A year later

I walked along the beach in Florida with Tucker, who was on his leash. Ever since we moved to Florida, Tucker has loved coming to the beach. The constant sun and running in the beach water were now part of his favorite hobbies.

I heard my phone go off, so I answered it. "Uh, hello?"

"It's Sarah," She raced out. "I wanted to tell you that The Avs are playing the Panther's tonight! I have two tickets and we're going."

I laughed, loudly. "You probably got free tickets because neither team has any fans, whatsoever," I joked. "But anyways, I'm not going. Nice try though, Sar."

"Please, come on! We can watch those little cute rookies play tonight!"

"I'm not a cougar. Plus, Jaxon and I are going out to dinner tonight. I'm not going to cancel on him."

"Nah, it's perfectly fine. I told Jaxon that I had two tickets to go tonight and he said that he'll move your reservations to Thursday night." I figured that I wouldn't be getting out of this anytime soon. "See, I thought this through. Now you can't get out of this." Her devilish laugh rung through the phone. A grin spread across my face.

"What ever, dork. I'll be back in about an hour. I might buy a couple of things at the shop and I think Tucker wants to get down to the water," I told my crazy best friend.

"Alright, see you later."

We walked through the doors to see what I expected, hardly anyone here. There were a few people, but not too many. I enjoyed it not being so crowded, which was the opposite of how it was in Toronto. I did have to admit that the atmosphere wasn't the same. In Toronto you got goose bumps when the guys came onto the ice, when they scored, and when the fans screamed their heads off.

"Come on, this way." I felt Sarah pull my arm into the opposite direction.

After we finally found our seats it was warm-ups. I had no clue why she wanted to come so early, I mean none of these guys were complete superstars. You didn't have your Ovechkin's, Crosby's, Datsyuk's, or Luongo's at this game.

We were right on the glass. I tried to think about the price of these tickets, but I couldn't be completely sure. They ranged on the fan bases and the consistency of attendance.

"How much did these seats cost?" I asked, looking over at Sarah who was watching the guys skate around, intensely.

"Oh, I just got them free from my boss. He said he only buys season tickets because he's friends with the owner and what not. It's just so the team will stay here, but I don't know how long that'll work." She laughed.

I smiled. "Yeah, good point. Remember when we used to go to hockey games in Toronto, it was a sell out crowd every time, winning or losing."

"Yeah, I miss Toronto."

......

As the third was dying down, Sarah turned to look at me. "So, I was saving this for the end, but doing it right now seems suitable," She paused as she dug into her purse. She soon pulled out to passes and grinned at me. "I have two passes to meet the team afterwards!" She shrieked.

"You want me to go meet those guys?" I asked, pointing to the men skating around the ice.

"Well duh."

"What if we ran into the Colorado players?" I teased her.

She chuckled to herself. "I wish we could get into their locker room. I mean their players are way hotter than the ones we have in Florida! Some of those Colorado guys could take me home if they wanted to!" I scoffed at the freaky side of Sarah. It was just a reminder how crazy my friend could be sometimes.

I let out a sigh. "Why do I let you take advantage of me so much?" My smile made her laugh.

"Because you have no will!"

"Hey ladies," I heard a man say. It made me turn around to find a long haired guy standing there with a grin.

"You're Jacob Markstrom!" Sarah yelled. I gave her a weird look because she actually knew who he was. I personally, never paid attention to the Florida Panther's.

"That's me, so what brings you two down to the locker room?" He asked, trying to be smooth.

"I just got these tickets and passes from my boss," She simply explained to the guy.

"How old are you?" I randomly, questioned. I had been eyeing him. I found that he did look almost twenty but the facial hair and long hair added a few years. I would be close to guess twenty-five.

"Twenty-three, why?"

I shrugged, realizing that he wasn't of age for Sarah. She didn't seem too mind though, which was weird. "No reason," I stated.

"So Jacob, how's it playing hockey in the hotbed of Florida?" Sarah joked and he just ran his hands through his hair before answering.

"It's pretty good." I seen another man walk up to us. I knew who he was right away.

"What's up?" He interrupted.

"George Parros, am I right?" I asked the long haired guy, with a dark mustache. I was a big fan. When he fought, he wasn't kidding. I remember him when he won the cup with Anaheim a few years back.

"Yeah, and you are?"

"I'm Kendall and this is my friend, Sarah. We watched your guys' game tonight." In my head the hockey switch immediately clicked on. "Your fight against Hedja was awesome! I mean you really knocked out the guy," I rambled.

"So you liked it, eh?" He asked.

"Definitely."

"So you two must be real lady killers with your long hair, right?" Sarah joked again causing everyone to laugh.

"Well are you killed yet?" Jacob asked.

"Not yet," She replied.

"Well I guess it's not working!" George said, continuing his laugh.
