His Teammate's Sister

Chapter 14

After a few days of not getting any better, Aly went back to the doctor and had some bloodwork done and was anticipating the results. With both work and still a strained relationship with her brother, Aly was assuming all the stress was getting to her. Chris promised to take his girl away for a mini vacation during the all-star break in January since they had a jammed schedule since.

The first couple months of the season went by fast and the team was home for two games before heading on their California road trip. They would be hosting the Vegas Golden Knights tomorrow and the Montreal Canadiens on Friday, and Aly was trying her hardest to focus on work.

At practice up in Greenburgh, Aly was trying to write up some questions for her interview with Henrik after skate when her stomach started to cramp, "God damn it."

Jess was taking pictures and video for the team's Instagram page but noticed Aly, "Honey, are you okay? What's wrong?"

"My stomach hurts so bad and I wish I knew what the hell was wrong. I can't believe my bloodwork results aren't back yet," Aly groaned.

Jess left and came back a few minutes later with a hot cup of green tea, "Here, this might help."

Aly took the warm cup in her hands, "Oooh, so warm and soothing. Thanks, Jess."

"Anytime, girl. You know, I don't want to be a burden and impose, but you've been sick for a while now. Is there any chance you could be pregnant?"

"What!? Oh god, hell no. There's absolutely no chance and besides, Jacob would kill me," Aly said.

Jess shrugged, "You sure? Because my mom had the same symptoms when she was pregnant with my brother. I hope you get answers."

Aly took a deep sigh, "I mean, I have been stressed a lot lately and Chris and I have been having a lot of sex, but...no. Yeah, there's no way."

"Well, I'd have sex with him every night too, but okay girl, just checking," Jess chuckled.

The thoughts of a possible pregnancy ran through Aly's head, but she tried to convince herself it was a bad virus. She knew that it was all it had to be.

Later that day, Chris and Aly invited some of the guys and their girlfriends over for some Sunday afternoon football and had catering delivered from nearby restaurant The Smith. The conversation with Jess was still in the back of Aly's head, but she tried her best to distract herself with everyone over.

Sydney walked over to Aly with a smile, "So, how's it been dating THE Chris Kreider?"

"Ugh, Syd, he makes me so freaking happy. It's just so hard when your brother can be a bit too protective over your relationship," Aly answered.

"That makes sense, most brothers are, but you've got a great guy. Personally, I like you a hell of a lot better than his ex. You're so kind and charming. Don't let him go," Sydney stated.

As the game went on, Aly excused herself to the bedroom to change into a more comfortable tee, preferably one of her boyfriend's college shirts. She gently smiled to herself in the mirror, imagining a baby bump, "I can't wait for the day I am a mom."

Chris tapped on the door and entered, "Baby? You okay?"

Aly turned around, "Yeah, I'm fine, I just needed to change. I was so uncomfortable in my turtleneck."

Chris walked over and rubbed her arms, looking deeply in her eyes, "I love you so much and we will find out why you're so sick. I'm going to be here every step of the way. You're my world, baby."

"And I love you so much. You're the best thing to ever happen to me," Aly teared up.

Chris gently kissed her before they joined their friends. Is it a baby...or something more devilish?
