His Teammate's Sister

Chapter 1

It's team photo day and a media frenzy at Madison Square Garden, as the New York Rangers are getting ready for an incredible season. With the acquisitions of both Jacob Trouba and Artemi Panarin, the front office and even a majority of the fans feel that this could finally be the year a Stanley Cup is brought back to New York City for the first time in over twenty years.

Inside the locker room, a bunch of the guys were talking about their summers while the ice was being prepared for the team photo. Henrik Lundqvist, the team's goaltender, spoke up first, "It was so much fun going to the US Open. I can't believe Nadal won again!"

"Dude you go like every year!" defenseman Adam Fox chuckled.

Forward Mika Zibanejad looked over at Jacob, "Dude, you okay?"

"Huh? Oh yeah, my sister's running late. I told her to come with me, but she was being such a pain about her makeup," Jacob scoffed.

Forward Chris Kreider perked up, "Sister? What are you talking about?"

"The team hired my sister Alyson to be the reporter, and as usual, she's running late," Jacob answered.

Not even a heartbeat later, Aly came rushing in the locker room, "I am so sorry for running late. Hey guys, I'm Alyson Trouba, Jacob's sister, but please call me Aly."

Head coach David Quinn soon entered the room, "Guys, the ice is done. Time for the team photo."

As Aly opening her laptop and began writing a draft for her next article, she heard the guys laughing and talking.

"Jacob, can I ask ya something?" Chris asked.

"Sure dude," Jacob replied.

Chris took a deep breath, "Is your sister single? She is really beautiful."

Jacob was always over protective of his sister, especially after a difficult past and battle with mental illness, "Uh, yeah she is, but I don't know if she is ready to date right now. She's gone through a lot in her life."

"Well, I'm not a bad a dude," Chris added.

"But you're a dude with a girlfriend," Mika commented.

Chris shook his head, "I dumped Francesca last month and she took a job back home in Boston. I couldn't deal with it."

"Well, I'm sorry about your breakup, but I don't want you pushing my sister. If she wants to hang with you, fine, but do not push her limits," Jacob warned.

Following photos and media interviews, tomorrow would be the first official day of training camp and everyone was excited. The team, reporters, and other members would be due at the training facility at noon and the season honestly couldn't start soon enough.

"Aly, Kelly and I are going out with Brady and his girlfriend. We'll be home around 8!" Jacob shouted.

"Okay! I'm going to meet Jess for drinks in Midtown tonight," Aly replied.

As Aly packed up her bag, she noticed Chris walk in. He looked so handsome in a pair of dark jeans, sneakers, and a black turtleneck. She smiled slightly at him, "Hi there. Kreids, right?"

"Call me Chris. It's nice to meet you. How are you liking New York City?" Chris asked.

Aly giggled slightly, "Well, it is a lot different than Winnipeg in terms of weather. I'm staying with Kelly and Jacob while I look for an apartment in Tribeca."

"I actually live there and the realtor I used got me my place for a really great deal. I can give you his number, or maybe, you'd like to come over and get to know each other. I have a full bottle of Chardonnay and a cheese plate in my fridge," Chris offered.

Aly's phone buzzed and it was a text from Jess that she had to cancel for tonight because she came down with a sinus infection. She turned back to Chris, "Well, Jess just cancelled for tonight because she's sick, so I'm free."

"Great. Shall we head out?" Chris smiled.

Was this a good idea? I mean, all it is, is one innocent little get-together...right?
