His Teammate's Sister

Chapter 2

Aly and Chris arrived at his beautiful apartment in the middle of Tribeca and he had stunning views of Manhattan from every angle you looked. She was a bit nervous about being with a guy for the first time in a while, and she especially knew how over protective Jacob would be if she told him what was going on.

"Well, welcome to the home de Kreider. Make yourself comfortable, I'll be right over," Chris smiled.

Aly set her stuff down on the floor before taking a seat on his comfy couch. She was really anxious, but was hoping to keep her mind on work and other interests, and not so much a relationship. She smiled as Chris handed her a glass of wine, "Thank you."

"My pleasure. So, tell me. What is Miss Alyson Trouba all about?" Chris asked.

Aly tried so hard not to blush in front of him, "Well, I earned my Bachelor's in Communications and I'm pursuing my Masters at the same time as working this job. I previously wrote for an all female based sports blog prior to being hired here, but I also write for a country music website and interviewed a couple performers at CMA Fest over the summer. Next to hockey, museums and history make me happy and I love the beach."

"You are so fascinating. You know, Jacob told me that you struggled a bit in the past with mental illness and other things. How are you doing?" Chris worried, fearing his question was a bit much.

"Uh, yeah, I did. I'm doing much better now. I just really don't want to talk about it right now. I really need to be able to trust someone a little more before I admit it, so please, don't take it personal," Aly said.

Chris nodded, "I totally get it. Are you hungry?"

"Yeah, I could eat," Aly answered.

While Chris ordered some dinner and prepared the cheese plate, she decided to text her brother and let him know where she really was because aside from being overprotective, Jacob tends to worry more than he needs to.

Hey Jacob, uhm, yeah, I'm with Chris. Jess texted me that she caught a cold, so she had to cancel. Don't worry, we're just having wine and talking- Aly

Please, sis, just be safe. You just started this job and met Chris, as well as the team. I want you to be careful- Jacob

I will, don't worry. I know how to defend myself now- Aly

Okay. Kelly and I will be home around 9. We're going to dinner and a show with Brady and Gracia. See you tonight- Jacob

Once Chris came back, the two of them talked a little more and watched some playoff baseball. Chris seemed like a really great guy and very respectful, but Aly still had her hesitations which made sense to her. He looked over at her and smiled, kind of hoping she wasn't going to catch him. He thought she was perfect and hoped that they could be something.

Aly looked over at Chris, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I am. Aly, uh, wow. Uh, can I kiss you?" Chris whispered.

At first, Aly was really nervous but the sincerity in his eyes and the kindness of asking her made her feel at ease. She simply nodded, "Sure."

The moment they kissed, it was like fireworks. It felt as if it was meant to happen. The sparks were there, the chemistry was there, and the passion was soon building. Chris pulled away slowly and held her cheek, "Beautiful like you."

What was she thinking!? Kissing her brother's new teammate! What!?
