Hockey Swingers Club

Chapter 12

The police were inching closer as to who may have killed Maddy and why this person committed such a heinous crime. There was a special force of individuals who are computer hackers and have special systems that help them unblock unknown telephone numbers, so once that person is revealed, it may lead everyone to the killer.

After being back at work for a week, despite being with her co-workers and best friends, Aly was feeling sick to her stomach. She knew Maddy's case was getting to her, but she hasn't been eating and only able to keep ginger ale and saltine crackers in her stomach. She remembered that Chris was having a guys' night with teammates Brady Skjei, Jimmy Vesey, and Mika Zibanejad tonight, so she decided to relax in the bedroom.

Aly was in the kitchen, pouring some ginger ale in her water bottle when the boys all came in. Chris smiled upon seeing his wife, "There's my girl. How's your tummy?"

"Still hurts. I'm just going to rest upstairs. What are you guys doing tonight?" Aly asked.

Jimmy playfully scoffed, "Yankees/Red Sox tonight. We gotta watch. We're ordering a bunch of food. Would you like any?"

"Nah, I'm good, but thanks though. Have fun boys and try not to make a mess," Aly giggled.

While the guys set up the living room for a fun evening of baseball, Aly went to her and Chris' room, stopping in the bathroom first. She opened the cabinet for some stomach relaxing medication when a box fell out...it was a pregnancy test. Aly bought it after they first married for whenever they decided to have a baby. She decided to test herself since she and Chris have been intimate as of late.

Meanwhile, downstairs, the boys were rowdy and going crazy while watching the baseball game. Mika looked over at his teammate, "Hey dude, did the cops ever find out who killed your friend Maddy?"

"Not yet, but the police are close to unblocking that number. How did you know about it?" Chris asked.

"Dude, it's all over the news stations in the city because you and Aly, and Hank and Therese joined that club. I can't even imagine to understand what those clubs are actually like," Brady replied.

Chris sighed, "It was unusual, but Aly and I stopped going. We made friends, yes, but we love one another. Aside from that, Maddy's death is really hitting Aly hard. They became super close and I really hope we find out soon."

Aly came running downstairs after taking her pregnancy test. Just as she was about to talk to Chris, the doorbell rang. Aly opened the door and saw the police, "Hello officers."

"Good evening, Mrs. Kreider. May we come in?" the police chief questioned.

Aly allowed the two men into her home and lead them to the living room, "Chris, the police are here. Officers, this is Jimmy, Brady and Mika, they play on the Rangers with my husband."

Jimmy stood up, "Come on boys, let's give them a minute of privacy."

After the guys went in the backyard, one of the officers approached the couple, "When was the last time you saw Mr. O'Halloran?"

"James? Not for a couple days. I believe Lori said he was going out to Las Vegas for a friend's bachelor party," Chris answered.

The police officers looked at one another then back to Aly and Chris, "We have evidence that James is the one who used the blocked number and we have reason to believe he was stalking Madison in hopes of stealing her away from Ryan, and Lori gave us a DNA sample of his from the ice packs he used on his knuckles. If that matches to the cuts that were on Madison's face, he will be arrested for murder."

Chris squeezed his wife's hand, "Wow. But he and Lori live across the street. How can we protect ourselves? And what about the other couples?"

"We have patrol officers outside all of your homes until the DNA comes back. If James is a match, he will be arrested. If it isn't, we will have to keep searching until a new clue emerges. We will keep you all safe because this person hates the club you were all a part of and he or she wants their revenge on someone," the police chief added.

Once the guys went home, Aly and Chris decided to turn in for the night. They felt safe having a police officer protecting them 24/7, but they also really hoped this nightmare would soon end. Aly was also waiting for an appropriate time to tell Chris her news, but not all things exactly go as planned.
