Feedback on Hockeyfanfiction.com (For the People In Charge of this Website)
Another suggestion could be to create a mobile app for an IPod or for a smart object. I know that using the website can be hectic using a mobile device. It could kinda be like a Wattlad, where people can read stories and update stories.
The owner actually made multiple sites like this one for other fandoms, and one of the reasons for it was to attract people to Mibba as well as gain readers for member's stories. He is a newlywed and has had a baby recently so he kind of disappeared at the moment. Mibba is quite slow because of it.
So... I honestly don't think he sees these things. Other sites have the same or different issues :/ and others domains have expired so they disappeared as well.
Just wanted to inform you all of what I know!

Hello Hockey Fanfiction,
I should say that I am very gratefully to find this website since I am a NHL hockey fan and a want-to-be author. Thank you for taking the time to make this wonderful website where I am able to express my creativity and find brand new friends. In fact, through this website, I found a friend who I talk to frequently through the website. Thank you again.
Now for the feedback. There is so much to go over, so let's make this as clear and quick as possible so that you can fix what needs to get fix to improve the website. I have broken the feedback into three sections: to improve the experience of the reader, author, and the website itself.
-To Improve the Reader's Experience
1. On the website, there are stories that are updating practically everyday yet they are not actually updated with a brand new chapter. They just update for no reason. Can you please fix this and stop these stories from updating? Here are some of the stories that are experiencing this problem:
-Her Eyes
-Daylight
-Distance Doesn't Matter
-Shooting Stars
-From Atlanta to Chicago
-L'histoire de Kristopher et Lisha
-Proposal
-Annie
-I Want You
-You're My Best Friend
This is in order of 'updating' from just 'updated' to last 'updated' I put the ''' on updated because these stories were not necessarily updated.
2. The tabs on the home page of your website seems to be in no order at all. Can you please fix the tabs in order or just make tabs based on NHL teams' names or alphabetical order by popular hockey players' last names? This will make navigating through the website much easier.
3. If an author is done with a story and is going to write a sequel for the finished story but doesn't know the exact date it's going to be up, how would the readers know when the story is up? The solution: the option to follow the author. Would you please make an option in the profile page or the author to follow her? This option should be able to notify the readers following when a new chapter has be added into one of the author's book, when the author makes a brand new book, when the author sends a message to all of her followers, and when the author starts co-authoring in a book.
-To Improve the Author's Experience
1. I have way too many experience when my chapters start malfunctioning. There are many ways the chapters I am typing start to not work properly. Here are the scenarios I had to go through with my chapters:
-I try to edit a chapter, but the website would for some reason not let me and the browser ends up crashing or telling me to 'kill pages.'
-I post a chapter up but when I read the chapter from the reader's point of view, the chapter is left cut off by more than half. I try to go back to put up the rest of the chapter, but I can't due to the browser crashing or telling me to 'kill pages.'
-I am typing up a chapter when suddenly my browser crashes and all of my work is gone
-I try to edit a chapter, but the website won't give me access to.
Can you please fix this? I don't have any suggestions of how to fix the problems of some chapters unable to be edited or unable to be accessed, but for losing chapters-in-the-making easily, can you please make a draft section where you can save your work without the public seeing it and if the browser crashes, it'll save your work? It'll be very helpful.
2. I have many characters in my story, but the limit of the list of characters is 20 characters. Can you please extend the limit of characters to a higher number or unlimited?
3. I've noticed that authors are unable to change the chapter order of their stories. It'll be much easier if chapter orders are able to be manipulated and if there can be chapters that the public don't have access to, like the drafts I was talking about in #1. With this, we wouldn't have to delete chapters in order to fix the chapter order we can just simply move them around.
4. I am aware that the website allows photos and links to be put in stories, but what about videos or audio clips? Can you please make an option to attach videos and audio clips onto the stories?
-To Improve the Website as a Whole
1. There is a forum tab on the website. I checked it out and saw that people have lots of feedback for you. Can you please make it a habit to check the forums at least once a week to fulfill our desires by answering back to us? If not, can you please make a tab to send feedback to you and to contact you in case of a problem occurring on the website?
2. I've noticed that there is no help offered in the website what-so-ever of how to navigate the website and how to put photos or links, etc. on the website. Can you please make a 'help' tab to instruct lost users of how to navigate through the website?
3. Many times I have been logged out and I wish that I don't have to log in every time my browser refreshes. Can you please give a 'remember me' option while logging in so that users don't have to log in frequently?
4. I've also noticed that there are many ads. Some ads are fine, others aren't. There the ads that hang out on the side while you are reading or typing, but then there are ads that send you to the app store, which is very annoying. Can you please get rid of ads, at least the ones that send users away from the website? I understand that ads let you have some sort of income, since the website is free, but just at least take away the vexing ads that send users somewhere else.
5. I had some trouble with the messages notification enabler, so I had to disable it, despite the fact that I use messages frequently. What would happen is that when I sent a message, an email would show up saying that I received a message, when in reality the person who I sent the message to receive the message, not me. Then it would not notify me when I actual receive a message. Please fix this.
6. Many people had been asking for this on the website and I very much agree with them: a mobile app for hockeyfanfiction.com. I mainly use the website on the iPad and it'll make everyone's experience much easier and more efficient and better with a mobile app. It'll make typing up stories easier and accessing/reading stories much easier! If you can't do all the other problems I have pointed out, PLEASE do this one! We would be VERY grateful for this!
7. It'll be much funner and more eye-catching and prettier if the covers of the books are like actual covers of actual books. So instead of the layout of the row of stories, there can be shelves of stories. Then each story can have a cover just like an actual book!
8. Now since there is a website for hockey fanfiction, would it be trouble to make a football fanfiction based on the NFL?
