On there way to Pittsburgh after the lost to Ottawa 5-3. Everyone was sleeping on the plane ride to Pittsburgh. Addison was very happy to reach to Pittsburgh so she could give her friend a huge hug. Her and Kennedy never been this apart for this long. Kaner couldn’t wait to ask her to move in with him. Yes he liked living by himself but there was something that having Kennedy by his side made him feel home. Coach Q let them have the day off and so Brent,Duncan,Kaner, Sharpie,Corey , Jon, and Addison are going to met Kennedy at one of the restaurant that Brandon said it was amazing place to eat.
When they reach there Kennedy was outside waiting for them. Kaner couldn’t wait any longer and ran up to her. Crash his lips onto hers. After Addison gave Kennedy a hug,. Once they all settle down for lunch. Addison was looking everywhere for her phone. Into lunch Addison and Kennedy were talking about how Phoenix was and how she met a lot of baseball players. Jon had to go to the restroom and place his phone on the table. No one didn’t see that Brent grab Jon’s phone and switch his contact info with Addison’s contact so Jon would think that Addison just text her even though Brent was texting him. When Jon came back from the restroom, Brent send him a text. Jon grab his phone and read the text. It said. “We need to talk. I’m pregnant! Just don’t tell anyone yet.” His face dropped and turn white as a ghost.
“So what is the big news you had to make me wait?”
“Well I have been asked by ---.”
“Sorry Kennedy but do you mind if I talked to Addison right now.” Addison looked at Jon and she was scared of what he has on his mind.
“What’s going on?”
“Can we talk outside?” Addison nodded her head and got up. When they got outside Jon was pacing back and forth for a couple of seconds.
“Jon what’s going on?”
“When were you going to tell me?”
“Tell you what?” He scoffed and rubbed his face.
“I remember that we didn’t used anything that night but you shouldn’t have tell it to my face then a text.”
“Jon I have no fucking clue what you are trying to tell me.” Then Jon grab his phone and showed her the text. Addison had the same face that Jon had when he read the text.
“Well I am not pregnant and I didn’t bring my phone. I would have told you the second I found out. Yes I threw up a couple of days ago but that was from the gross hot dog. Other than that I am fine. I bet you Sharpie his behind then. We should take this prank into the next level.” Jon smiled a little.
“Why not you take the lead then.” When they walked inside, Addison had a huge smile on her face and so did Jon. He pulled out her chair and before she sat down.
“You guys Jon and I have some big news.” They all turn their heads and focus on Addison.
“I’m pregnant!” She threw her arms in the air. Kennedy was in shock and Brent and Sharpie were the only one were in complete shock. Kennedy got up from her chair and hug Addison.
“I’m going to be an aunt. When did you find out?”
“About a couple of minutes ago. I guess that Jon got a text from me saying that I was pregnant.” Kennedy had a confused look on her.
“Thanks Brent and Sharpie.” They all looked at the prankster and nodded their heads.
“Sorry we just want to see how Jon would react if that was true.” They all laugh at what the two did and went back on their lunch. After lunch they all went back to the hotel so Jon,Addison, Kennedy and Kaner would get ready for a double date. Kaner and Jon were waiting for the girls to come down to the lobby.
“So are you ready to ask Kennedy?”
“I have been waiting since she left. I just hope that she says yes. If Addison was pregnant how would you feel?”
“At first I was shock but then I was happy, I love Addison and I know one day she will be a great mom. But I know that we need more time because I want her dream to come true like us winning the cup twice. She wants to be the first women to be the GM for any NHL team. If that mean she has to be in a different city then I have to let her go.” Then Addison and Kennedy got out of the elevator.
“You're going to let that go?” Kaner pointed with his eyes.
“Then you are going to regret that for the rest of your life. Ready girls?” Kennedy kissed Kaner on the lips.
“Yes we are.” When they got to the restaurant that Paul Martin text Kaner. Both girls were in aww of how amazing the place was. They didn’t talked that much into the dinner because they talked a lot during lunch.
“Kennedy I need to show you something.” Kaner grabs her hand and they walked up to the roof of the restaurant. When the got up to the roof it was amazing skyline of Pittsburgh.
“Kaner this is amazing but there something that I need to tell you.”
“Kennedy I need to tell you something too and I have been waiting since you got on the plane to Phoenix. Tonight you’re perfect and I fell in love with the stars in your eyes. When you got on the plane I knew that I fell inlove with you. I couldn’t stay at my place because I knew that it wasn’t home when you weren’t there. What I am trying to say is that Kennedy will you move in with me?” Kennedy can see there were some tears forming into his eyes.
“Yes I will move in with you but I have some big news but I need to tell Addison too.” Kaner gave Kennedy the most lovely kiss that he ever gave her. He grabs her hand and went back down to the table. Jon and Addison were waiting for the answer to.
“Yes I am moving in with Kaner.” They all cheer for the Kaner and Kennedy.
“But I have some big news. So while I was down in Phoenix I met more than just baseball players but I have met some editors from some big magazine.”
“Like what?”
“LA times, ESPN and other magazines I don’t remember, but LA time and ESPN want me to join with their team.” Everyone was in shock of the great news that Kennedy has two big companies wants to hire her.
“If I want to work for ESPN they want me to move to New York or LA I can cover the Kings, Ducks, Lakers and Dodgers. If the weather from Phoenix is like LA I want to try out LA times.” Kaner’s heart sink a little. He was thinking now she has to make a choice to move in with him or to New York or LA. Kaner didn’t say anything for the rest of the night.
“I’m so proud for you Kennedy.” Addison gave her a hug.
“Thanks.”
Before the game Addison wanted to see Crosby before the game starts. So Addison went over to the home locker room. Addison put her head in and Kunitz spotted her.
“Addison what are you doing here?”
“I wanted to check up see how everything's doing. Where’s Sid?” Kunitz looked at the clock to see what Sid is doing at this time before the game.
“He’s taping his stick right now, it shouldn’t be longer than 5 more minutes.”
“Where is he?”
“ By the tunnel.” He pointed the way where the tunnel leads. When Addison got to the tunnel and see that Kunitz was right.”
“Hey Sid?” He turn around and had his famous smile on his face.
“Look it’s my number girl.” He put his stick down and gave her a hug.
“How are you doing?
“I’m doing good I forgot how beautiful Pittsburgh is. So good luck tonight I will be in the sky box.”
“Thanks.”
During the game the Penguins were up by two goals and the Blackhawks had to clue how to get a goal behind Fleury was standing on his head. Then the big hit that Brooks Orpik gave to Jon.
“Jon.” Addison said under her breath. It took a while for Jon to get on the bench. When Addison saw Jon heading into the tunnel she looked over at Stan. Stan nodded his head and she walked out of the sky box. Addison walked a little bit faster to get to Jon. She pushes the door open and Jon was on the training bed with his shoulder wrapped with an ice pack.
“How are you feeling?”
“Pain. God it hurts like a mother fucker. But you don’t have to worry.” Addison laughed a little.
“Jon right now I am not the GM assistant, I am your girlfriend and I’m going to worry about this.” Addison kissed his cheek.
“I’m here for you no matter what.”
“Thanks, you're so perfect. How did I get so lucky?” Jon smiled. Addison knew that the docs gave him some pain meds.”
