The Captain and the Rockstar

Chapter 1

It's a gorgeous day on Manhattan's lower east side. The coronavirus pandemic that has gripped the world, has started to finally ease up in New York and more people were being allowed to some things that they couldn't three months ago such as sit in Central Park or even outdoor dine. Many people were hit hard, but hopefully the slowing down means things are looking up.

Alyson was inside the recording studio, working on her debut album since her first single was such a big hit. She was so amazed as such a well reception she received, especially being someone new on the scene.

Ashley Gorley, Aly's producer looked at her, "Your first album has such potential to reach number one. It still amazes me that you wrote all these songs by yourself."

"Well, when you're stuck inside for three months, you had to put something together," Aly chuckled.

"Twelve songs is a good start. Each one of these has a unique story and I think the fans are gonna like them. So, where you off to now?" Ashley asked as he finished mixing the first track.

Aly sighed, "Well, Thomas (country star Thomas Rhett) and his family are still in Hawaii for another week, so until they go back home to Nashville and I can visit, I think I'm gonna grab some dinner and just rest my voice tonight."

"Good idea. Our next studio time is Monday at 1. We could get three songs done in that time frame," Ashley said.

"Works for me! See you later and stay safe," Aly smiled.

As Aly left the studio and began to text her best friend Maddie what was going on, she bumped into someone, nearly stumbling to the ground. The person helped her up, handing her her phone, "I am so sorry, I didn't see you there."

Aly looked up and she realized who was in front of her, "Oh my goodness, you're....your Chris Kreider, of the Rangers."

"Yeah, I am. I'm sorry, who are you?" Chris asked.

"Oh my bad, I'm Alyson Jones, that new singer," Aly said, shaking his hand.

Chris went wide-eyed, "THAT Alyson Jones? My goodness. Forgive me for being starstruck, but I love your song. It has such an amazing beat and flow to it. So, how do you know me?"

"Thank you so much and I grew up on Rangers hockey my whole life. In fact, you're my favorite player and we actually met three times," Aly giggled, showing him her lock screen.

Chris smiled, "Well, it's nice to meet you outside the Garden. Just out of curiosity, what are you doing tonight?"

"I was going to finally outdoor dine and maybe go home and rest my voice after a long day of recording," Aly answered.

Chris was being a little shy and timid, but swallowed his pride and went for it, "If you want, I can make you dinner. I went to Whole Foods earlier and stocked up on a bunch of stuff. I make a delicious steak dinner if you're interested."

Aly tried not to blush, "Sure, that sounds amazing."

"Well, let's head on over to my place," Chris grinned.

Would this be the start of an unlikely friendship...or something more?
