His Teammate's Sister

Chapter 10

Aly and Jacob's parents were still trying to mend their children's broken relationship while also enjoying their trip to New York City. Aly was also still trying to get over the fact that Chris' ex-girlfriend showed up with the intentions of getting him back, and while she trusted him, a lot of her fears came to light.

The team had practice at MSG this morning prior to that evening's game against the Arizona Coyotes and the front office allowed John and Kristy to sit in the stands and watch both their son warm up and their daughter do post-practice interviews.

"So, my lovely daughter, how are you and your brother?" Kristy asked.

Aly sighed while taking some notes, "Fine, I guess. I just hate how pushy Jacob is, in my love life."

"Sweetie, he is just looking out for you. You were raped almost eleven years ago and he wants you safe," Kristy replied.

"I know Mom, and well, please don't tell Jacob. Chris' ex-girlfriend showed up yesterday at his apartment," Aly mumbled.

John went wide-eyed, "What?! And you didn't say anything to us?"

"Daddy, it's fine. Chris handled her. He really loves and adores me," Aly insisted.

On the ice, there was scattered talks amongst the guys as they did drills. Chris skated between Brady and Jacob, "So, what are the Minnesota boys up to?"

"Just skating like always," Jacob said.

Brady playfully shoved his teammate, "Dude, play nice. Jeez."

"Jacob, why are we still fighting like kids? We're in our late twenties. Can't you accept me dating your sister?" Chris grunted.

"Kelly told me Francesca was here yesterday. Is that true?" Jacob asked.

Chris nodded, "Yes, but I told her to get lost because I love your sister. Aly is the girl I want and I am begging you to accept that."

Coach David Quinn blew his whistle, "Troubs, Kreids, no more talking. Get to work!"

Following practice, everyone went back to their city apartments to take their usual pre-game naps to make sure they are well rested and ready for tonight. John and Kristy were still frustrated that their children barely spoke, but Aly informed her parents that she had to interview Jacob during the game and promised to be civil.

At Chris' place, Aly hung up her coat and felt hands around her from behind, "Mmm, can I help you?"

"Mmm, I think you can. You smell so good and I just need to make you mine," Chris whispered against her neck. His warm breath and sweat from practice was making her go weak in the knees.

Just as the couple was about to enjoy some alone time, Chris' phone dinged. Aly smirked back at him, "Tell whoever that is to go away and meet me in the bedroom."

Chris looked at his phone and it was a text from his ex: I don't care who the fuck you think you can move on with. Christopher James, you are mine and she will never come between us. Try and protect her because it'll never happen. I'll get my revenge and my man.

Chris took a deep breath and whispered to himself while seeing Aly sit on his bed, "I promise to always protect you, my angel."
