," says Kris. I'm surprised he is only trying to conversate.
"Yeah, from Toronto. I just moved to Pittsburgh a few weeks ago."
"That's a big change. You like it here?"
"So far I do."
"It's cause you're with Jars, isn't it," says Kris with a sarcastic look on his face. Ahhhh here's the teasing portion of our conversation.
"I will be honest, yes, it's mostly because of him, but I also like my job and coworkers. I'm making friends way easier in Pittsburgh than I did in Toronto."
"So, I over heard you and Christina talking and I swear I won't tell Matt. Is what I heard true?"
"At least you're being honest. I don't know if she is. She thinks she is, but I'm not sure if she is sure yet. We will just have to wait and see I guess."
"A child's birth is so magical. I remember my son's birth. Anyways, back to you and Jars. Let's see, how can I tease you?" says Kris while he thinks of a way to tease me and Tristan. Tonight is actually kind of fun. Tristan comes over to get a drink and he just chuckles at Kris.
"Kris, leave her alone," says Tristan as he tries to avoid Kris's teasing. If this many Penguins are bad, imagine the whole team. Oh boy, that's a scary thought. Kris just smiles sarcastically at Tristan.
"I'll leave you kids alone," says Kris with a smirk as he walks away.
"Kris is one funny guy," I say as I walk over to Tristan.
"Oh trust me, you haven't seen anything yet."

The night went better than expected. The guys seemed pretty chill. I played alittle bit of NHL18 with them and talked with them for a bit. Turns out I was better at that game than expected. I kept scoring on Matt, who was of course the goalie. The teams were me, Tristan and Kris against Phil, Sid and Matt. Christina was just standing in the kitchen on Facetime. I am surprised that this went so well. None of the guys teased us, YET. It's bound to happen. It was also really cool talking about everyone's background and where they were from and what they did before they were drafted to the NHL. I tihnk I am ready to meet a few more of them. Tristan seems to have a pretty cool team. They are also really funny. They were telling me about some of the pranks they pull on each other and how they like to fool around like little kids. I say goodbye to the guys before they all leave. It's getting late. Christina wanted to go home so she can go to bed, Catherine wants Kris home and Sid is already in bed sleeping.Phil, other teammates want him to hang out, so he went over there. Tristan and I are finishing up our last game on NHL 18 and I am kicking his ass. I really think he is letting me win though.
"So, did you have fun tonight?" asks Tristan as he shuts off the PS4.
"Yeah, they seem really cool," I say as I put my controller away.
"So, want me to drive you home or do you want to stay the night?"
"Well, it is almost one in the morning and I don't think you would want to drive across the city to my house."
"I will if you want me to, but by the sounds of it, sounds like you want to stay the night."
"I'm exhuasted anyways."
"Yeah, me to," says Tristan as I put my head on his shoulder. I just curl up next to him and he wraps a blanket around us. Shortly after, we are both asleep.
