The Captain and the Rockstar

Chapter 4

The two moments with Chris were constantly in the back of Aly's head and it was making her stress over finishing her record. She was so excited about her music career and this new path in her life, but at the same time, she felt herself falling for him even though they didn't know each other that well. She was grateful that hockey season was almost here and that the Rangers would be heading to hub city Toronto in three weeks to finish preparing for the playoffs.

With permission from Governor Andrew Cuomo, Aly's label has been allowed to host a celebration for her because her single has now reached number one. The only exception was to only have 100 people, and that every invitee to the party has to be tested for the coronavirus prior to attending. The label set up the party for two weeks from now, just in case there are any positive cases.

At the studio, Aly was smiling so big with her producers, "I can't believe I hit number one and I just started out. This is so exciting."

"We are so proud of you. This was the perfect lead single. Just out of curiosity, what inspired it?" Ben asked.

Aly was a little hesitant because no one really knows the story of the song, "Well, promise you won't judge me because very little people know."

"Of course we won't judge. Tell us," Ashley insisted.

Aly took a deep breath, "Okay. Well, before I decided to come back to music, I was an intern for Scripps Networks over on 14th street and they had a new show that they needed some extra help on. While filming one of the episodes in Germany, I was getting to know the host of the show and we sort of had an affair in his hotel room, and to this day, only y'all, him and best friend know."

Ben was blown away, "That was intense. I can understand why you hid that secret. Have you seen the mystery man since?"

"We Skype every now and then, text almost every day, but I haven't seen him in person since the last Rangers game I went to in March because of the pandemic," Aly said.

Ashley smirked, "You should go see him. Well, wait. Are he and his wife still married?"

"Nope. Soon after our affair, he filed for divorce and he told me we should date, but I'm 32 years his junior," Aly answered.

Ben scoffed, "Go for it. Age is just a number and apparently, you have so much in common."

After making arrangements for the party and informing the guest list about being tested, Aly left to go relax in Washington Square Park, working on the last song for the album. Now that she confessed her secrets about the inspiration for her song, she felt a little bit of relief and trusted her team not to really say much.

As Aly looked around in hopes for inspiration, she saw him. She saw the man she slept with back in October, "Don!?"

Don grinned and ran over to her, "Hey you. I heard about the song. Congratulations. However, I gotta know. Was it about us?"

"Thank you! Well, yeah, it was," Aly giggled.

Don cupped her face in his hand and kissed her nose, "I missed you a lot. Do you have any plans?"

"Not at all. My next studio session is Saturday, so I have a couple days off finally," Aly replied.

Don grew an even bigger smile, "Stay with me in my apartment for the night. We can catch up and maybe have some more fun."

"I'd love that! I just have to go back to my apartment and pack a bag," Aly blushed.

Upon returning to her building, Aly saw Chris in the lobby, "What are you doing here?"

"Who was the man in the park?" Chris asked.

Aly stepped back, "A-Are you stalking me?"

"Who was he!?" Chris asked again, anger forming in his voice.

"Chris, you're making a scene. It's none of your business," Aly answered.

Chris grabbed her wrist, "Tell me who he is."

"I don't answer to you. We're not even dating. Let me go or I'll yell for them to call building security. Besides, don't you have to get ready to leave for Canada," Aly snarled.

Chris was shocked to see this side of her, "You're not coming!?"

"Uh hello, I have an album to finish and with Governor Cuomo allowing some press events, I have to promote my single. You have playoffs to focus on, not me," Aly stated.

Chris let her wrist go, "You're right, I'm sorry. That behavior was wrong. I'm sorry."

What was it about Aly that Chris wanted so bad? He has his own money, a gorgeous apartment, and everything he could ever want. Does the Rangers captain have a dark side no one knows about?
